Tried this place on a whim while visiting KC, it was close to our hotel and highly recommend. Really friendly staff and seated quickly on the patio to enjoy this beautiful day. Fried pickles were delish! Nicely breaded, hot and so good. Burgers were good, my husband and I split one since they were huge. This place gave me local feels in the sense I could tell there were a lot of neighborhood folks there and it was "their place" you know, that was good and familiar to them and they keep coming back! We ordered online for carry out. We ordered tenderloin sandwich with fries and a Cubano with chili along with a pound of chicken gizzards. The order was prepared and ready for pick up when we checked a few minutes before they estimated and we headed out on our short drive home. The fries were a little underdone but still tasty. I loved the toasted bun for the tenderloin along with the tenderloins crispy breading, but the tenderloin itself was pretty bland even with the special sauce they provided in a tiny cup. The meat inside of the tenderloin was a very, very thin slice of pork. It was a bit dried out and leathery. The meat lacked flavor that the breading couldn't make up for. It was edible, but not something I'd order again. While I didn't order the Cubano, I did end up eating the pulled pork that was on it later because Mom didn't feel like it really went with the sandwich. The smoky pork was very tasty, but I can see where maybe it didn't quite match for that sandwich. The chili was definitely not something that I enjoyed or would ever even consider ordering again. It had some kind of fatty blobs in it that were very icky and had a stale oily flavor. I'm not sure if they used hamburger meat that had been cooked on the grill or something, but it just had an odd greasy flavor. I thought the gizzards were pretty good; others found them too tough. Gizzards aren't something I sit around craving, but definitely not bad if you like them. We appreciated the well-packaged (mostly compostable) items. Much better than a lot of the flimsy stuff you get for take out. We definitely want to try the place again. It was our first visit and we could see the potential, just need to try a few things to see what we like best. read more

Great service. Very helpful when I didn't know what to get. We ordered the royal balls which are essentially fried mashed potatoes inside a fried ball. Delicious. A family vacation to Missouri landed us in Overland Park last night after the KC Chiefs game! The front desk at WaterWalk recommended Coach's for dinner, so off we went. Less than a 5 min drive from the hotel meant we wouldn't have to drive far for dinner which worked out perfectly for everyone. A party of 5, we were sat immediately with no wait even though the restaurant was busy and scattered with fellow Chief fans and talk of a wedding rehearsal dinner in the back room. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and funny! The restaurant was dimly lit, and games were on the TV's at the bar. It felt like one of the more high-end sports bars I've been to. We ordered the Salted Caramel White Russians, Royal Balls, and Fried Pickles for starters. The royal balls are big loaded & fried mashed potato balls! They were amazing! The pickles were huge, crisp and the breading was fantastic. The dinks were super good, however the bartender forgot the whiskey in them. Turns out he was new so he just needs to learn the drinks a bit more. For dinner we ordered the Piggy Melt, Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese, Pot Pie, Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, Buffalo chicken strips with fries and a few more drinks. Everything was so good! The pot pie was to great, the Mac n cheese amazing but those tacos though! Huge shrimp! This place, with the fun ambience and customer service were truly outstanding, and made our dinner experience a memorable one. Stopped by for lunch. Tried chiefs wings and fried pickles as an appetizer and chicken pot pie. Fried pickles were different than I've had before as they use a pickle spear instead of a chip. Very well executed. The pot pie was my favorite and perhaps the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Nice rich, creamy and flavorful filling with a healthy portion of chicken. The pastry was substantial and was a golden flaky. Would definitely return for the pot pie!! read more

First time at Coach's. It was very convenient to our hotel by the OP convention center. Typical sports bar with lots of TVs and and games on. Bathrooms and restaurant seemed relatively clean, altho all the sticky menus could use a scrub. Our waitress was great. I ordered the Reuben and she advised me that they serve it club style with a 3rd piece of bread in the middle. This was helpful so I could request to not have it. Sandwich was ok. It didn't have any Swiss cheese in it and the 1000 Island dressing came on the side. So it was VERY dry. But it was fine as Steph brought me more sauce to put on it. read more

I met a few friends here for happy hour on a Thursday. We were seated right away. Our server came by and I asked about happy hour, she said it didn't start until 3pm it was 2:45. We asked for waters, she brought them back then asked for what we wanted, we told her we would wait for happy hour. This seemed to bother her. When she came back after 3pm for our drinks she wasn't very friendly. After bringing our drinks, someone else came to ask if we wanted food, she was very nice. Later our original server came back and was friendly and nice. I am not sure what happened but glad her outlook changed. It was a good time. For happy hour they have bogo on wells and calls and wine. The drinks were pretty strong. We order fries and chicken livers and both came out hot and were tasty. I would like to sit out on the patio on a nice sunny day one day. Sorry I didn't take a pic of the patio . This place was pretty chill, not super busy but not empty. I would go back, especially for happy hour. read more

Came here for an after party and had the whole back room reserved for us. That was cool. Waiters were still very attentive even with everyone coming in all at once and it being crazy back there! lol. I got the southwest chicken wrap . It was good. Not great. The waitress had suggested it and I do love a wrap so I was a little sad this wasn't amazing but I still enjoyed it. Fries were pretty good. The sauce was great too! Would definitely come back to try something else next time too! read more

The onion straws were delicious, the best thing we ate. The salad was a regular house salad with a regular ranch dressing, the bowl was wonky and the salad kept falling out the bottom. Bacon Cheddar Burger was cooked perfectly but lacked any seasoning. The bacon could have been cooked more, was not crispy. Fries were also not crispy. The worst thing was the chicken pot pie, the crust was close to being burnt and very dry. It was packed with his tasting chicken but there was little too no gravy/sauce inside. With as dry as the crust and no liquid inside it was unpleasant to eat. It also looked like a good sized piece but the bowl was extremely shallow (which maybe why there was no gravy, no room for it) but I could only eat half of it as is. Sad to say but I've had better 99 cent frozen pot pies. Service was ok. read more

My son and I came after his soccer game about 1:30 on Sunday. We asked about the hours and they are just open basically for games so check on Sunday before coming. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The fries and chicken were cooked perfectly. The sandwich was tender and juicy and the fries were so crispy but yet soft on the inside. My son ordered a bacon cheddar burger and was in heaven. The food is always great. We will be back for sure. The space was also very clean and great views of games all around. read more

I ordered the Santa Fe salad and it was ok. The grilled chicken was rubbery, avocado was not ripe and the salad was not fresh. My husband had the buffalo wings. We love Coach's. This location was formerly Fred P Otts for many years. They did a great job on the renovation. It was very busy on the Friday night we visited with a large holiday party and several Groups. We were seated promptly and they got our beverages to us quickly. The food came out relatively fast considering the large crowd. I love Coach's club sandwich with homemade chips. It hit the spot as always. Wife enjoyed the Friday fish special. read more

Frequent flyer at the Coach's close to my house but the inside of this one is much better. The patio is nice but doesn't compare to the rooftop of the other one. Food is always good at Coach's. Best ranch you can get. The buffalo tenders are to die for but seemed more like the Chicken Lips you get from another local sports bar. But they were better than those and so good. This new sports bar is off to a good start during its soft opening. They have moved some of the employees and memorabilia from the 103rd St KCMO location (which flooded out years ago) into a nice OP location that has a patio with firepits, and a new covered area with garage doors (which is still under construction). My pulled pork sandwich with choice of side ($9.50) was served just eight minutes after I ordered. The Carolina-style sandwich was generously sized, with plenty of tasty, moist pulled pork and cole slaw on a buttered, toasted bun with choice of side. I liked the fast, friendly service, and the remodeled wood tone interior, which offers a nice bar area, a fireplace room (with another one in the works), and a nice dining area with classic rock music background music and free wi-fi. read more

Server was obviously super busy but doesn't excuse the rude attitude and comments to the guests. People are standing around in the way because the room that was to be reserved for a group that is there weekly wasn't properly handled. You can't expect a group of 20 that even confirmed their reservation days before to be seated at 2 tables that hold 8 people max. Very unorganized every week and always act surprised like the group that has been reserving the same space for a few years now was an unplanned event. read more

Great spinach dip, super nice patio and tasty drinks. This place is farther south than I usually go, and it's sort of hidden, so I wouldn't be surprised if the people there on a weekly basis are regulars. The waitress was nice and the bartenders were very accommodating, even to the people up there drinking maybe a little too much for a Tuesday night. But hey i'm not judging!! Check it out if you're out this way and expect very traditional bar food. I think the patio is the biggest pull, so try and get a spot out there if you can. read more

We were staying nearby and needed a late bite so chose Coach's. They were packed and LOUD -- TV's on loud and patrons very loud. We were too tired to find another place so we stayed. Service was very prompt and the food was good. DH had the tenderloin sandwich and I had the BLT. Both were very good. There was plenty of bacon on my sandwich and it was crispy and taste. Fries were the frozen variety but OK. We were traveling so probably won't go back but I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Go. for. happy. hour. My company does happy hours here often and they are great at setting up seating for a large group. I recommend making a reservation, which isn't something most people think about with a bar and grill but this place gets busy. We walked in with our team and were surprised to find everyone there on a Wednesday had a reservation and those without one had to wait. You can definitely tell this is the kind of place that has its regulars. It is very much a neighborhood bar and the walls are covered with sports memorabilia. The food is pretty decent for any bar grill atmosphere. It isn't like the best food I have ever had, but if you're drinking a beer and want a burger, their food does the trick. The wait staff is super friendly and patient dealing with larger groups. If is farther South than I typically go to eat or drink, but it is right by my office. Beer was delicious, local and ice cold. I got fried pickles that were great and a Buffalo chicken wrap that had some kick to it. Fries were crispy and seasoned. Food was awesome! Locals who go there are friendly. I met a guy who was telling me a few jokes in prep for a standup routine. What a cool experience. Coach's is fantastic! It's a great sports bar that's kind of in odd spot. It's in the parking lot of a corporate area. My wife, myself and 2 friends got a bunch of cocktails and split the onion straws. I recommend getting bbq sauce with onion straws takes them to the next level. The Cherry limeade cocktail I got was elite - you'd honestly question if there was alcohol in it. The service overall was pretty good - we came in at a odd time/shift change so our waitress disappeared for a second but it was no biggie! Def will check this place out during football season! read more

The new location and the amount of space inside are spacious, with lots of different rooms to eat dinner. They have an extensive menu with all of the regular bar food items. Unfortunately, their reputation for having sub-par food is still the case. I have been going to Coaches since childhood, college, and the present. This restaurant was conveniently located across the main street from the Overland Park Marriott in a corporate mall. I wasn't familiar with this restaurant and Yelp had mixed reviews so I took a chance and found convenient parking during a weekend day. I'm sure during a regular workday, parking would be more difficult to find due to all the corporate suites surrounding this business. We were seated immediately and I instantly saw the Nashville Chicken Sandwich on their new menu list. I had the chicken fried vs grilled and it came with Cajun fries. The ambiance was casual with crowd noise from people watching sports on multiple TV screens. Servers were very attentive and service was very good during our stay.
