We stumbled upon this place in search of a dive bar atmosphere with great bar food, and Cronin's did not disappoint! Complete with pinball machines, pool tables, dart boards and plenty of TV's Cronin's offers plenty of things to do in a fun atmosphere. With pre-pandemic prices we felt comfortable ordering several things from the menu, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The portions are HUGE at Cronin's and the food is solid. We loved the house salad, BLT, and Potato Skins. Overall Cronin's hit the spot. Great atmosphere, awesome prices, and good food. We will be back! read more

After reading all the reviews, I had high expectations for this place. I was disappointed to say the least. The menu that had been posted multiple times is no longer the correct menu. I was looking forward to a pot pie, nope they no longer serve them. I've posted the correct menu. I ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings, which the cheeseburger was great. The onion rings came out cold, so I sent them back. I received a new order and they were good, but comparing the 2 they looked like 2 totally different onion rings. I have pictures comparing them below. The other 2 people in my party ordered the special, which was chicken fried chicken. Both the chickens were over cooked to where the breading was crispy burnt. Mashed potatoes were homemade and good. The waitress was not very attentive. We would ask for things (refills) and she would forget about us. This is a great little neighborhood bar. I came with a few friends who play darts here and I got to eat while they played. The server covered tables and the bar and kept up with all of it, even remembering who's on which tab. They don't have a lot of (trendy) hard liquor on hand, but that's because their typical patron isn't looking for that. They have your typical domestic beers and boulevard and KC Bier on tap. I ordered the fried pickle appetizer which was good. The pickles were crisp and the coating was crunchy. They have the GOOD ranch, if you know what I mean. Our table ended up ordering a second basket. For dinner I got their patty melt. The Burger was thicker than I expected and really good. The caramelized onions still had some crispness to them, which I appreciate, I hate overcooked onions. The only downside was the lack of any sauce, but I ended up dipping it in my ranch and that worked out for me. Having been here a few times now, I can say that I have not had anything on the menu that wasn't good!! There are several selections of pot pies to choose from depending on what filling you want. GREAT TVS for games, fun neighborhood bar. We had Cajun Chicken Pasta with garlic bread and a pizza you get 4 toppings free 50cents for extras. Pasta was great, recommended from our fabulous bartender Ryan and the pizza was great too. Pizza is personal size that's why we ordered pizza too. Love our bartender Ryan, he was quick, attentive and so nice making sure we had everything we needed. We stay in Lenexa when we pass through town and we will be back!!! read more

I enjoyed the taco Tuesday special ($1.00 beef or $1.50 chicken hard shell tacos). My order was delivered to my table with a smile in about four minutes. The tacos had a moderate amount of tasty meat, plenty of shredded cheese, fresh veggies, a mild, somewhat chunky salsa, and crispy, tasty shells. There were several TVs and no music. It is what it is, a neighborhood bar in a strip mall. Sometimes a few of my friends and I will stop in here on Wednesday nights after we finish playing soccer at nearby All American. It's usually pretty busy in here and by busy I mean 15-20 people inside. There are a good amount of TV's, a pool table, juke box, low top and high top tables as well as a horseshoe shaped bar. It's typical bar food here, but the chicken fingers stand out. They have a bit of spice and come in a large portion. I'm curious why I order them since I just spent one hour running, I digress. The big killer here is that you should plan on ordering your drinks two at a time. Not because you just love to booze, but because you'll drink two before the waitress will be back. It's not really her fault, she's the only waitress there and the bartender doesn't lend a hand. Plus, the regulars at the bar are trying to engage her in conversation. Hey Cronin's, hire another waitress so we can drink more! Other than that, I like the "divey" aspect to this place. read more

Disclaimer: This review is only about drinks. I have not tried to food here. I know it's crazy to review a place on only drinks when it's called "BAR and Grill" (at least fellow Yelp reviewers tend to make it seem so), but deal with it. The drinks are poured well - not too strong, not too weak, but just right. The staff are friendly enough, though not necessarily the quickest. The Guinness is poured pretty much correctly, but not completely so (which is a shame for a place that touts itself as Irish). The taste of said Guinness isn't the best, though. It seems like the kinda place that sells a lot of beer, but not a lot of good beer, if you catch my drift. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed - your typical strip mall place. Nothing fancy, but friendly customers and an easy going environment. I'd stop back if I were in the area, but I wouldn't find myself going out of my way to get here. read more

Good times! Good people! Good solid American bar food. I really haven't had any problems here and they have good wings! Excellent cheeseburger and tasty tots! I like the hand cut fries from time to time but the tots are excellent and portions are about right. Now mostly males like to hang out here so have low expectations of the scenery during lunch! If you like a live circus come back at midnight! You have awesome bartenders and the jukebox blaring! And if you bring your girl be aware these piranhas don't care and they will eat her up. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because I was enjoying myself and a White guy called me a "n***er" and told me to "get the fuck out of here". A little shocking!! More shocking...Cronins staff heard this and did nothing. So my overall take?? Pork Tenderloin sandwich is comicly huge, tastes amazing, and will put you in a food coma if consumed all in one sitting. The clientele is a combination of friendly, good and interesting people, but also extremely creepy, trashy low-lifes. I'm conflicted, I come to this spot at least 2-4 times a month. Bartenders are great and every time I come I've never once had anything but an amazing time! But this Saturday (12/11) went in with friends from out of town as we were finishing up our bachelor party. Immediately as we walked in and made our way to the bar a shorter older women walked up to us aggressively saying we look to young to be here, asking us for ID before identifying who she was along with another women. We ignored her thinking she's just some random drunk person as she definitely wasn't sober at the time. It wasn't until she told us to get out did I acknowledge her and asked her who she was and if she was part of the staff. She stated she was the owner. We gave our ID's to her, she took it to the bartender who looked at it and said yes they are old enough. She questioned the bartender asking if she was sure, the bartender again said yes. Gave us back the ID's and said happy birthday for no reason. We left, I don't know if I will go back anytime soon which sucks because this was one of my favorite neighborhood spots. read more

First time here. A friend told me they had good burgers but we were looking for a REAL taco Tuesday and they have one. $1 beef and $1.50 chicken tacos. We went in and sat and started to see that everyone was drinking their dinner and thought maybe we should just leave. After 10-15 minutes I went up to the bar and asked how we can order some tacos that we had been here for a while. The waitress said she had just gotten there for shift change and would be right over. Once she knew we were there she gave great service with drinks and tacos and the tacos were great! I would go back but I would have to convince my husband. read more

my boyfriend and I heard about Cronin's from a friend of ours and from the first night we were hooked! we walked in and the music was actually good and not obnoxiously loud (not something usual for bars nowadays) and Ryan, the bartender is amazing at what he does, he was the only one on staff that night -- there was a good handful of people seated through out the bar and table tops so we were very impressed that we always had a full glass and great service and every time we've gone in since the first time we've had the same great experience :) read more
