I was super excited to try this bar! The outside area was great and even had connect 4(large) for the kids to play with. Our server was nice, but seemed a little busy(not as attentive). I tried one of their new drinks off their new seasonal menu, the rum and coke with cream. It was not my favorite, something about it was just off. When we received our appetizers I have to say the fried pickles had to be one of my favorites. The way they fry them are superb! When it came to the shrimp on my Caesar, it actually made me sick:( and my mom's mashed potato's were flavorless and she could not eat them. Other than food upsets it seemed like a lively place even on a week night!

You have lots of choices in the Lenexa area for a burger or a beer, but Murphy's Corner has a little edge to it. Pretty good eats, great specials, and a full bar makes for a solid dining option for solos, couples, or families. You'll find Murphy's Corner nestled into a strip center facing 87th. The owner apparently did catering prior to opening this space and you can certainly tell with the food. The menu has lots of options, from standard pub fare to housemade pizza to some rather artisanal salads. I'd suggest the chicken sandwich, hand-breaded and fantastic. Or even the Hinkle, roast beef & thinly cut pork tenderloin with a sweet pepper aioli, is a fabulous sandwich. But don't miss that happy hour from 2:00-6:00 on weekdays. The smashburger special runs $6 for a single, and even that is a fair-sized burger, and maybe share a side with someone special. The smashed patty(s) come with the usual accoutrements, including a 'special sauce' that makes the smash a smash. Secret of the pros: get two patties, because it's worth the extra $3 and it's sensational. If there is any knock, then it might be the speed of service. Having stopped in several times, I don't think I have ever had the kind of turnaround that I can get many other places. But the food often makes it worth the wait, so I can only knock it for one star. Pricing is fair and certainly on the level with the area, parking is shared with other spots along the strip, and the atmosphere is wonderful. There are a TON of TVs in all directions, and you can even sit on the patio in nicer weather. It's a neighborhood spot with great food, great atmosphere, and great specials. Get there.

Just updating my review. Still a super cool spot, above is all still true, however just having frustrations getting service from some of the staff when I go in on Fridays between 3 and 5pm. They're super nice but 20ish minutes without getting a drink order taken is definitely less than ideal, especially when it's not busy.

The Staff is aways friendly and helpful. They will check up on you frequently. The Salad is a huge portion and I don't think I have ever been able to eat it all at once. But it makes for a great lunch for the next day. Later in the evening and on the weekend there is usually a live performer playing music. Also love going here with friends.

As of September 5th, this is hands-down the best fish and chips I've had--not just in a Kansas City bar, but anywhere. The portions were massive: thick, tender cuts of fish wrapped in a perfectly hand-battered crust. The creamy dill tartar sauce was an inspired match, adding just the right pop of flavor with each bite. I like to alternate with a splash of malt vinegar, while dunking my fries into hot sauce and ketchup for extra kick. The fries themselves were a standout--served extra crispy and golden. The slaw was crisp, fresh, and a refreshing balance to the richness of the dish. Altogether, a remarkable plate that sets a new bar for fish and chips."

Service has always been on point. This time we went for brunch. Served hot and fresh! Brunch cocktails served as well. Live music, Chiefs games and more!

This is the old Calahan's that was picked up by a whole new crew and rebranded this last spring! The food is fantastic! And now that they are offering brunch expect even more varied kitchen options. Pictured you should find the shrimp and grits from their Brunch! The bar is a full service with quite a few options and extremely competent and accommodating bartenders who can shake you up most concoctions or pour your beer whichever is your pleasure. The staff is amazing! They are quick when they need to be but also attentive and even talkative when the atmosphere allows for it. This IS my new Neighborhood Bar. I look forward to seeing you here... I'll be in the cap. Also tell Jessica I sent you.

If you are looking for a great sports bar with some good food then you need to check is out. This location/restaurant was originally callaghan's but changed name and menu. I think it's a better menu and the staff is really nice and attentive. Perfect place to watch a chiefs game!

Parking was ample outside and we came in right about dinner time. We were sat immediately and I soon had a nice red beer. The cheese burgers were the special, so I opted for one of those with fries + the "my girlfriend isn't hungry" add of a couple chicken strips and some extra fries. The burger was perfect, but I've gotta say...for being a place called *Burg* and Barrel, their chicken strips are the best. They're juicy, the breading is fantastic, and they're always just really high quality. We came in while they were starting the trivia night deal, which I couldn't care less about, but if that's something you're a fan of...it's a thing here. Overall it was just another fantastic meal at the best burger/brew chain in the KC area.

Box sizes and to-go orders don't really have a good presentation or fit with the amount of food you normally get while dining in at the restaurant. But Burg and Barrel has it down. Everything travels very well. And they are good at ensuring they have the right boxes for the right items. Venting in place to keep the fries (or tots) from steaming up and getting soggy. Boxes that are big enough for the full sandwich and a full order of fries. Snagged a beer while I waited and didn't even make it all the way through before the bartender showed up with our to-go order. Then speaking of Ambiance... we got to sit in my awesome living room and wolf down burgers and a steak salad while watching the movie of choice for the night. The muscly bartender guy was nice enough but a big air head bc he forgot the guy's drinks beside me 2x... and it wasn't even busy, maybe 25 people in the whole place. Worst part was that they added 20% gratuity automatically but didn't tell me! I was ready to go & he took forever so I just handed him my card. He returned just the signature slip & I signed it but also asked for a copy for my expense report. Took 5 minutes for that & when I got it, I realized they added 20% gratuity, but yet the signature receipt didn't indicate that anywhere that tip was already added, so I accidentally tipped 50%! I didn't realize til I got back to my hotel & they didn't answer when I called back (it was 10pm). I was so mad, and when I called back the next day, the lady told me to call again around 4 & when I did, they didn't answer.
