Wow! This place hits their one year anniversary in a few days! It has a dark interior and replicant of an actual German Pub. They have ample parking outside the restaurant. There aren't servers that come to your table, so please be mindful that you'll need to order and then take a seat. Their food window is towards the right corner and then you'd need to order drinks at the bar. You're allowed to grab their food menu and take a seat with it. On Sundays, they have a schnitzel deal in which your scented comes with potato salad and sauerkraut (red cabbage). I wasn't a fan of that, but the schnitzel reminded me of our travels in Germany! The beers were very refreshing. They had an extensive beer menu with over 30 beers to try. I ended up getting a hazy and my fiancé had the wheat beer. It was great and the beertenders were friendly as well. We spent a lot of time eating and drinking. We were also allowed to bring our small dog inside. The beertender ended up coming by our table to help and say hi to our dog! Such a sweet establishment with delicious food and brews. It was nicely decorated. I wouldn't mind coming back here for another meal if I'm in the area!

Only place to drink good beer! Great for the chill hangouts with friends, quick bite to eat and just overall good vibes!

Great place to grab a beer and hangout with good company! Would 10/10 recommend #24 in the boot glass

Pretzel with cheese and mustard! The cheese is bomb!

Okay, one obvi comes here for the beer selection but what one found out, is that they have a falafel wrap that is probably one of the best that you'll have! It's so perfectly moist (sorry to y'all that cringed, there's no other way to describe it!). It's delicious! We love a place that has options for our vegetarian friends (Hi - that would be me!) Pretzel? Bomb. Better with the beer cheese than the mustard I think but both options are amazing (or dip in both if you're feeling wild! Such a variety of drinks whether you're feeling a little more on the fruity or light side or want something darker and heavier, they have so much. A beer/drink for everyone! A little dark and moody in there but such a cool little spot to hang. Staff? Super friendly and funny. Person at the front was kind and so adorable and even the chefs I can peep past the host were cheery, all the way to the bartender on the other side. Definitely will be coming back! Also folks -- be smart. Take an Uber. Parking isn't the greatest as is and just be safe. K, thanks.

One of my favorite beer bars, this place is always a good time. The beer selection is great, food always hits the spot, and the service is fantastic. Free pool doesn't hurt either. Always a clean place and a plus that dogs are welcomed inside. It's not a huge place so it can get packed, but it's always worth it.

Munich meets South Park. The decidedly German influenced Bock breathes new life into the former Hamilton's - and it's a good thing. The menu consists of half German, Belgian and generally imported beers and then some American flare. They also have food by way of Biersal who does them right. Yours truly had a German and a Belgian and then, when in Rome (er, Deutschland) I ordered a chicken schnitzel sandwich with fries. Twas delicious and the beers helped wash down the fried, European inspired, diet-killing grub. Less than zero regrets. Friendly service and it beats the hell out of a burned down building, which it previously was.

On a Saturday afternoon, I popped into this location for a couple of drinks. Perhaps this was not the best time to check out this German bar in South Park neighborhood as it was Oktoberfest. The bar was packed with people, and there was not even a place to stand. With that said, the bar is small, its long and narrow- on one side of the bar there are booths for larger groups, in the middle there are a couple of seats, and then the bar has a couple of seating. In general seating is very limited. During prime times be prepared to stand. To receive service- you need to go to the bar to order. There is a single file line. There is no food service at the bar. If you snag a booth, there looked like there was some table service but maybe just for clearing tables. The menu does have a solid list of offerings. There are over 30 beers on tap. If you are not a beer fan, there are some wine too on the menu. For a boot, the beer was 19 dollars. A little on the higher side. The bar does not offer food, but next door is Biersal which offers German food. Parking is within the neighborhood. This area gets extremely busy so street parking can be challenging. When parking, read the signs carefully so you do not get a ticket.

We were in another brewery the day before and this place was recommended to us. We definitely made sure to check it out and we are so glad we did! What a gem! From the beer selection and the FOOD ...phenomenal! Definitely come check this place out. I am not a big craft beer drinker--I drink sours and ciders--and even for me...they had something for a girl like me whose fiancé is the beer connoisseur. The food---got to try the sausage plate and of course a bratwurst and pretzel. I was in heaven

    Hands off my frites!

"This feels like home!" I think my German friend nailed it. If you want to experience a really cool European-style pub, you have to try Bock. I was a brewer once, and I am continually impressed by their beer selection, both foreign and domestic. I am vegan, and I appreciate the options that Biersal (their food partner) has. They have vegan wursts, a zucchini falafel wrap, frites, and pretzels (hold the cheese, please!) Be sure to specify your dietary preferences to get the right dips for your frites. This economy getting you down? I hear you. Check out their happy hour: Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 pm. Prost! P.S. Oh yeah, they have wine, too.

    Happy hour deals!

I've been to Bock several times now and enjoyed each experience. It's a little loud, surprisingly dimly lit, and always packed. It's a bar! For adults only! With great beer on draft! And Biersal, their food partner, has delicious vegan food options! With a well curated beer list of Old World (German, Belgian, etc) and New World (CA brewery dominant) offerings, most any beer drinker will find something they love. For the non-beer folks, they also offer a selection of nice European wines, cider, seltzer, and even kombucha. They even have N/A options for the young, sober kidz. As vegans, we really appreciate the thoughtful vegan options, clearly marked on Biersal's menu. The vegan bratwurst is fabulous! The grilled Beyond brat is topped with sauerkraut, whole grain mustard, and pickled red onions, and it's served in a toasted bun. We've also ordered the zucchini falafel wrap, a hearty, veggie forward option with a surprising kick of spice. The fries are of course delicious, and the potato salad (vegan as is) packs a vinegary punch. The vegan currywurst is delicious too. We've also come here with friends who are gluten-free, and they too have been kindly accommodated by the Biersal kitchen - just ask and they'll hook you up. They have a weekday happy hour (Monday - Friday, 3-5pm) which I have yet to enjoy. Also know that seats are first come, first served, and they don't take reservations. I wouldn't recommend this place for a group bigger than six people, and even then there are only a few tables that will seat all of you. But hey, it's a bar, and this is what bars are like. Go with the flow and enjoy yourself! Prost!

If I'm reviewing solely the beer, it would be 5 stars. However, the service I've had the few times has been a little bit sub-par. Where I've almost felt rushed to pick a beer and get out of the way. I've only tried one food option, and if I was reviewing solely on that, I wouldn't return. The vegan currywurst was exceptionally disappointing. I understand that working with a vegan substitute isn't easy, but if you're going to have it on the menu, I would hope it's not just a sliced up Smart dog. I'll be back, because I know we're still in the early(ish) months and I like the concept.

As a former regular patron of Hamilton's, I am EXTREMELY pleased with this newest much anticipated addition, rebuilt -- or dare I say rebirthed -- from a fiery wreckage, the brawn and brain of Bottlecraft the masterminds behind the scenes pulling the strings. Bock attempts to pay homage to the former tavern with its cavern-like appeal and casual, dog-friendly environs energized by classy, upbeat tunes and choice bites in the form of German fare. Beer selection is nothing short of amazing with the tap board split into Old and New World styles. Frequently, various events are held to celebrate sometimes obscure European traditions. Bock keeps it fresh and fun, something the craft beer scene needed. Finally, another WORTHY beer bar to add to the rotation.

Cool German bar with a pretty solid draft list. They've got a decent bottle/can list and wine if that's what you're looking for. Lots of seating, a pool table, and all around a chill setting.

So I turned around and stopped in. What I found was a quaint, tucked-away, almost inconspicuous spot delivering food and hospitality at a level that honestly borders on absurd for how unassuming it appears from the outside. The service was warm, polished, and intuitive without ever feeling pretentious. Hats off to both chefs, Christi and Mark for making me feel welcome. The wine pairings? Thoughtful, balanced, and exactly what you hope for from a restaurant that actually respects food. And then there's the burger. This thing reads like poetry: Ribeye and NY strip trim blend, cooked like a proper steak (medium rare, the only correct answer here), melted gouda, a soft house potato roll, all resting in a luxurious bordelaise sauce that would make a French chef nod in approval. Seriously. This is not a "burger joint burger." This is a chef-driven, butcher-minded expression of beef. Every bite tastes intentional. The bordelaise underneath ties the entire thing together with this deep, glossy richness that elevates it from comfort food into something bordering on fine dining. Places like this are why I still love discovering restaurants organically. No hype machine. No gimmicks. Just confidence, technique, restraint, and execution. This very unassuming little spot has Michelin written all over it.

There's literally more dogs than people. They have sketchy chairs outside for you to wait until their heart desires. One tip for this desperate little place: time your tables to 90 mins max. You don't have the square footage nor the grit to keep it up. I do not recommend this place to myself nor anyone else. I am banning myself indefinitely from Juan Jaspar. Trust your gut people. Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.
