GLUTOIDS DELIGHT! I'm new to Cape Cod and I discovered a delicious restaurant in Osterville today - CRISP. For those of us with gluten issues, this place offers gluten free beer, Red Bridge [which Anheuser-Busch is discontinuing :-( ] along with gluten free pizza dough if requested, and a menu that offers many of the dishes as GF. The aroma of the birchwood pizza ovens is mesmerizing and if the rest of the team is as good as Ally (which I suspect), then this places earns my 5-star rating! CRISP-TOO, across the street, is their dedicated take-out pizza restaurant. This is clearly a "locals" hangout - good sign. We started with a simple Rocket Salad - arugula, lemon, olive oil, parmesan. Next, we enjoyed the MEATBALLIN' and the Gluten-Free version of the Wicky-Wicky chicken. If you're seeking a solid food establishment that you can trust--top notch quality, clean, with professional, polite employees, this is the place. So many restaurants on the Cape can't claim this. The outdoor atmosphere is great with its outdoor bar and fire pit. We chose to sit and have dinner outside. Service was friendly and attentive. We shared a watermelon salad special and had 2 small pizzas, my husband some hot version and I "created" a mushroom & cheese. Nice night out, had not been in a while. They do not take reservations and no dogs unless service animals. read more

Such a great spot for flatbread pizzas! We came to Crisp after my daughter's dance competition on a Saturday evening and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were seated within 30 minutes, which is pretty great for a busy weekend night. While we waited, we relaxed by the outdoor fire pit and the kids had a blast playing ping pong at the outdoor table. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the Caliente, Summer Luvin, and Just Peachy pies. All three were fantastic, but the Just Peachy was the clear winner for us--such a unique and delicious combo! read more

Came here on a Monday night in July around 6:30pm. Was about a 45 minute wait for a table which was ok as it is high season. Parking is tricky but not impossible. Waitress, Tori was very attentive. Unfortunately kitchen was very slow for pizzas and entrees. She acknowledged that and apologized. We had an order of garlic knots which were fresh out of the oven but lacked flavor. There was garlic and oil on the plate but they just were ok Pizzas were just ok. I did see others that looked great but mine had no char. Perhaps they rushed them due to crowd. Tasted decent. Prices were ok. Not cheap but didn't feel gouged either. Outdoor seating was nice with fire pits adjacent. Will probably give them another shot and chalk up a "meh" experience to an off night. read more

Always good food served by a very kind and pleasant staff. The restaurant is set in the quaint New England town of Osterville. The place was incredibly busy and understaffed and, aside from predicting when our table was to be ready, the hostesses - there were two - did nothing to help the wait staff and busboys. The entire night the two hostesses stood behind their podium staring at their iPad and chatted, meanwhile large tables went un-bussed for inordinate lengths of time, side tables by the firepit accumulated stacks of dirty plates and glasses, and guests fetched their own drinks and fed logs to the fire (otherwise the fire would have gone out despite the firepit being directly in front of and in clear eyesight of these hostesses). We waited just under two hours for our table - they predicted 105 minutes so this they got nearly right - and honestly, the 115 minutes we waited would have been fine as it was a gorgeous night were it not for the blasé attitude of the two hostess' as the rest of the staff worked their butts off to get us seated and fed before the kitchen closed. I have worked in restaurants for many years and it is standard that the hostess helps out other staff with busing, bringing guests drinks while they wait, and overall are responsible for keeping the restaurant moving as efficiently as possible. The hostess has a huge role in setting the tone and the pace during a busy night and the indifferent attitude of these two hostess' overshadowed the rest of the dining experience. read more

I ordered delivery from here last summer and can't believe I neglected to write a review for it. This place plays hard to get because it is rarely available when I want to order food in Cape Cod, it's too bad because it is one of my favorite places to order from. HUGE shout out to Crisp for the great veggie options. It is also one of those rare places where you can be naughty and nice with your choices simultaneously. I went the naughty AND nice route when I ordered and included some healthier stuff like one of their salads (I see that you can add tofu which is awesome, most places don't have a veggie protein add on option), and their VEGGIE MEATBALLS, intermediate with one of their flatbreads that doesn't appear to be available anymore, and naughty with an order of their truffle fries. I must have really been behaving because I see a pretzel stuffed with jalapeno cheese and managed to harness the willpower to scroll by. The salad, unfortunately I don't remember more details about specifics, was very enjoyable. The fries were also very good. The meatballs were absolutely smothered in tomato sauce with pesto and a gigantic dollop of ricotta and I am grateful for this vegetarian option. Our pizza was a summer veggie type with ricotta, zucchini, grape tomatoes, corn, and slivers of basil. I like the seasonal dish. Their other pizzas are creative concoctions. They also serve pastas and desserts. I hope they are open again at some point when I want to order in the future lol read more

Love crisp flatbread. I ordered the Caliente and the "Build Me Up Butternut" flatbread. Both are very delicious. The Build Me Up Butternut had me at hello: garlic oil, ricotta, whole milk mozzarella, prosciutto, fire roasted butternut squash, spinach, dried cranberries. What a combination that really works.
