Following advice of prior reviews we got the catfish nuggets and they were very good. Lightly breaded but could use some seasoning. Good though. Shrimp very good. Fries were very good but, again they could have used more seasoning. Chicken tagine was worst of the lot. Perfectly edible and I enjoyed the leftovers the next day but bland. Can't really recommend that dish. I was expecting unusual tastes but got nothing. Clean pleasant environment. Parking not easy. I ended up up the hill on the same side of the road as the restaurant, paying for parking. 3.5 stars if that was possible. We are still looking for our fish fry go to place in Pittsburgh.

I ordered the delivery through DoorDash. The wings are pretty decent, but not equally seasoned. One can taste too salty and another taste very bland. Their fries are crunchy after the delivery still so that is very good. I ordered side of Mac and Cheese from reading other reviews but it is horrible. Overall would not try it again

Ordered one of their combos- catfish and 10pcs shrimp and it was delicious! They season your meal at the end so you can add salt/pepper to your own liking. The fries were soo crispy and the shrimp & fish were perfectly fried too! Although i got takeout, the food was still very crunchy and not soggy at all. The owner (?) was also very kind. Perfect for when you're craving fried food on the go :)

I've gone to Pitt for two years now, and it's my first time here. My parents are in town and they walked by this place and thought it looked .. interesting? they had a post it about gizzards and it had reminded them of a place back at home (Go Chicken Go, from Kansas City anyone?) The first impression walking in was all the tobacco products they're selling in the counters.. and toilet paper and paper towels?? Onto the food: It was actually pretty good! Our meal for 4 was ~$35. We got wings, gizzards, and the fish tagime(?). The wings and fries were crispy, you could get a cheese dip for the fries. And they give you some hot sauce and ketchup too. The fish was plain, so I'd probably not get it again.. It needed some salt or something... Worth a try! I definitely wasn't feeling it at first glance but the food wasn't bad :).

I just ordered from here for the first time. I got a combo with chicken and cod, mac & cheese and hush puppies. The fish and chicken were both good. They were seasoned well and flavorful, but just a tad over cooked making them a tad chewy. Not so much as to be unpleasant, but a bit more than I'd like. The mac and cheese was very creamy and had that home style quality to it. My son definitely liked it. The best part of the meal overall was the hush puppies. They were very flavorful, not too dry and seasoned perfectly. Definitely the highlight. The only other negative was since I had it delivered, the food temperature was not as hot as I'd have liked, though that is not uncommon getting delivery in this part of town around normal dining hours. It did arrive on time though and the driver was very pleasant. They also had snapple which is a big bonus for me.

Two hours for the food to be delivered. The fish sandwich was not good at all. Fries were mediocre, cole slaw was ok.

The pickled items are all done in house, and menu/kitchen are very thoughtful on how they execute. They do the pickling well, and they incorporate their ingredients into the dishes without making them feel unbalanced. Some specifics: Chicken fried pickles: Great ratio of batter to pickle. Generally, I think execution of pickled spears versus chips is fraught with peril. ButterJoint does these perfectly. These remain excellent and an unequivocal "get again" dish. Crispy chicken sandwich: chicken thighs done in one of the House brines, then battered and fried. This is a generous sandwich with two thighs. The batter is light and perfect and perfectly adherent. Kitchen cooked these pieces perfectly; no overdone portions. The tallow fries served as a side remain excellent, and the serving is very generous. "You can't eat just one." Pork belly sandwich: what a completely fun bite! Generous serving of pork belly, crispy on the outside and melting internally on a perfectly toasted roll. The condiments on this sandwich are perfect. The brunch burger is excellent. The egg is hard cooked so it doesn't come apart on the sandwich. M got the corned beef hash; the brisket on it is absolutely amazing, and there is a very nice grill on the potatoes. The poached egg on top is a complete delight. This is one of the better hashes that I have had. The falafel is fantastic. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked. The goat cheese crust with hot pepper jelly is an unexpected treat. Pickle shrimp are fun. The Mississippi comeback sauce is basically a remolade or maybe big Mac sauce. Would totally have again looking for a little cold shrimpy bite. We have never walked away disappointed by the menu or the kitchen. Good bar program, good draught list. Consistently gracious front of house team. Great for lunch or dinner, couples or families. Highly recommended.

Got to try their chicken sandwich and vinegar pie. The chicken sandwich came with a garlic sauce (toum) and fresh vegetables on their signature milk bread. Needless to say, the bun was amazing. The toum was great too, perfectly garlicky. And the chicken was delicious, with a solid portion. A bit on the expensive side though. The vinegar pie sounded super unique and intriguing so I gave that a shot. So glad I did! This is delicious. I can't even really describe it; there's a tiny note of acidity to it, but it's also super sweet. A nice little brown topping as well. It's just really good and you should try it. All in all, recommend this spot. The inside area we were sitting at was a little bleak but other than that, it is a nice place to be!

Crispy outside, nice eggs within. Excellent with a little bit of Frank's. The dijonaise with it works well, gives almost a deviled egg vibe. - The fish and chips sandwich is fantastic. Large portion: Two of us could have split it and still walked away full. Battered. This one is cooked perfectly. The sandwich sandwich roll is crippled and lovely. The tartar sauce is subtle and dead-on. This is exactly what I want from a fish sandwich. - The french fries that came with the fish and chips are nicely cooked, medium cut. Crispy potatoey and perfect. These are crowdpleasers - everyone at our table liked them. Could possibly be worth a trip in and of themselves.

I made a light summer meal of the house salad and half order of one Scotch egg, although I found the two creamy dressings to be too much. Next to no parking in their private lot. Didn't try the restrooms. P.s. use the lower door off the patio to enter/exit.
