I found Cross Winds after experiencing a lack of knowledge for treatment at another vet in the valley. My Frenchie was experiencing a corneal ulcer which Dr. Draper diagnosed, attempted non-surgical treatment, and eventually recommended a surgery as a permanent fix. She was incredibly knowledgeable on the condition and entropion my Claire was experiencing. The staff is well rounded and addressed every concern. Claire is now 3 weeks post surgery and doing great! Yesterday 11/25/2025 my wife and I had to say goodbye to our precious Kaley. At 18 years old she had a great life and surpassed her life expectancy of 5-7 years after having health issues at a young age. All the staff at Cross Winds are so caring and friendly and were very supportive in our decision to end Kaley's suffering. Today 11/26/2025 we start a new adventure with having our almost 6 month kitten Kinsey Lu spayed and I'm sure the staff at Cross Winds will take wonderful care of her. Recently moved and needed to find a new vet for my 2 French bulldogs. After their first initial visit I really was put off with the vibe of this office and how it seems they really want to upsell you on everything. They really pressure you to do all sort of extra procedures or lab work on 2 healthy dogs. They will literally suggest everything under the sun. During the exam it was brought to my attention that my dog had a chipped tooth and they recommended a tooth extraction. For that one procedure I was quoted about 1250.00 for that one. I really don't like that when they do their vaccines they don't administer it in the room with you. It makes the appointment that much longer when you have 2 dogs and they take turns bringing them back. The thing that made me decide to not go back was the when the vet and the vet technician totally missed something that was so simple. One of my dogs back nails had grown longer than we had expected and that when I took him to get bathed and pretty a couple weeks after this exam took place we realized that a nail was moving into his paw pad. There is a pretty good chance had this been caught by this office my dog possibly could've avoided pain and needing a procedure done to correct it. I feel like as it was a mistake done by this office and staff the least they could've done would've been to apologize and acknowledge their mistake. For having to get this taken care of it needed another appointment and of course more money in their pockets. It really seems the only thing this office cares about is how to get as much money out of your wallet and less about your dogs health. As I checked out I explained that I wouldn't be coming back because of my experience. I wasn't rude I didn't yell. Simply stated because of the lack of acknowledging their mistake and that they missed something that is so simple makes you wonder what type of care they really do provide. They could've cared less. Well I laughed when I opened my mail today that they sent me a letter saying I wasn't welcomed at their office anymore because I voiced my displeasure. . I don't trust them with my dog's health I would definitely think twice about coming to this office. Also not a fan that they prefer you to pay cash and if you use a debit or credit card they charge you a 3 percent fee. . Now some may say it's my fault for letting my dogs nails get so long. In some ways yes it is. In my defense I had no idea they were that long as I thought they had been trimmed when I had my dog taken care of 3 months prior but I'm guessing they didn't do a very good job and it was his hind paw. Update: I was able to get my dog back in for just the rabies without any additional office costs and was able to get my other dog in yesterday for His annual. It's unfortunate that the rabies was missed but the team made it right and the vets and vet technicians have all been wonderful and super sweet to my dogs. The pricing is really great and I will continue to use them as our vet. I'm a little frustrated with this clinic. I brought my dog in about a month ago for vaccines so he could get groomed. He had a little bump on his ear so I needed that checked and a few other little things. Today I'm getting the paperwork together for his grooming appointment in the morning and realize that rabies wasn't on it. I called to find out why and the only answer I could get is, "yeah, that's strange, they usually do it." If there had been some note on why they didn't do it, that would have helped but I don't recall us talking about not giving him a vaccine required by law. Needless to say, I had to cancel his grooming and will need to take him in somewhere for his rabies and reschedule him to be groomed sometime next week. It would have been nice to get a call explaining why they didn't do it, or that they did do it and forgot to charge me, or that they did do it and it just wasn't on the paperwork. All of these would have been acceptable responses instead of, "we usually give it so not sure why we didn't." This was the best and most affordable vet I have EVER been to. I mean my visit was under $100 and that included steroids and pain killers for my dog, that they were able to give me on the spot. They gave a very thorough exam on my dog and really cared to figure out what was going on. They properly educated me giving me lots of information on what's going on with my dog then gave me literature on it. This clinic has the best staff! They are all really kind, patient and helpful when I bring in my cats. One of my cats is extremely timid and they get it. They wrap her in a warm towel with calming spray and make sure she isn't panicked before proceeding. The initial visit was heavily discounted but their prices are much better than the Banfield I was using prior. The location is at the end of a shopping center so its a bit hidden but thats even better because there's alot of parking available. I was hopeful to give this clinic a better review as my cats were previous clients, however, not after this morning. Yesterday evening I was told to give them a call first thing in the morning to book an "emergency visit slot." My cat has been very sick, has not been eating, and was very concerned about waiting any longer to take them to an emergency room. However, When they explained they had emergency slots and that they were available the following morning, I was thrilled. Without hesitation, I waited until the following morning based on their recommendation to take him the next day, without concern for taking him to an emergency clinic instead. Except, when I called at 8:01, their phone lines were full. I called again, and after the line picked up, was told their time slots had been filled completely for the day. I expressed my anger calmly and told them firmly that they said they had open time slots and to call first thing in the morning. They related to me that they are "first come first serve." I understand that, but if they are usually booked quickly, why didn't the technician warn me prior so I could make a better judgment call about WAITING for my cat who is already sick for an appointment that would probably be booked before I was even given a chance? Thanks for making my cat wait longer to be seen. He was already suffering, and now he will continue to suffer more due to your negligence at your office. If health was your main concern, you would have encouraged me to take my cat to an emergency clinic instead of trying to pocket the potential client's money for a visit. I will never recommend nor come here again. My biggest recommendation to any person with a pet would be to go with your gut and take your pet to someone who actually gives a damn about your pet's wellbeing, but that seems far and few these days. Just brought my cat here to be shaved and I couldn't be happier. I was super concerned with how my cat would do and I haven't brought her to a vet in years. The staff was super attentive, kind, and sweet to my cat. Unlike other vets, they encouraged me NOT to spend all the extra money to have her groomed under sedation and we're confident they could get it done with no anesthesia. They informed me my cat was totally overweight in the nicest way possible. I was honestly shocked as I just thought she was a naturally big cat. They told me she should be able to clean herself and she should never have to be groomed, she's just too overweight. They were honest and very understanding with their delivery of this information. They told me they were going to shave her a little bit at a time and give her a rest in between each shave. They told me it would be no extra cost to keep her there longer for this method. I left my cat there and they called me within 30 min to let me know she was totally done and she did just fine with them! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest and attentive vet. You can really tell they all love animals! read more

THEIR LACK OF CARE AND FOLLOW THROUGH LEAD TO MY DOGS DEATH On October 25 I took my Jack Russell in because she hadn't been feeling well. They examined her and everything seemed good. But went ahead and did blood work. They said they would have the results to me that evening or 1st thing in the morning. The next morning I called and they informed me that my results were in, but they were extremely busy and would call. I informed them that I was leaving town and needed to know, so I could get her medicine if needed. It took many phone calls and they didn't get with me until sometime after noon. Than on Monday they called me and told me she tested positive for Valley Fever. After a few days she was not getting any better and I took her back in on November 2. After 2 hours in the office and many tests, they came to the conclusion that she had an infection in her uterus, from not going into heat because of the Valley Fever. They said she needed surgery. I asked if she was strong enough to have surgery due to not eating much and being sick. They said yes, simple procedure (90% chance) So they did the operation around 1 :00 and called me about an hour later to tell me things went well and they removed the infection. Dr. also told me that they did have some issues with her heart rate during surgery and gave her something to bring it back to normal. Another lady called me back a little later to tell me that Zoe was recovering and that I could pick her at 5:30. I asked about her staying over night and they said yes she could but wanted to let me know that there would be no one there to take care of her. (So no one is there to watch over your pets after surgery or any other procedures from around 7 to 7). I didn't like that at all and opted to pick her up right before they closed. When I picked her up she had to be carried because she was still very out of it. I took her home put her in her bed. Went to check on her and discovered she was not breathing. This was about an Hour after picking her up. When they called the next day to check up on her I informed that she had died. I also told them that they released her too soon or gave her to much anesthesia. The Dr. got defensive and said I could have taken her to an emergency place. I was never told she needed to be prior. On Monday the Office manager called me, I expressed to her how upset and unhappy I was. That someone should have stayed with her until she was ready to go home. She said that I could have taken her to an emergency place, which was never discussed till after he death. I told the office manger that the least they could do is give me my money back. She informed that she would talk to the owners and get back with me, I have never heard from them again. I would not blame them for her untimely death if they had responded to calls and given me results in a timely manner. Her care was delayed by lack of follow through and concern. So if you love your pets I advise you to not take them to this vet, THEY DO NOT GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL. read more

The tech was great with our dog and Dr. Martin was wonderful. He sat on the floor with our boy as he did his exam, which I really appreciated. Everything was thorough, and well explained. I was a HUGE advocate and fan for this practice. You can find my previous 5 star review. Our two favorite vets left the practice last year and I noticed a change in the office. Recently the communication has been terrible which makes me sad. I made an appointment over a month ago for a well check and vaccine for my sweet little 5 pound boy. I was told they DO make exceptions and allow owners in the building. My dog is tiny and the last vet we saw there had a horrible, HORRIBLE bedside manner, treated my questions like I was an idiot and left him on the exam table and walked away. I immediately jumped up to grab him as he was ready to leap off the table which was very high! He would have broken legs had he leaped off. We were scheduled to see a new vet there and honestly I didn't feel comfortable handing my dog over to someone I don't know because of our last visit and myself not being there inside the building to make sure my dog was handled properly and not treated poorly. I asked if he could just get his vaccine and that I would schedule an appointment for a well check as soon as we were being allowed in the building which I was told shouldn't be a problem last week but apparently that is not allowed today? Now I completely respect covid restrictions and I'm not here to argue them but my feelings as a concerned pet owner were not even addressed. I was told there was exceptions in allowing owners in but now there isn't? I was told yes we can give him his vaccine and you can come back for the well check but now I'm being told no. Don't waste your time here as there are practices in the area that DO let you inside the building with a mask on and I'm certain there are practices with a better versed staff out there as well that will not tell you false things. Who knows?! Maybe they were maybe they weren't false. I don't know. It sure didn't feel false when she told me they DO make exceptions. It feels like a slap in the face for someone that has spent thousands of dollars there. Also the woman I spoke with, I believe it was the manager wasn't even phased about losing a patient/client. She wasn't even sorry to see us go. I have recommended so many to this practice. Big mistake on my part. Breaks my heart but very thankful there are other practices out there. read more

Bailee Mitchell WORST VET EVER...hurt my cat while examining her by pulling on her back legs suspecting arthritis...and exclaiming "OH YEAH" when my cat flinched in pain!!!! Showed NO compassion for my cat AT ALL!!! Tried to explain that I wanted my cat off steroids prescribed by another vet because I worked out of town and wasn't there to get her the medication every 24hrs and the steroid did not seem to be doing anything useful...she said I had options that I could bring her into the office every month and they would inject her with steroids until she developed diabetes and then that would be it and I wouldn't have to worry about giving the medication myself!!!! Tried to take x-rays and I could hear my cat crying out from the exam room I was waiting in. Could only take one xray...charged me $95 for the xray when I had it sent to my email...it looks EXACTLY like one of the 3 xrays I sent to their office from another facilities with all her records. read more

Dr. Martin and (I'm assuming she was a vet tech) were present while I was asking questions. There were two instances where I noticed the vet tech would look at the Dr. and make some kind of smirk after I asked the question. Overall an okay experience. As new puppy owners we had many questions and the male vet that assisted us on our first appointment overall was super kinda and helpful. Sat on the floor and stayed late past the office closing time to answer all questions. However, overall staff interactions with the front desk and previous vet appointments after with a female vet were not pleasant. We felt like we annoyed them with our questions and service was meh. Having someone kind and friendly who acts (even if it's not true) that they love our puppy and genuinely care is important. We have since changed providers and have that experience now every time we go in! Our recommendation would be to work on bedside manners. read more

I used to love this clinic. The staff was amazing and the doctors were great. My dog Buster had surgery here and we spent a ton of money on him. They treated us like royalty then. I also had a mole removed from my dog Louie. The last time I took Louie in they acted like he had the worst teeth in the world and wanted to charge $800 to clean his teeth. It was a setup from the start. The vet tech immediately started talking to Louie about his horrible teeth and basically shaming me for not getting them cleaned yearly and brushing them daily. I am not brushing my dog's teeth! I can barely get my kids to brush their teeth. He is a dog! I proceeded to get Louie's routine vaccinations and left with my huge bid for a teeth cleaning. And a feeling of being inadequate. I called Nikki's Place and got Louie in for a teeth cleaning for a fraction of the price with the old dog anesthesia and everything. There was no shaming involved, they were kind and professional. They said his teeth were fine and didn't even seem alarmed. Now, back at Crosswind we cannot get in quickly for urgent visits. Today I called and they wanted to charge $80 for a same day visit to look at Buster's eye. This at 12:00pm for a 3:00pm appointment on a Monday. It's not a weekend or 3:00am or even 5:00pm. They are way too busy for my business and way too good for my dogs with unbrushed teeth. If you like being judged and openly ridiculed via conversations between the staff and your dog this is your new veterinarian, if not, try Val Vista Animal Hospital. They are going to look at Buster's eye today and not as an emergency visit even though they have never seen him. read more

I called Cross Winds because our five year old miniature Schnauzer was sick. Almost all vets in the area were closed or only doing telemedicine. Cross Winds could get us in same day (we were new clients) and were very compassionate. Due to COVID-19 we couldn't go in and had to wait outside for the tech to come get our dog, however the level of care provided was nothing less than exceptional. Prices were extremely reasonable and less than expected. The doctor was not at all pushy with add ons and was very transparent. We plan on taking our fur kids back here for all of our future vet needs. read more

This vet clinic is one of the best I have found. The staff is friendly and vets don't waste the patients money. They give several options for treatment and you leave feeling better about taking care of your pets. Unfortunately the service at this vet has really gone downhill. I used to bring my two pit bulls here, but every time I came was like the first time because nobody remembered me or my pets. I had to remind them of my dog's valley fever since they were too busy to brush up on my records before they came into the examination room. When my dog was sick, the vet asked me what I wanted to do - what I needed was their expert opinion! They explained my options by how much each would cost me - what I needed to know was what was best for my dog, not how much I can afford! Office staff is friendly, and got us in a room at our scheduled appointment time. The Veterinarian who saw us never made us feel rushed and answered all our questions. I love this vet. I took my rottie puppy here when he started exhibiting signs of kennel cough. They were able to get me in the same day I called for an "emergency" visit. They had me and my pup go through a private entrance just in case he was contagious (which I appreciated because I'm pretty sure my pup got sick being exposed at a different clinic the week prior) The staff was SO FRIENDLY and nice with my dog, one employee came and sat in the floor and played with my puppy while we waited for the vet. I've been going to crosswinds since 1999. I absolutely live the staff and Dr Sheryl is fabulous. I adopted a kitten and Dr Vera was fabulous as well. I've always felt my animals were in the best of hands with them because it seems they love your pets as much add you do. My dog recently got diagnosed with valley fever and everyone there made me feel so optimistic about his recovery and did everything in their power to make us feel comfortable and positive. This is one of the best vet offices I've ever taken my dogs to. The vet was so patient and spent a great amount of time in the room answering all of my questions.
