She delights when I bring photos of Patti Smith and Keith Richards for hairspiration, and keeps me rockin' the shag of my dreams, always tweaking just slightly to keep it current. (And letting me pop in for regular bang trims, that's key. Why attempt to trim your own bangs when you've got an Alexis??) I get stopped in boutiques, at Trader Joe's, at the airport, at my friend's kid's choir concert in suburban Boston... Women constantly asking me WHO CUTS YOUR HAIR? I'm relieved Alexis has landed at Ollin so I can finally send her referrals. I just went in for my first visit, and the salon was buzzing, a great cut or color underway in every chair. I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance and planned ahead to drive from Orange County. I was halfway to LA when I called to confirm that the stylist would be there at 9 AM. The front desk said they had called and texted me at 8 AM to cancel because she was sick. Obviously unplanned things come up, but the stylist likely knew earlier she was not feeling well and this salon does not care about inconveniencing clients, and they gave notice at the absolute last minute. I paid and planned for childcare and am so disappointed in their lack of professionalism and disregard for my time. read more

Maggie!! Hair colorist extraordinaire!! When I first met her I knew exactly what I wanted .. highlights, highlights, highlights!! She said,"No! No! No! Your hair is too damaged! We will work towards that. We need to get your hair healthy first." In the process of getting my hair healthy, she still gave a beautiful dimensional hair colors. I prefer dimensions over fiat one color, and she gets me! She would test a strand to see how my hair health was doing." No. Not yet." Then she suggested trims and vitamins. Maggie is sassy yet no nonsense! Easy going vibe. Love that about her! My hair finally was healthy enough and I got the highlights I wanted from almost two years ago! Yes!
