Frank the manager was very helpful in terms of recommending items that I may have been craving. I've visited this location frequently and the food has always been on point in terms of quality and value. While I generally always get the Hot Chic sandwhich which is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, I opened for the chili oil dumplings which was new on the menu. It did not disappoint and left me wanting to eat more. The environment along with their staff is always pleasant and I'm glad it's one of my top places to visit frequently when I'm having a craving for Korean food. The double fried chicken is always crispy and their Wing Wednesday special in which a particular set of wings are $1.00 each is such a great value. It's honestly one of the best values in terms of what you get for quality and bang for your buck. If you haven't given this spot a try please do so, Cross Street has never disappointed me. Ordered the corn cheese (don't miss out), bulgogi fries, and multiple varieties of chicken (they come in orders of 5). There's seating inside and outside. Outside seating is also dog friendly. There's some plaza parking going on so feel free to take your car. Came on a Tuesday during lunch time and was able to get seated right away. I have been very curious about this place for a long time now and I finally made my way over here. I got here at 3 o'clock on a Monday and there was plenty of parking. Which was quite a relief . Wow! Cross Street is a hidden gem in the convoy area. They offer free parking for the first 90 minutes and then I believe you can get it validated as well. We came just before the lunch rush so our service was insanely fast. Our waiter was super friendly and gave great recommendations. They were out of the initial beer I had wanted to try so I went with the house blonde. I was personally not a fan, but I would definitely love to try their other house beers. When Cross Street first opened several years ago, it was one of the early dedicated KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) places in town. The business took over a former local chain taco shop on Convoy Street. The owner (Tommy) and his extended family run at least three of the other eateries in the same small plaza. Unfortunately, parking was very difficult in this lot, and it was free for up to 90 minutes. After that period, you have to scan a QR code and pay, otherwise your vehicle could be ticketed. I liked the ambiance of this location better than the newer venue in Del Mar because it felt more like a bar and grill with available outdoor patio seating. The menu has evolved to more than just KFC with various Asian fusion offerings added. KFC, daily lunch specials, and drinks were on one side of the laminated menu sheet. Entrees, shareables, and sandwiches made up the other side. There were now 13 different flavors to choose from for the wings or tenders. A separate catering menu with party tray quantities was also featured. I came by to place an order to go even though I could have dined in without a wait for a table. That was unusual for a weekend evening as it's normally packed. The wings now cost more than $2.50 per piece which was a turnoff. My selection was the Popcorn Chicken Fried Rice. Peas, carrots, and onions were mixed in with the rice that was topped with a fried egg. Several pieces of popcorn chicken were added to the dish. There was a heavy use of garlic in the fried rice. The chicken was overcooked and dry which was disappointing. This trip for takeout at Cross Street was a three star experience. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Cross Street so I was surprised to see their menu had changed. They no longer have the larger servings of wings and they have more entree options. I came here on a Sunday evening for dinner with some friends. The lot wasn't too crowded at dinner time and they offer free 90 minutes of parking when you eat at a restaurant. Cross Street has a handful of indoor tables and there is also an outdoor seating area. It wasn't too crowded when we got here so we got a table right away. We ordered some mixed drinks and soju for the table. The mixed drinks were so cute as they were Pokemon themed. I ordered the bulgogi pepper corn dish. It was a lot smaller than I imagined but packed with flavor. It came with a sauce that I poured over the top that was really delicious. There wasn't too much corn or bulgogi on the dish and it was mostly rice but the sauce helped jazz up the dish. I also shared a garlic Parmesan wings plate with some tots on the side. The wings are still so good. They're perfectly crispy and still juicy on the inside. The flavor was really delicious too and not too saucy or overpowering. The tots were regular tots but I appreciate that they gave us plenty of ranch to dip them in. I think the food can get pretty expensive here for the portion sizes but it's all so delicious. Parking wasn't the easiest, but that's typical for Convoy. FOOD: Triple Dipper (3.9/5) - I know this is on the menu as a shareable, but I got it for myself anyway... free will. I was just really into the idea of dumplings, fries, and spicy popcorn chicken. To me, the chicken wasn't spicy and was a little dry, but that's nothing a bit of dipping sauce can't mask. Four different dips were provided: ketchup, ranch, spicy mayo (?), and ponzu soy sauce (?). Dumplings were crispy. The fries were okay, but won't blow your socks off. I was asked if I wanted cajun, lemon pepper, or garlic parm for the fries. I thought those were the only options and didn't know it would be a $1 surcharge. Just get regular fries if you don't want to pay the surcharge (I think). SERVICE: (5/5) Extremely kind and considerate workers. My friend wanted a take-out order, and our server offered to place it a little later so the food would be fresher. They were also super attentive in general. TLDR// Pretty decent food. We came here on a rainy day. I was craving comfort food and wanted ramen. Noona's noodle soup caught my eye. It was spicy, came with dumplings, kimchi and fried egg (not boiled, which was something new for me). Upon ordering, the waitress disclosed that the noodles were instant noodles. Great wings, great cheese corn, great service! This place gets packed but generally moves pretty quickly. Parking is always a downside around here, so come early. Wings are usually $9 for 5 wings, but they're pretty large. We enjoyed all the flavors, but especially soy garlic and salt and pepper.
