Unfortunately, the blue gentleman tap room is closed to the public and only available for private events. I reached out to find out how to book a private event and was contacted by Rachel, their retail manager. Now let me start by telling you Rachel went above and beyond because she could've just told me go to Braddock Public House. However, knowing that we were a Craft Beer Meet up group she was specific in letting me know that they serve per Brew Gentleman Beer, which was the whole reason for it the excursion, and then she went and did something even further. She made a reservation for our group and ensured that we had ample seating for the designated time we planned to meet. Has someone hosting an event this meant so much to me that the team made sure that I didn't have to worry about seating or space once the group got there. So now the part everybody is excited for Braddock public health is a must try! On the drive there I was a little worried because there's literally nothing around it but once you get there, the space is quaint with an upscale vibe, but with a very casual and chill vibe. The pictures attached do not do the space justice. It's just very downtown chic. The menu is not your normal variety for a Pittsburgh base restaurant however with the owners being apart from Pittsburgh and having a Japanese/Hawaiian background, it is a menu for the taste buds. I ordered three appetizers which I shared with people and honestly, I would order them again. I also went outside of my comfort zone and tried what I'm labeling Hawaiian sushi. The gentlemen beer was fantastic. They don't do a flight but they do do sample sizes so I ended up starting with three (pictured here with name) and then I got two more not pictured (but included names with other "flight" photo. All this to say I had never been to Braddock, but Braddock Public House will make me return. Kudos to the team!

I've been craving a big bowl of their tortilla soup and a buffalo chicken sandwich for years. A recent family outing took us to Monroeville and I knew that we had to eat at Max & Erma's since we were in the neighborhood. The inside is a tad 'odd', with seasonal Christmas lights everywhere decorated in a Fourth of July theme. The table was mildly sticky, the booth seat was mildly uncomfortable, and there was a mild smell of dirty dishwater and/or urine at our seats. All-in-all, the restaurant feels tired and judging by the cleaning products and bucket placed on the ice cream bar, it looks like the workers are used to it being that way. It looks remarkably like the Max & Erma's in Cranberry right before it closed its doors. Service was prompt and friendly. No complaints at all. The food was on point and was as great as I remembered it to be. We got 2 quarts of tortilla soup to go so that we could share the nostalgia with our family and they were equally as smitten. I hope this place stays around and that it gets a little refresher. Generations of yinzers need their tortilla soup, buffalo chicken, and let's not forget those unforgettable cookies to go!

I have been coming here for years, and it never fails to hit the spot. Even though I don't eat fish, their perfectly seasoned, crispy fried chicken is easily some of the best in the city. My boyfriend is absolutely obsessed with their fish too, we both love that our food always comes out hot, fresh, and delicious.

I tried their catfish nuggets with coleslaw and fries as well as their funnel cake fries. The catfish nuggets just weren't the best. The fish itself was very thin and slimy. There was a ton of gray meat as well. The breading was kind of strange and tasted very strong of cornstarch and vinegar. Some of the breading was falling off, too. Not the best. The coleslaw wasn't any better. It came in a very small portion. Additionally, it was super liquids and sweet. There wasn't any creaminess. Overall not good. The french fries were actually pretty decent, though. They were crispy and cooked well. Soft on the inside. Also, the seasoning was very solid, and they gave me multiple sauces for free, which was also nice. The funnel cake fries also weren't that good. They had this sort of strange flavor that I can only describe as "dirty fried" like there was something there before they entered the fryer. Quite greasy, not enough powdered sugar. Bland and tasted stale. All in all, the place gives cheap food, most of which seems to be somewhat sub-standard. If you really just want something cheap, it's an okay spot, but quality is not the best. There's not space to sit inside, too, so call in for takeout or order online.

They had the pens game on too so that was a bonus. You could tell the is a neighbor hood bat --- lot is folks knowing the staff as they were coming in. Parking lot was FULL!! They also have a pool table ;) We had seven in our party and they sat us quickly ... dink order taken while we looked over the menu (the kids knew what they wanted off the bat).... we ordered quesadillas, a pizza, spaghetti and meatball, the cod father, meatball sandwich, surf and turf as well as fish and chips ( come with 1 of of fish). See pics for moist of the items. It seemed like an extremely long time from when we ordered till we got served ... the kids were hangry when we got there and my nephew looked at me after drinking two glasses of water and asked where they heck is our food....believe the delay was because of the packed room for show all ordering food too. A very large group also came in ( like over 20 people) and say close to us.... our waitress was their waitress too. I think they were understaff for the amount of folks that were there. Food was ok...Fish was good and so was pizza (the pizza was actually really good!) they did have a stuffed zucchini roll that the table liked! I personally was not a fan of the Mac and cheese however. Enjoy if you stop here!

A lot of seasonal. Service. A little slow, but it was one bartender for seemed to be the entire place. What really was slow was the food service. Not awful, but could have been a bit quicker. The bartender was very friendly and informed one of us when ordering the Pumking that it was $10/16oz draft. I know that it is more expensive, but that could be a surprise for the regular customer so the head's up I think is appreciated. I'll return here to check out other items on the menu and changing draft list.

Contrary to the menu the full rack (11 ribs) double-glazed baby back ribs were "NOT-FALL-OFF-THE BONE tender. I had to "saw" between the bones with so much force I could have cut a 1/4" plywood. I told the server many years ago, with different owners, the ribs were properly identified as fall-off-the-bone tender, but not my order. She smiled. The seasoned broccoli and the garlicky green beans were on one large saucer instead of separate bowls but they were great. We shared the apple pie skillet dessert with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. We chose not to have the caramel sauce on it and it was good. CAUTION: ALWAYS ASK FOR FALL-OFF-THE-BONE TENDER RIBS.

We had a group of ten so we had to wait a bit which was expected. The food was average if not below as it always is The service was not up to par at all! they ran out of half their menu including the mozzarella sticks for the combo and refused to swap out for pretzels which seems like an easy switch. The combo comes with 4 choices and the choose your own only comes with three. Plus it's cheaper. When the manager came over when asked she was rude about it and lacked customer service she suggested we buy another buy the pretzels separate even though THEY ran out. She also said "we ran out since businesses was so good" to me Im hearing that they could have comped the pretzels or just allow us to switch as requested. As the manager if that's the expectation the servers can't be much better. Our server was nice she just seemed overwhelmed dealing with our big table plus other tables so she wasn't on top of it like she may have been in a slower day so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt When it came time to pay my pap couldn't get the discounted price because I'm younger than the required age but the person That's PAYINB is the correct age so for them to be sticklers like that is really ridiculous. That's more of a company issue but honestly I've been to chain restaurants where they will just give a small discount to appease the customer. That's the point of customer service.
