This review is for the restaurant. This place is amazing! The view to get there are worth the decently taken care of dirt road. We rode the side by side through the BLM land and took the hwy back to town. The kiddos enjoyed the playground before we headed back down the mountain.

Stayed here for 2 days last week and it was amazing. We parked right by our cabin, off loaded our 4-wheelers and hit the trails. We ate breakfast and dinner at their bar/restaurant and it was very good! The waitstaff was very friendly and the food was delicious. They also have a big area for a fire with seats all around. We roasted s'mores both nights. Looks like they are putting in RV pads as well.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes cabins and outdoors..

We brought our own food for our cabin but ended up eating in the restaurant also as the Prime Rib was excellent.

This was my first time staying in an honest to goodness Conestoga wagon, and it was truly luxurious. Not words I ever imagined typing. Pulling into Moose Creek Ranch was not immediately remarkable, but beginning to walk the grounds, I felt the persistent mountain breeze, heard the babbling Trail Creek, and saw the peaceful natural surroundings and well-manicured grounds all commanding my recognition. Then there were the comfortable environs of the ranch buildings, inclusive of the cozy lodge room, a game area, and a spot for breakfast, all with a chill music soundtrack wafting through. The staff were friendly through and through. We took advantage of a trail ride with Biscuit, our wrangler, the morning of the 4th of July, and enjoyed his capable, humorous guidance through a forest trail near the Ranch, capably tailed by Rooster the resident corralling canine. And now back to the Conestoga wagon. These things boasted bunk beds and a king size, with a full bathroom, small sitting area, pre-stocked mini bar with room for your own items, plentiful plugs/USB ports, and a highly capable mini-split AC system. Ridiculous (in a good way)! If the original Westward Ho movement had these things, Manifest Destiny would have hinged on thread-count, and we'd have never made it past Ohio. These things would be the Airstreams of the 1800s. Loved the experience. This might be the experience you needed, even if you didn't know it.

We were not disappointed! The location was ideal for the East park entrance and a quick shopping trip to Cody. Our hostess, Diana, could not be more accommodating. Although the cabins are designed with comfort in mind, we were able to enjoy the large deck each evening. Not having great WiFi service was not an issue - our teenage grandchildren found plenty of entertainment, most importantly learning how to play pool! In order to keep our group engaged, we held a pictorial scavenger hunt, 60-piece Lego contest for the grands and an all-inclusive art project where each grandchild drew something from the park on one canvas. Diana was gracious enough to allow us access to the dining hall so we could all be together during these activities and 'awards' ceremony! Finally, we all agreed that this holiday was at the top of our list of all our family gatherings. Should we find ourselves anywhere near this area in the future, there is no question we would once again stay at the Creekside Lodge!!!

The Dining room is set and you eat with other campers and hikers. They even let me ring the dinner triangle to let everyone in the cabins and around the lodge know that dinner was ready. We took an eight mile, over night hike to view Bridger Wilderness. The crew does pack trips, which means they will meet you on the trail with a pack horse full of supplies. This was so helpful. We are not the most experienced of hikers, and to have this option was perfect. We also took a day long ride on horseback. They packed us a lunch, and we took a guided trail ride. It was amazing! The horses were so friendly. While I am an experienced rider, my husband had never been on a horse. They have horses for all experience levels. Wayland (his horse) was perfect for him, and Rita was perfect for me. Everything about our trip was very authentic. From the dinner triangle, to the horses. From Stan teaching us about the "Tarzan call", and the other man cracking the whip and teaching one of the other campers to do it. Each morning and night there was a wood fire in the lodge, and a relaxing place to sit and visit, or play a board game by lantern light. Big Sandy is a family run lodge and everyone treats you as if you are part of their family.

Their rates for a guided 4 hour trip was well in the range for guided trip. I was very happy with our guide as well. He was very patient and worked the River very thoroughly. The River was also a private section, and we had more tha a mile of undisturbed fishing. We caught around 10 fish with a nice 14" cutthroat as the prime catch. I'm very unfamiliar with Wyoming, but the scenic sights overlooking the South Fork Valley were breathtaking every step of the way. Our guide introduced us to flora of region sharing their homeopathic uses and spoke of the remote wilderness within the Thorofare beyond the mountains in their backyard. Despite being late in the season nearing Mid-September when rides start to become unavailable in the region, the hosts were incredibly accommodating and cordial. We were able to make our reservation earlier that same day. My only regret was not scheduling more time to dine, drink, and explore the South Fork from the quaint and peaceful Double Diamond X Ranch. During my next visit to Wyoming, this Ranch will be high on my list of places to visit.
