    Raspberry croissant!
    Kathy S.

Every since the weather started to get chilly, I have been looking for a spot to find some comfort food to pair with a coffee at home. I just recently discovered this place and it's a weekly ritual to go here with my son and grab some croissants and their egg and ham croissant sandwich. I'll list my fav's: The almond croissant (it has the white sugar powder on it I took a pic of it) The raspberry croissant (close second, not too sweet, real comfort food) The cinnamon roll (extremely close third, nice and gooey in the middle) I like to toast these in the toaster oven for a few minutes. As for the sandwiches, my son and I both love the egg ham and cheese. When heating this up at home, take the egg part out and microwave it on a plate but toast the croissant. Turns out perfect! The only thing that I've had here that I didn't like was their blueberry croissant. The coffee isn't the best either. Parking can be a bit tricky but there's paid street parking if you're coming from sherbrooke going west or there's always free neighborhood side street parking (read the signs and you will have to walk a little)

Croissant Monkland recently made a permanent move from Monkland Ave to Sherbrooke. I had spent many working hours in Monkland accompanied by a financier along with a coffee or a Kusmi tea. The good news is that all their pastries and sandwiches have remained the same. The new place is more spacious and gets more light. It doesn't have a patio though. I have enjoyed Croissant Monkland's pastries for a couple of years now. The croissants and financiers are on the greasy side, but seriously delicious. The almond croissant is almost a meal by itself, and makes a delightful snack on a cold winter day. The pastries and pies are pretty good too. They also have sandwiches, quiches and crepes, which come with a side salad. I am particularly fond of their crepes.

I honestly regret not getting more to take home with me! The croissants were also really good - super buttery, it was making the brown bag oily but not in the gross way lol Parking was tough when we went bc some streets around it were closed but it was fine after a couple rounds of driving. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal!

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

While in Miami last year, my husband, mother-in-law and I became big fans of the Rosetta on lower Collins Ave and then once they opened the one by Lincoln Center in NYC, we began to visit that one often since it's walking distance. After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
