Croissant Monkland is a fabulous boulangerie and a tremendous asset to the Notre Dame de Grace (NDG) neighborhood. On every morning of our recent four-day visit to Montreal, we stopped here for breakfast. The wide range of croissants and other baked goods, both sweet and savory, made for some tough decisions, but the selections were unfailingly fresh and delicious. This is a tough review, because they have what I consider to be the best croissants in Montreal, however they made a huge mistake and laughed it off like it's nothing. One time I ordered the vegetarian pizza, and after getting home I realized there were anchovies under the cheese. When I brought it back, they told me that they put anchovies in by mistake, yet still sold it. This is a huge food safety issue and was not handled with the care it needed, and I unfortunately cannot recommend going there. read more

Every since the weather started to get chilly, I have been looking for a spot to find some comfort food to pair with a coffee at home. I just recently discovered this place and it's a weekly ritual to go here with my son and grab some croissants and their egg and ham croissant sandwich. I'll list my fav's: The almond croissant (it has the white sugar powder on it I took a pic of it) The raspberry croissant (close second, not too sweet, real comfort food) The cinnamon roll (extremely close third, nice and gooey in the middle) I like to toast these in the toaster oven for a few minutes. As for the sandwiches, my son and I both love the egg ham and cheese. When heating this up at home, take the egg part out and microwave it on a plate but toast the croissant. Turns out perfect! The only thing that I've had here that I didn't like was their blueberry croissant. The coffee isn't the best either. Parking can be a bit tricky but there's paid street parking if you're coming from sherbrooke going west or there's always free neighborhood side street parking (read the signs and you will have to walk a little) read more

I went to pick up fresh croissants and the service was disgusting. The own smokes by the door and doesn't think about the harm he is doing to his clients health... I come for croissants not second hand smoke... Too bad, such a good product but service is horrible. I wish that sweet young lady was still there, her service was amazing and very professional! Croissant Monkland recently made a permanent move from Monkland Ave to Sherbrooke. I had spent many working hours in Monkland accompanied by a financier along with a coffee or a Kusmi tea. The good news is that all their pastries and sandwiches have remained the same. The new place is more spacious and gets more light. It doesn't have a patio though. I have enjoyed Croissant Monkland's pastries for a couple of years now. The croissants and financiers are on the greasy side, but seriously delicious. The almond croissant is almost a meal by itself, and makes a delightful snack on a cold winter day. The pastries and pies are pretty good too. They also have sandwiches, quiches and crepes, which come with a side salad. I am particularly fond of their crepes. read more

I'm a big fan of this place for bread, croissant, danishes, chocolatine, almond croissant and everything in between ! Really great prices and awesome baked goods , you cant go wrong. They also serve coffee, sandwiches, quiche etc,,, Lots of room for seating inside , the location is spacious and clean. Everything is always fresh, buttery and delicious. I am taking away one star because more than once the service has been a little dry and unfriendly, the person seemed annoyed to even take people's orders. it is not always the case but it has happened more than once, something they can work on. But other than that I have nothing bad to say , except maybe that picking what you want to order will be way too difficult because everything looks, smells and tastes delicious ! read more

Now, funnily enough, on Sherbrooke, these are some of the best croissants I've ever had. Our group went through a few dozen on a recent trip; we had to come back after the first time was so good. The croissants are fairly large, and balanced perfectly between crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Lots of butter flavour too. These are beautiful. read more

I ordered a mango raspberry mousse along with small pastries. The mango raspberry mousse cake was delicious and little pastries were good and really reasonably priced less than $2.00 each for the minis. I wasn't too crazy about the fruit tart, they had a funky taste. I really recommend the almond blueberry mini pie definitely worth trying. Omg!! This place has the most delicious croissants in Montreal. Trust me, I'm quite the croissant aficionado and I have scoured the city to find the most scrumptious croissants and this place does not disappoint. It's a non pretentious coffee spot that serves amazing pastries and coffee. It's almost always packed to the nose so better to take out. I have tried this place the food is pretty good. What really upsets me is that I bought a filtered coffee and asked for soy milk and they charged me $0.80 for less than an ounce they put in, I can go to any other place in the area and get it for free. read more

This was my favourite local bakery until this morning. In my experience people have been following the guidelines as to numbers, hand washing and markings on the floor, and the employees have been vigilant in enforcing this. This was not the case this morning - a beautiful sunny day - as the number of people inside and near the cash exceeded the maximum posted for this small space. When I mentioned it to the sales clerk, she said she was not paid enough to tell people about the rules. When I said it was everybody's responsibility, she told me to stay home.
