We stopped by Yellowhammer Brewing to try a brew and check out the place. It was a rainy day and the inside was dark and dreary feeling to me. The bright tv screens seemed to be the only colorful and bright colors in the room. There were 8 customers at 2:00 when we arrived. We ordered pizza and salad and found a table to sit at while we waited on the pizza and salad. Dave went to the bar and purchased one of Yellowhammer's IPA's. I am sorry we cannot remember the name. The beer was higher octane and served in a smaller portion. If the beer struck my palate, I would definitely remember the name. I didn't care for the taste at all. 3/5 I love IPA's from the brewery in Louisiana. I love their helles doppelbock too! It must be the swamp water used? We have tried a few beers from Yellowhammer. Their taste isn't what we prefer. It is great to have the brewery here in town so people who do like the brand can stop by and consume the beers. I will return again to try something else. Man oh man. How the times have changed. I've been visiting this brewery for around 8-9 years. When I first came I was blown away by the quality and variety offered in the taproom. Over time, the craft beer scene has changed. You don't see the frequent turnarounds that you used to. The beer quality is still there. I visited Yellowhammer brewery over the holidays and enjoyed the large variety of beer on draft. They had everything from lagers, pilsners, IPAs, dark beer, and sours. I tried 4 different types of beer and all of them were tasty. There's a pizza restaurant attached to the brewery if you want to order food while visiting the brewery. Large selection of canned beer to-go and I bought a six pack of the Oktoberfest. I ordered the Brilliant Pebbles because I prefer cider over standard beer. I'm glad I did because it tasted delicious and the berry flavors paired perfectly with the pizza I ordered from the restaurant attached. It was a group of 6 of us and we easily found a table in the covered patio area. Everyone loved their drinks. I see why this place has 4.5 stars! I visited Yellowhammer for the second time while visiting Huntsville again last week. I really enjoy the wide variety of beer types they have and that they rotate so that you can try something new! I love this location in Campus 805, so that you can get pizza right here or grab food from elsewhere on the campus if others in your group are in the mood for something different! The indoor seating at the bar and tables are nice, though it can get crowded so the outdoor seating is great! I love sitting on their patio in the summer, and the live music some nights is fun. Last time I visited I really enjoyed the rice lager they had on tap at the time, since you can't find it everywhere but it's so refreshing and smooth! On this visit I tried the Ciao, which was a limoncello wheat beer. It put me in mind of a sour with how tart it was, which I really enjoyed. Unlike some breweries, they also have some mixed drinks, which is nice if you're with a group and everyone isn't into beer. I'm glad this is where I started in Huntsville. I went there first because I heard they had a great Belgian beer. They have several good Belgian beers! The Belgian White was pretty incredible. Lately, though, I've been interested in the Belgian Tripels. The Miracle Worker Tripel hit the spot. It's a great beer. Just to get a taste of some of the other offerings, I did a flight. We went to Earth and Stone pizza but couldn't find it because it's inside Yellowhammer Brewing. We ordered a pizza from Earth and Stone, and beer from the brewery. The concept is cool with a dog friendly patio and an interior restaurant. Bae wasn't sure what beer to get so he took some suggestions from the bartender. He got the T-Minus Kolsch and the Belgian White. The wheat from the Belgian comes out of nowhere after you take a sip. The Kolsch has a hint of tangerine in it. We tried two darkish beers too. Score. Totally hit the jackpot with this craft brewery. The tangerine kolsch at Yellowhammer will go down in history as one of my all-time favorites. It has a really nice citrus punch into a really refreshing beer which was perfect for the Spring day. It is located at the 805 campus which has other breweries and businesses as well. Their seating was abundant and there was a mixture of outdoor/covered and outdoor/uncovered as well as indoor seating. Being that I live in Nashville I kept thinking that if they had a brewery there it would've been packed 24/7 but on a Sunday in Huntsville it was not even at half-capacity.
