Kimchi pancake

Always wanted to try this place so very happy I got to come here after the movies! There's not a lot of late night spots in San Diego, let alone with good food and this spot definitely has great food! They have happy hour, which we did not make it to, but I want to come back to try it out! The food came out relatively quick and the servers were always checking up on us.

Thang Thang is a great spot with amazing food and welcoming service. We ordered the bossam, seafood soup, and the seafood pancake! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and comforting. The service really stood out. Our group couldn't fit at one table, and the staff was accommodating by letting us hold a couple of tables so we could still sit together. They were patient, kind, and made the whole experience stress free. Overall, delicious food, great portions, and excellent customer service. Definitely worth coming back to with a big group of friends!

Late night, soju & Hite. Been a few times to enjoy shareable snacks and fun, boozy beverages. If there is a waitlist, put in a name and how many people in your party. Subdued lighting, k-pop music, and idol videos on the screen was the aesthetic when we were there. Other than central tables and seating in the dining room, the surrounding tables were partitioned off, giving some semi-privacy to the other parties. Service is friendly and on point, especially with that handy call button, otherwise servers will drop off orders and leave you to enjoy the evening.

Went to Thang Thang on a Monday night with some friends after pickleball, and they were super accommodating with our larger group. We ordered quite a bit of food for both tables, and the staff was really patient with us the whole time. The place had a lively vibe, and the music and crowd were a bit loud, which was expected for a busy night. The food was okay, but the watermelon soju was definitely the highlight. I'd come back just for that.

Everything was just okay.. it wasn't as popping as I thought it'd be. The music is literally my playlist though! They do play the explicit versions, so maybe don't take young kids. LOL. Well it's super dark and not made for kids-like anyways. The floor was sticky. When we ordered, we over ordered & the server didn't even warn us. There was a small language barrier though. Food was alright, more on the salty side though. Everything was extra tangy. The quesadillas were good, but the meat wasn't arranged so good, so I didn't get much meat in my piece. It's a meh, for me. Just wanted to try it 1 time.

My parents in law tried Korean food for the first time! We ordered spicy dawji galbi jjim, soy drumsticks, bulgogi, corn cheese, rice and of course banchan. The food was amazing, they loved it and I loved it too! We even had some leftovers. The place was nice, the servers were awesome. It was great dinner for us.

Charged an extra $3 for maybe 10 tiny pieces of spam.

Came here tonight for takeout since it's one of the few spots open late. My boyfriend went in to place the order while I waited in the car. Within just five minutes, a group of drunk customers, started banging on our car, messing with our side mirror and even harassing my dog by barking at him. Inside wasn't any better. My boyfriend tried to get inside but there was a crowd blocking the front door. At the center was a worker chatting with her friends. This made it hard for other customers to enter. Later waiting to pay the waitress walked around greeting her friends with his credit card still in her hand, then sat down with them to take shots. Totally unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're cool with that kind of vibe. Like I said, we only come here because there aren't many options after 9 p.m. There are plenty of other Korean spots with better food and better service.

The perfect late night spot if you are wanting Asian food instead of fast food at a drive thru! Our server was so sweet. We ordered corn cheese, bulgogi, and soy chicken wings. Everything was perfect for sharing and the wings came out piping hot.

tl;dr Don't waste your time Food: poor. - "Korean bistro"... yeah okay, and if my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike Service: poor. - Two servers (one male, one female); valid, slow night - Male server (new hire, 2 months) took over our table once his shift started and he was nice enough; female server took unsolicited pictures of our group, rude/curt - Prices did not match (see pictures below); at the end of the day, it's a few extra bucks but on the business side of things, it's messed up - Servers should have been proactive about notifying us about the price change but only let us know about the price change after we brought it up - Large party means automatic gratuity (fine), but the way they have it set made it seem like they could add whatever tip amount at the end of your check, regardless of what you sign for Ambiance: poor - Space itself is not good for big groups; cramped Overall: - For Korean food + drinks, there are better spots in SD/Convoy that are cheaper and better quality than Thang Thang and I can't think of a good reason to come here

Thang Thang on a rainy, cold night is nice. Parking is available and no wait for a table. I met a friend and we shared a lychee soju, small army stew (filling spicy soup filled with lots of random bits of meat, veggies and noodles), fried drumsticks and spicy bbq pork ribs. For 2 people, we ordered way too much food but it was all good. The weakest dish were the fried drumsticks. They were big, but a bit tough to chew and a bit bland. Really enjoyed the lychee soju!

This place is exactly what we were wanting after a long day with the craving of warm Korean food late at night. Packing lot is a bit small but there's street parking. When you are seated you order off the screen at the table. Select everything you want then send in the order. You can use it to also call a waiter over or Ali for the bill. It's perfect for people with anxiety of ordering. The food came out fairly fast and man it was all pipping hot. Everything was what we were drooling and dreaming for. Kimchi pancake was huge and so filling. The Gyoza Mandu were so tasty I would've gotten 2 orders; delicious and salty dipping sauce. My ramen was very hot and flavorful. A bit more veggies than I expected and the beef was a bit tough. Still yummy I'm going to try spam next The soondubu was boiling and ready for the egg to be cracked in. It was devoured. Ambiance is so laid back there are booths lining the walls and tables in the middle too. We can't wait to come here with our friends!!

honestly mid food. not rly good and authentic spot as a korean, but the food is cheap so that's cool, good portions too but service was also so-so too. one girl server seemed so annoyed since the beginning but the guy serving was nice so it was odd. but overall had an decent time here, just wouldn't come back. vibes r good n booths r cute but there's other places in sd id go for late night korean food rather than here.

Food and service was mid. no wonder they weren't busy on a Saturday night. we came in around 8pm and were seated immediately. orders are placed through the iPad on the table. the menu is surprisingly limited. bulgogi fries were good, hits the spot after drinking. the spy fried chicken wings were awful. the batter was so weird and soggy, and the skin wasn't crunchy at all. the sauce was ok but we really didn't want to finish the plate. I had higher expectations of this place and I wouldn't go again.

Here we go - so I paid full price for a combo meal, but several of the included items weren't available. They were out of my side dishes, out of rice for tomorrow, and ultimately had no rice at all--yet I was still charged full price. What's frustrating is that two different servers encouraged me to order the combo meal in the first place. I was dining in and also placing a takeout order, but I never received everything that was included in what I purchased. As someone who occasionally does paid collaborations with restaurants, I want to be clear that this was not a collaboration. It was simply a regular customer experience. It's eye-opening to see how some restaurants operate when you're just another paying customer. Experiences like this make you wonder whether the level of service changes when promotions or influencers are involved. Being in "ninja mode" definitely gives you a different perspective. At the end of the day, customers should receive what they're paying for--or be charged accordingly when key items are unavailable. Restaurants need to do better.

The bossam is sooo good, super tender and flavorful. The cabbage wrap isn't as pickled and is a little on the harder side, but it didn't bother me too much. The banchan are amazing, so fresh, super flavorful, and they keep the refills coming. I could literally be happy just eating those. We tried the gamjatang too and it's good, but definitely come with a group because it's a lot, like at least four people kind of portion and still some leftovers. The seollongtang is also really solid, but my current favorite is the spicy buckwheat noodles. So good. Service has been great every time, everyone is really friendly and attentive. The place is clean, but the only downside is sometimes there's a strong cleaner smell that kind of overpowers the food. And parking in that plaza is so rough but even with that, I still keep coming back.

First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. I can't believe it's not cheesecake - Definitely a mix of a brûlée but with a cheesecake flavor. Confusing but works lol. We met the executive chef, Kyler, who explained and served some of dishes we ordered. The entire staff was so accommodating and even reminded us if we needed our parking validated! Our water never ran empty and our dishes were promptly taken away as we finished. Definitely a place to visit during HH since they offer amazing food and cocktail choices.

We were told the rice is really al dente, that wasn't the issue.
