Nice local dive bar with fairly priced food and beverages. My friend and I felt like we were welcomed into a new family's house. The live music was pretty decent especially for a Wednesday night also.

I liked the daily food and drink special values, which are listed on FB under "about" and currently include $5.49 cheeseburgers with side (Tue), $0.75 hard shell tacos, $1.00 soft shell tacos, and $3.50 burritos (Thu), and $1.50 chili dogs (Sat & Sun). My $5.49 cheeseburger with waffle fries was served with a smile in just eight minutes. The tasty burger stood 3.5" tall when assembled, was generously sized, and had plenty of cool, crisp, and fresh toppings on a perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, beef patty. The waffle fries were over-cooked, but still okay. The service at the bar was welcoming, friendly, attentive, and efficient. I was surprised by the spacious and clean interior, which included plenty of TVs, a good variety of background music (not too loud), free wi-fi, a big bar, a nice seating area, a dance floor, two pool tables, two electronic dart boards, a golden tee golf game, a spacious patio, and (unfortunately) a very trashy exterior. Overall, very nice.

A great end to ladies night at this dirty dive. If you are looking for a cheap night out or a place to watch "the game" - head to The Pour House and order a large draft beer, chips, and salsa. As expected, the bathrooms weren't super clean and a few gnats flew around our drinks - but hey, it's all part of the dirty dive aesthetic, right?

Dingy dive bar with lots of specials. The place filled up as the evening wore on. Thursday's are 75 cent hard shell taco night ($1 for soft) and 1.50$ wells. Drinks are poured more on the light side in terms out alcohol, but 1.50$ is dang cheap. There were two waitresses for the entire bar, so at times, it took a little bit before we got service. You can always go to the bar to order as well. I also ordered the beef nachos, which were perfectly cheesy, greasy, and crunchy. Overall, my tab for 3 wells, 3 tacos, and a platter of nachos were $17.50. No complaints.

Pretty good eats, great specials, and a full bar makes for a solid dining option for solos, couples, or families. You'll find Murphy's Corner nestled into a strip center facing 87th. The owner apparently did catering prior to opening this space and you can certainly tell with the food. The menu has lots of options, from standard pub fare to housemade pizza to some rather artisanal salads. I'd suggest the chicken sandwich, hand-breaded and fantastic. Or even the Hinkle, roast beef & thinly cut pork tenderloin with a sweet pepper aioli, is a fabulous sandwich. But don't miss that happy hour from 2:00-6:00 on weekdays. The smashburger special runs $6 for a single, and even that is a fair-sized burger, and maybe share a side with someone special. The smashed patty(s) come with the usual accoutrements, including a 'special sauce' that makes the smash a smash. Secret of the pros: get two patties, because it's worth the extra $3 and it's sensational. If there is any knock, then it might be the speed of service. Having stopped in several times, I don't think I have ever had the kind of turnaround that I can get many other places. But the food often makes it worth the wait, so I can only knock it for one star. Pricing is fair and certainly on the level with the area, parking is shared with other spots along the strip, and the atmosphere is wonderful. There are a TON of TVs in all directions, and you can even sit on the patio in nicer weather. It's a neighborhood spot with great food, great atmosphere, and great specials. Get there.

We had a good, quick evening meal. Our server was quick to stop by and greet us to let us know…read moreshe'd be back soon. I like having a moment to get settled in at the table. She came back and took our drink orders and was back in a short time to take our food orders. Mom went with the Cuban sandwich and cole slaw. I had the Patty Melt with curly fries. There were a few tables that mostly already had their food, so it didn't take long for ours to arrive. Mom's Cuban was not really a Cuban sandwich. It might have had a few ingredients that you'd see on a Cuban, but it was not a Cuban. It was certainly edible, but needs a new name to avoid confusing expectations and reality. I had a small taste of the red pepper aoli on the sandwich and I liked it; she wasn't a big fan of the sauce. She liked the cole slaw, but it did have a different "flair" to it that I can't exactly pin point. I'm not a fan of celery seeds, so my tiny taste of it won't count. My curly fries were typical out-of-the-freezer fries. I'm not surprised, but they seemed to be the bottom of the bag with mostly tiny pieces. They had been overcooked a tad, which I appreciate them not being soggy, but they were just a tiny bit overly crunchy (likely because of them being tiny pieces), so they were a bit dry and could have used salt. Our table didn't have salt, I'm sure I could have requested salt since I did see some at another table. I made do with the ketchup. My sandwich was good. My preference would have been for the bread to have been toasted/grilled. It maybe had been grilled a bit, but not in a crispy way I'm used to for a patty melt. The burger was tasty and the grilled onions and mushrooms were really good. The dining room has high top tables at the entrance, then low top tables and booths if you go down a few steps to another area. They do have a door that is at street level to the lower dining area for guests who have difficulty with stairs. We don't end up in Shawnee for meals very often these days, but we appreciated the good service. The food was not bad; there are things we'd order differently, but it certainly was edible and not of poor quality.

Still nothing and the waitress said the drink should be coming out. 25 minutes later I asked about the drink and the waitress confirmed the order was in. 5 min later and the hostess came with the drink. Food came out sooner after. There was musician there that night and we had gone thru 3 songs and his intermission before we got anything we ordered. Overall food was ok. Ribs are good and sticky. Burnt end pillows - you couldn't tell if it was just chopped beef. Not to write about the chicken sliders. Pretzel bites were like a cut up long piece with a toasted texture instead of a chewy inside. So we asked for the bill. Took 5 min to get that. We had some gift cards. Our waitress struggled with that and another waiter assigned. Overall it took another 20 min to pay the bill. The waitress came out with the bill onetime. I gave her my number for the rewards. Then, she was gone another 5 min and came back out with things for another table. I showed her the gift cards and she said she would come back. Another waiter came to take the cards and receipt. Another 5 min when she disappeared. The waitress came back with the bill with deducted gift cards and my credit card. But she didn't bring a pen. In short, they were slow in all aspects - initial order, drinks, food, and bill. What should have been a 45 minutes stay was more like 1 hr and 40 min. Food is decent but be ready for a long wait if your staff has more than 3 tables.
