I'll write a full review soon! We loved this clean casual restaurant, quick friendly staff, delicious homemade foods, and frozen takeout! We ate pillowy pierogis, a flavorful kielbasa sandwich, and hot crispy-edged fries. Close enough you I-76 for a quick stop or takeout. We did both, and got frozen pierogis to make at home :-)

Was looking for something that we could sit in and eat. Looked over Yelp and realized this place was only a 15 min drive away. Haven't had any polish food like this since covid started. So we took the drive down to Irwin. Upon arriving greeted ASAP. Was only one other family eating there. Order was taken quickly and came out only a few minutes later. They were taking all precautions I would be looking for when eating out like plastic cutlery and other then my platter was on a normal plate. Started with the potato pancake. Wasn't super greasy which I really loved about it. It's a rolled pressed patty and I think that has something to do with it. My platter was really good. 3 pirogies, haluski and one cabbage roll. Was the perfect amount for what I eat. The Roll was just sweet enough and the haluski was how I like it. The noddles looked home made and were a bit thick but I like it like that. The bread pudding is something I don't eat very often. The deep fried ones we got were so good. Just crunchy enough and warm in the middle. My fiancé got the Kielbasa sandwich which she really enjoyed. I did take a bite and thought I'd get this in the future. I would highly suggest checking this place out. Was very cost efficient and was home made from what I could tell. They do other things like pizza Detroit style, have salads and sandwiches. You can pick up frozen homemade pirogies to take home that are normal and desert style.

    Exactly as I remembered.

Food tastes authentic Polish. Outdoor area was a place to sit. I bought some extra frozen pierogies to take home with me.

Let me describe Cop Out like this…read more.. Think of any Friday during lent. Walking hand in hand with your grandma. Uphill, usually in the rain or, more likely, snow flurries. Think of walking into the basement of her old, very old, church. Looking around at all the old white haired ladies, (old is relative now...) as they smile and have a word or two or ten for everyone who walks into the door. Think of the smell of frying onions. Frying in lots and lots of butter. Grandma taking you by the hand, telling shy you to say hi to her friend Dorothy or Deloris or Irene. (No Taylors or Brianna's here, thank you very much). Grandma let's go of your hand while she digs into her little change purse for her rolled up bills and some loose change on the bottom. She smiles at you as she hands you an extra quarter - you smile back because you know that means cake at the little table in the back of the room. Grandma takes two plates, each holding a handful of lightly pan fried, doughy (but not too doughy) pierogis. Covered in fried onions and dripping with butter. A dollop of sour cream on the side. Today it's potato and sauerkraut. Last week was potato and cheese. I can't wait to see if next week is farmers cheese. If you can close your eyes and remember that walk. If you can still see Gladys. If you can still taste the buttery onions. If you can still feel the love that you and your grandma shared. If you can do all of this, then I can guarantee you will love Cop Out. For those of you who have never experienced pierogis purchased in a church basement during lent; I still guarantee you'll like Cop Out. I live 800 miles away. I can't think of a single church that serves pierogis, especially homemade ones. We are in the Deep South, afterall. I do take my grandkids to fish fries during lent. I hope I'm making similar memories for them, though even the best piece of fish fry fish is no match for the pierogis that both the church ladies and Cop Out dish out.

This place is no-frills, you'll be eating off of paper plates if you eat at one of the few tables inside, which is exactly what you want in a pierogi place. Everyone there was also so friendly and made us feel so welcome. We ended up going with orders of the potato and sauerkraut, cheddar jalapeno, and mac and cheese pierogies. You get 14 to an order with caramelized onions included and optional sour cream for a bit extra. All 3 flavors were delicious! I appreciated that they asked if we wanted them separate or if we were going to share. We wanted to share, so they put them all on one plate for us. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors! My only regret is not getting some frozen to keep at home

Flavors of pierogies include potato, potato cheese, potato bacon, potato sauerkraut, sauerkraut, lekvar prune, potato cheese jalapeno, cottage cheese, spinach ricotta, spinach feta, roast beef, sausage, cheese pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and some seasonal flavors. Other foods include stuffed cabbage, stuffed pepper, kielbasa, haluski, goulash, borsch, mashed potatoes, green beans, some desserts, etcetera. Many of the foods are available as either hot/ready-to-eat for dine-in or cold/frozen for takeout. For over a decade, I have bought foods from their location in Wexford, and I recently tried this location in Moon Township for the first time. Two employees spoke little English, but they promptly and politely served me. The interior of the restaurant has no seating, and the outside has one small table with two chairs, so this restaurant is mostly takeout. I rate the potato-cheese pierogies and the kielbasa as 5 stars. I rate the haluski, stuffed pepper, and stuffed cabbage as 4 stars.
