After being overcharged by Big Veterinarian companies, I wanted to find a veterinarian that was not only local but also independently owned. I first brought our cat in who had been misdiagnosed by the big vet company. They had listed several tests he needed including a very expensive $800 ultrasound. Dr. Brian examined the cat, took an x-ray there in office for a very reasonable price, and showed me on the X-ray what my cat's problem was. He recommended a change in diet which has completely resolved my cat's problem. I brought in one of our dogs, and again, a veterinarian office with multiple locations, had misdiagnosed her with likely Cushing's disease. Dr. Brian ran additional blood work and ruled out Cushing's disease. His prices are fair and he has never recommended something that was outrageously expensive. I appreciate his honesty, his follow up phone calls which explain all of the test results, and showing photos on his computer of what a dog with Cushing's disease actually looks like. read more

Zip, zero, nothing good to say, they shaved him down with electric sheers, like he was a sheep. Then when I called to ask what the heck, it was my fault and she argued with me...I have had him groomed at this location before, but NEVER ever shear a double coat dog down like this. We asked if we wanted our dogs hair cut like last time. That led us to believe they kept records on how dogs hair was cut. We said yes, same as last time. Our dog is an American Eskimo. They have long white hair. Last time our dog looked great! This time, I didn't even recognize our dog. I was certain they had brought up the wrong dog. HE WAS SHAVED except for his head. When we called to talk about the haircut , first the groomer would not come to the phone. The second time she was belligerent, argumentative and said it was our fault. We are still confused as to how it is our fault. It's too bad because we really like the Vet.​ read more

This is the place to go!!! All of the staff is amazing and Dr. B is beyond caring. One of our fur babies had an emergency surgery and he was amazing!!! He even called at 10pm with an update. I was a wreck and they made me feel comfortable. Needless to say we have found our new vet. I can't say enough about what a pleasant experience we had in one of our scariest days. This time I'm given Lonestar vet one star. I foster dogs. I help dogs whenever nobody else wants to help the dogs. I have a really old foster dog he's ready to pass over the Rainbow Bridge. I called today and I spoke to Vicki. Vicki doesn't quite understand what the Rainbow Bridge is...so I kept having to use words such as "put to death," "euthanized," "put down," etc. And, as I'm crying my eyes out, Vicki then tells me to stop yelling at her. W..t..f...I have NEVER had this experience at this vet before and I'm so completely disappointed I don't know what to say or do. She generally wasn't interested in attempting to help me, or my foster pup, and I hung up from the phone call, basically, with the feeling that if my dog had to keep suffering, she didn't really care. Whether she's been there 10 yrs or 10 min, when you're speaking to a pet parent about having to make the decision to put their furry family member to sleep, ATTEMPT to garner some compassion and class. That is not what I'm used to from this vet. I've never encountered "Vicki" before and I hope I NEVER do. read more

I understand we're under a pandemic situation right now however it's been over 3 weeks the I've been requesting a prescription for 1 800 pet meds which they have been refusing to fill. I have been waiting patiently for them to take action on this matter. I called today and they said they would refuse to fill it with out seeing her first. I just wish that they had told me this when I 1st called trying to get an appointment and couldn't. Then I would have been waiting weeks on a response from them which I was told they were going to call me. This establishment is very unprofessional and I am officially changing vets. Not sure how to write this but our experience with everyone in the office has been and is amazing. Max our Boxer has lymphoma and they have been there for us every step of the way. They answer us after hours when I was worried sick, Dr. Bryant himself answered the phone and even called me back one time. He took the time to explain everything so we are prepared for this journey with our sick boy. The staff is so caring, I highly recommend this vet. Amanda B I agree things should try to be settled by dealing directly with the business but you did not reply to 4 emails I sent. You have a very unprofessional staff.. They are extremely rude. There was not just one incident with them. There have been many. They have lied about customers cussing at them just to justify their rude behavior. When I left a review on your website it was said that I gave false information by one of your employees but everything I said was 100% true. You did see my pet and I was denied access to her information. No one told me if she was given a flea treatment which is extremely important for me to know because she has a flea allergy and I didn't want to miss a dose or even worse give her an overdose. It took over 2 weeks of me trying to get my cat the care she needed while I was treated rudely on the phone and all emails were ignored. Then when my boyfriend finally got in touch with someone there he was told they would no longer treat my cat because of the review I had left. This is the VERY WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL vet clinic I have ever seen. YOU are the ones who won't try to settle things in a mature manor. You ignore clients. You DO NOT care about the pets. You have a rude uncaring staff. As soon as there is a disagreement you don't even try to talk things thru you just immediately dump the pet with no concern for their well being. I have never heard of not being able to access your own pets records just because you weren't at the aopointment. I gave all her information and was denied everything. On her chart you had her pain ranked at 4 and 5. 5 being severe and I couldn't stand seeing her in pain. All I wanted to do was get the rest of her medication that we were unable to get the day of her appointment and for someone to tell me about the flea treatment so I would know if I should give her one or not. I had her best interest at heart and not one person there would help me help her. They knew she was itching and in pain and nobody would let me get the rest of her medicine to help her just because I didn't go to her appointment. I have had her since 2017 because her previous owner had a stroke and could no longer care for her. You had her age wrong on her chart. I tried to let you know she was older in case she might need different care for being a senior. I tried to be an adult and talk to anyone at the clinic but I was ignored. And I don't know how you can say there was only one time your staff was rude. Read your reviews. Many people have said this about the staff including myself. I was polite. I was patient and at the end of the conversation I was in tears and I was treated like crap and told I was being the rude one. I couldn't even talk at the end because I keot getting cut off by the woman who wouldn't let me speak. Your clinic has a very immature, rude, uncaring and unprofessional staff. And to dump a patient when the first thing doesn't go your way. Yes I tried many times to take the mature route as you suggested to others but it's hard to do so when its one sided and nobody in the clinic will speak to you or reply to emails. They deleted their old Facebook page and their old reviews... beware. This is an updated review, I thought I had found a vet to take all of my pets to but I guess after today I was very wrong. My pet was turned away after my mother who took my dog waited for about 30 minutes in the waiting room, this was after speaking on the phone to Jessica, who I informed what time my mother would be there with my dog who is sick, I was told that this would be fine coming in as a walk in. I am VERY understanding and sympathetic that they had another emergency come in but, does my pet no longer matter? Also, to wait the amount of time while others who walked in were seen and then to encounter, Jessica who starts to babel like a drunken monkey and so called "Office Manager" who obviously doesn't care? I have NEVER met a practice that turns sick or injured pets away, my mother was more than willing to leave and come back to address my dogs situation but we were told that the doctor is not seeing anymore walk ins today. I am willing to look past the disorganized and moody front office staff at times to have kept coming here because hey, things happen. I was willing to wait a bit of time when attempting to do a simple task such as fill a prescription at the clinic HOWEVER, I am deeply disappointed and very offended by them turning my dog away, I will be taking my dog who is currently being seen at another vet as I type this and two cats elsewhere. First time I visited Dr. Bryant was 5 years ago when we had to put our family dog to sleep (she was very old, and had a large inoperable tumor). It was amazing how sympathetic and understanding they were considering we were all bawling our eyes out. Now, I take my own drive across town to take my own dog there because I trust Dr.Bryant. When you you have an appointment sometimes he will suggest several things, give you an estimate, an let you decide what to do. Other times everything checks out, and you're on your marry way. Either way I've never felt any pressure to buy anything, or to do something for my dog that was not necessary, or in my dog's best interest. Beware of this "vet" clinic. After I moved to here I was recommended this place for my 2 pets. I searched their reviews and saw the 5 stars and good reviews so I went to them. Under Bryant's care, within exactly 3 weeks, both of my pets were DEAD. As you can imagine, by our 2nd pets death, we were livid and stormed into the clinic demanding answers. 3 different stories later, Bryant had the NERVE to fake cry as if he felt any kinds of compassion for our pup who had just died in his hands getting ready to be spayed. He couldn't even tell us exactly what drugs they combined to get her to sleep for the surgery. It wasn't until we left with our dead puppy, that we started putting things together and realized our cat 3 weeks earlier, could have been saved too. That negligence played a role I his death as well. He was sent home at the end of the day with no treatment when his blood sugars had dropped very low and wouldn't answer his phone after I left even though he said to call if anything happens. My cat seized shortly after and I was ignored. By the time I found a hospital near me, it was too late. It's convenient they no longer have Facebook reviews, they seemed to have deleted them or made a new page with no reviews. Go figure. Save your pets and your wallet, find a new vet. read more

It's very unprofessional that it takes a public forum for you to reply despite we sent you a detailed email initially after our dog was mistreated but were ignored. Our dog had severe reaction on medication and it was obvious to us even without medical education, but dr. Bryant was still insisting on continuing with this medication. If he doesn't know how to treat eyes, he should tell us from day 1 and reject treatment and we would go somewhere else, instead our dog is half blind and it will take us a lot of time and money for our dog to return back to normal. read more

I brought both my dog and cat to Dr Bryant @ Lonestar Vet today for the first time for yearly visit. Both animals were extremely nervous but the entire staff played a role in making the experience WONDERFUL! The receptionist and tech were very friendly and gathered information upon arrival. Dr Bryant came in and immediately sat down on my dogs level. He spent time talking to me about what to expect during the visit. During this time, he was bonding with my dog and making him more comfortable by petting him while talking to me. Nerves and anxiety from my animals turned into slobbery kisses, a wagging tail and reduced "meows!!" HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

I boarded my Toy Fox Terrier here while I was out of town for the weekend. The reception staff was very professional and the facilities looked in excellent condition. I was confident that they would take good care of my dog; so I was very surprised by the condition I found him in when I returned. They told me he was "uncooperative" and had me go into the kennel area to retrieve him. I found him cowering in the corner of a bare kennel, absolutely terrified. There was nothing in the kennel with him but a small spilled bowl of water; none of the things I brought for him from home. I had to crawl into the kennel and call his name several times before he looked up and recognized me, then he jumped into my arms, shaking. There was blood in his fur and several long cuts on his face. They told me that he cut himself while struggling with a rabies pole they used on him. I also noticed the burst blood vessel in his eye, which I know is caused when a dog is strangled with a rabies pole. But the kennel attendant politely informed me that the blood would probably wash out of his fur. I am not a vet, but I would think a veterinary clinic would be capable of restraining a scared 15lb dog without strangling him with a rabies pole. My dog is a generally friendly, well-mannered little guy, so if he was unruly or aggressive, I would think it was because they were obviously mistreating him. He still has scars on his face, and now he won't let anyone try to pick him up or touch the back of his head. So thank you, Lonestar, for permanently scarring and traumatizing my dog. read more

We've been going to this vet for 6 years, bought the plans, etc. Then a couple of weeks ago when our dog was injured on a Saturday morning, they said they were "too busy to see him," but could make an appointment for Monday. Since I didn't want to leave him hurt all weekend I found another vet - also busy on a Saturday morning, but who saw him, took xrays and got him medicine. I emailed Dr. Bryant, thinking perhaps this was just a mistake on the part of his staff. Instead I get an email from his wife, blaming me for not calling it in as an emergency on Friday night, giving me a sob story about how hard they work, and then proceeds to tell me she's cancelled our plan and we owe them $181, due in 14 days or they'll send it to collections. It's a shame, because we liked Dr. Bryant, but the way this was handled means we have a new vet. read more

All this guy is worried about is making money on you. Took my dog in yesterday with a cyst that popped out of no where and started bleeding. After waiting for 20 minutes to be seen they took her back to be looked at. After 5 minutes they bring her back and the first thing out of his mount was while they have her under to do the surgery we should get her teeth cleaned for 200 dollars more....What the heck??? So they bring me a estimated bill of close to 500 dollars with a teeth cleaning on it and I tell them I'm not interested in the teeth cleaning only the cyst removal. They then tell me that if I take off the teeth cleaning off it would cost 300 dollars more then the original 500 dollars because all the charges would be separated. Total scam don't go to this guy! read more

I will not use this place again. When i first walk in it stinks, i waited to be seen for over an hour but when i did get into the room i waited yet again, the doctor was good at explaining everything to me about my puppy. It was a lot of back and forth into the room and to the back between the tech and the dr. Which was annoying because my puppy kept trying to run out the door each time. I don't see why they can't come in once or twice to get things done instead it was more like 8 times. Now when i went to check out the front was very rude, A lady name Amanda. She really needs to learn how to speak to clients. So over all the front and the time needs a lot of fixing. Seems like they don't have a routine. Let's not for get the flys. There were at least 10 flys in the office that i saw. Normally I'll see like one or two but that tells me with the smell they don't clean right! read more

Dr Bryant is a wonderful good doctor. The staff and office manager, are all horribly rude, disorganized , do not know which end is up and I'm pretty sure a little mentally deranged. I have taken 3 dogs there for the last 7 years and have heard so many stories of rude treatment and Mistakes by the staff. I recently discovered what everyone has been complaining about. I was accused of saying something I did not say and was yelled at about it for a full five or six minutes by a staff member. Never have I been so humiliated in my entire life. Also a few months ago I was told that both of my dog's medical plans had ended and yet I receive a bill now after being kicked out of there for the remainder of one of my dog's medical plans which does not even exist any longer. read more

I came in today for medication and while waiting a lady came charging out of a room telling everyone in the lobby that she will never come back to this office again and how she was going to write a horrible review. I, as a long time client here can tell you the tech never once was rude and walked out telling her she apologized for the confusion. She was very polite where I myself would have told her to go suck an egg. This clinic has been nothing but wonderful to my pet and myself. ***I can not say enough about how amazing Dr. Bryant & his wonderful staff have been!!*** My mom's neighbor recommended Dr. Bryant when I mentioned my dog was due to have puppies and needed a check-up. I had a regular vet, but he does not do emergencies ---AT ALL! When my Chihuahua had problems delivering her puppies in the middle of the night Dr. Bryant actually answered the phone, and walked us through what we should do. Then he called back to check on her. Two days later (on Sunday) Dr. & Mrs. Bryant opened the office to do a check-up, then surgery on my baby. About a week later, (when she was having some complications) he performed another surgery and watched over her until eleven o'clock at night, when he felt it was safe for me to take her home! I'm sure most people are thinking I probably paid a fortune, but they would be WRONG! Dr. Bryant charged me less than my previous visit to the Emergency Clinic (that stays open all weekend!) Lonestar Veterinary Hospital has saved my baby's life twice, which is priceless--- and I am incredibly grateful! I don't know what I would have done without them. We had an appointment today at 3:00pm. When we arrived, we were told by the first technician that the doctor cannot "help" us muzzle out dog because he is too busy right now. She told us that the doctor only have 30 minutes for each appointment and he has countless of it right now. If we can't put on the muzzle ourselves then we have to bring him back on another day. They told us that normally (we have been with them for almost 2 years) when my dog come, the doctor have to stop EVERYTHING he is doing to help put on the muzzle on my dog. I agree that my dog is a bit aggressive. Afterward, we were greeted by the manager who also bring up the concerns that our dog is becoming more and more aggressive. She said that it would be inhumane of them to try to put the muzzle on this time and basically tell us the exact same thing. Here's my thought about this. The only reason why we are staying with this hospital is because they are able to deal with our dog. Mind you, he is only a small 9lbs Pomeranian. The doctor usually handle him real easy, and I have seen him doing that in a very professional fashion, like instantly, not with 30 minutes as the two staff ladies claimed today. Dr. Bryant is a great doctor. However, during our 1-hour visit today, we were not able to even see him, although we clearly have an appointment. When I ask to see the vet myself, the manager come to the backroom and then come back telling me that he is TOO BUSY right now?? I have an appointment or not? I didn't have a chance to even meet my vet with an appointment. One more thing that I dislike about our exchange today is the attitude of the staff toward my wife. I don't think they are very nice and welcome toward her. When she smile at our dog while the staff tried to put on the muzzle, she was upset, accusing my wife of thinking muzzling him is entertaining. My wife was very upset about this, so after talking with the manager and went nowhere from that, I decided to move on to another vet hospital. I like Dr. Bryant very much but I don't want to be treated as second tier customer. I write this down so that people can judge for themselves. Here's what my wife said about the whole visit: As normal when my dog needs to go to the Vet, I would call and make an appointment for him. Like a normal checkup routine to the vet, but who know it would end up like this. As I pick up the phone and call the vet to make an appointment for my dog. The front desk person stated that they have an opening at 3:00 pm today, so I instantly book that appointment. Waiting for the whole day for my appointment time to come then drive to the vet to get my baby check, so he feels better. When I came I sign-in as usually and wait until a technician calls me into one of the room. As Fluffy name was called I carry him into the room and tell the technician his symptoms then she as usually stated the vet will be in with you a moment like as usual. However, this time I waited forever and don't see the vet then another staff came in and ask me if I can muzzle my dog. If not then they will have to send me home with the drug to sedate him then bring him back another day because they can't only the vet can but he in another room help others? Instantly in my mind stated I came all the way here and wait for about an hour and now you guys are just going to refuse taking care of my dog, what is that all about? I immediately ask the staff what wrong this isn't this my appointment time, plus this is not the first time you have to deal with him, or are you guy busy too busy today? The staff answer is "it takes around 30 minutes for the vet to take care of each client and he is busy. Also, "it takes a lot of time to muzzle Fluffy like 30 minutes." Well, she did not answer my question, and then I ask again "are you too busy today then I can make another appointment next time? The staff asks me to wait then walk out and have another come in and replay the same things to me when I ask again why can't you muzzle or deal with Fluffy this time? This time another answer "because he is getting aggressive each time, so it very hard for us, each time we muzzle him it traumatizing him, you may laugh about it but it is tram zing to him, it is inhuman". After she made that statement "I was piss, she just accuse me to taking pleasure from my baby sadness." Each time the vet had to muzzle him, I feel the pain with him top because he would always look at me with a sympathetic face like screaming for help, but what can I do I can't cry it will make matter worse, I can only smile to comfort him. And because of that smile you auto accusing me of laughing as amusing, I have you know I love him the most in this house, I have spoiled this little baby rotten, and you here stated I happy that he hurt. If you guys don't have time to deal with him, just stated it doesn't have to personal attack and being rude to clients. read more

We switched vets two weeks ago after a tragic and negligent mistake made by our previous vet. He actually got on the floor to examine our dog. We brought our other dog to him and the same thing. He was on the floor playing with him before examining him for 15 minutes and gave us a thorough consultation afterwards. Great staff and clean office. read more
