This is no "hospital". This is a primary care vet that should only take care of very basic things like vaccines. They were in over their head with my dog Tilly and her complicated diagnosis that I finally got at another vet. This vet feels very money hungry. Always adding on labs or some other fee because they are grasping at straws because they do not understand how to take care of anything that takes the least bit of critical thinking. The doc that was prescribing a prescription food to my dog mis dosed her. I was essentially starving her on her orders. This was a huge mistake on the doctor's part and I left the practice after that. My dog was even hospitalized here for a day. After I picked her up they were unable to do much of what was planned. I wish they would have been honest about that and didn't keep her till night time. I would steer clear of this vet. Go to GQ Vet if you have any need other than a simple vaccine or checkup. read more

Compared to other vet visits, this experience was exceptionally good. Brought in my senior cat for arthritis and had concerns about injections vs supplements. Tech Cheyenne and Dr Scott answered ALL of my many questions and concerns very thoroughly and helped me make a more informed decision for my cat. It proved to me again that doing your homework helps you to get the best care possible. read more

Our geriatric dog was an established patient here for 3 years. After she was in distress and had a bad night we called first thing in the morning to get her in and be evaluated. What we were told was "we are down 5 employees today, you will have to contact an emergency veterinary clinic to evaluate her". I'm sorry but is this a way to treat an established patient. I feel at other places I have always felt like they hated their job and helping people out, however at this place, everyone is so eager to help and they really do care for your furry family member. Took my dog here as I was looking for a new vet to try. My dog has had a couple UTIs before, so I anticipated she had one again being she's showing the same symptoms. The vet claimed the house accidents (she hasn't had accidents in the house except when she had a UTI before & when she was a puppy), the licking herself & the more frequent urination is from... allergies. I agree my dog has allergies... I'll get to that part. But allergies doesn't cause accidents in the house. She wouldn't prescribe antibiotics. She instead had me pay $28 for these wipes (Amazon sells them for $17). I asked for some allergy meds. She wanted to put her on a shot that I would have to bring her back every month for. I asked for Apoquel instead. She wanted to give her a 2 wk prescription, (not a 30 day one like anyone else would) so then I would have to bring her back for a follow up.. another $92 office visit of course... Oh! And don't plan on having chewy contact them for prescriptions. They don't work with chewy, but they don't tell you that even though you mention it at least twice. If you insist, they'll give you a written prescription that you have to mail to chewy like it's 1990. Otherwise, it's their way of making you get the meds through them. Don't bother complaining to the office manager. You'll get a response patronizing you because you don't have a veterinary license and only making excuses for the office & staff. And hopefully you don't mind being recorded. They record audio in the exam rooms. Makes you wonder why they need to do this?? But they go back to review the audio, even though I never disputed that anything was or was not said. I guess it makes them feel better about the joke of care they provide animals and the insulting customer service. I took my dog here for a UTI & allergy meds. I walked out paying $472 with NEITHER of those concerns being taken care of. The only good thing I have to say about this place was the tech, Lucy. She is a sweetheart and so great with the animals. read more

They use to be very good. But after Dr. Sabatka(spelling) left they went down hill. Took my dog in for eye issue and stuffed up crusted nostril. They didn't look at her eye and didn't even look in her nose. Just kept pushing expensive testing for Valley fever which she showed no symptoms for. We declined the test and they gave us antibiotics. Two days later I had a gut feeling and took her some where else. She was dx with a staph infection in the nose and given an antibiotic that would work. read more

We brought our cat here because he had been sick for a few weeks. We knew that it was most likely time to make the hardest decision pet parents have to make. The entire staff was compassionate, empathetic, and kind. They gave up as much time as we needed to say goodbye and gave us space after the procedure was complete. We also got a very nice sympathy card with a handwritten note from the doctor. They made a very difficult and heartbreaking day as easy as possible. read more

Dr Bautistas first opinion on My cat early stage of kidney desease was to put her down, instead of first offering viable options. Then , when I said I was going to do anything in my power to help my cat, then She offered treatment ..... this was six months ago and my kitty is still with me and thriving . Strange way to handle a patients care. Offering to put her down before offering a treatment that can save her life. Same dr did wrong diagnosis on the same cat for a different case. After a month of treatment , cat start getting worse again. The answer when I called for appointment was clear and simple: "we don't have any appointments for your cat. You may have to take her to another doctor!!!" I SURE WILL DR BAUTISTA! They let my kitty die because they determined his X-ray as " constipation" and said he would be better in 24 hours and he wasn't when I called back and asked why his blood results said inflammation she said that's what they consider gas and constipation! I recently moved to Arizona and desperately needed medication for my epileptic dog. I chose Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital for its convenient location and excellent reviews on YELP. I'm so glad I did! They exceeded my expectations, especially considering the stress and hardship of working during this pandemic. The staff was friendly, professional, helpful and very conscientious about keeping their clients and patients safe and well. Also, Dr. Hawley doesn't just give advice and expect it to be followed--she actually listens with consideration and compassion. She is careful to follow-up on her patients as well. They are a little pricey, but they worked with me to accommodate my financial limitations while doing their very best for my dog. Overall, I highly recommend Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital. read more

I took my puppy In A few weeks ago with a skin issue. (We stood in a tiny hot room way to long without my puppy 30 mins or so, she was taken to the back) The vet recommended a new dog food (which they sell) and also did a skin scrape which I paid way to much for to come back negative as well as an antibiotic they prescribed for 10 days I was told a visit was $70 I left after it was said and done paying 225$. My puppy before had one skin issue .. since the visit she has not gotten better she's scratching has sores all over her in fact she's gotten worse and lost so much hair and isn't using the bathroom regularly anymore. I called back to see if they could see what was going on what they did obviously made it worse or did nothing and the problem progressed and they wanted to charge me again ! I'm so unhappy with my experience and I wouldn't recommend anyone take their fur baby here. read more

Rip off! Very disappointed with this place for being a hospital and over priced facility. I am new to the area so wanted someplace that I thought would be great so I took my dog here that was having some issues. Cost $70 for an office visit which I don't mind paying this which I thought being a hospital they would know what was wrong. So ex-rays were taken which cost over $400 out the door. My dog was put on an Antibiotic for 10 days, scheduled a follow up which cost another $55 didn't seem to be cured so was put on the same Antibiotic for another 8 days. I am sick after paying over $500 and my dog is worse now than when I brought it in to this place. Don't go here this place is a rip off! There are several veterinarians around the east valley. read more

Wow I am super impressed! I used to take my dog to Petsmart Banfield for all of her medical needs, but ever since I had a bad experience with them, I have been searching for somewhere new. I'm staying temporarily in Mesa until I move into my new apartment but I needed something for my Emma's anxiety. It was getting to the point where I felt bad for her and felt she might benefit from some medication. Emma doesn't always get along with other dogs, so the front staff were very accommodating when it was needed to coordinate when there were no dogs around to get Emma into an exam room. She was nervous inside the room but the tech and vet were understanding and wanted Emma to be as comfortable as possible. They sat down and got to her level, gave her treats, and let her sniff their stethoscopes. The vet listened to my concerns and talked through what the best options were. She offered me a prescription and I was able to take it to my own pharmacy to get it filled, which I had no idea this was something I could do! They also let her stay in the room while I paid which was very helpful. Highly recommend even for the most anxious of animals! read more

This was the worst experience that I had at a vet. I even gave them more than a week before writing this review to attempt to make it right. My cat was diagnosed with liver failure and I was shared that news and treatment suggestions via a voicemail from a receptionist. I called and emailed them to request to speak to with the vet, Dr. Hawley without a response. This clinic lacks basic customer service skills and more importantly compassion. When it comes to your fur babies and giving them care, I expected so much more and unfortunately was met with this extreme lack of compassion. They could have made it better with a simple phone by if not Dr. Hawley, or any other vet. Very disappointed and disheartened. read more

Wow just wow! Ive now had 3 separate visits at Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital and they are by far the best veterinarian we have taken our dogs to! They are upfront and honest about pricing, their staff is amazing and Dr. Hawley is just great! My bank account also appreciates that she doesn't over recommend tests! We were taking our dogs to another vet in the east valley but weren't terribly happy with them. Then when we needed an emergency vet visit on a Saturday morning (our dog was screaming in pain after jumping around) and our previous vet refused to get us in and referred us to the pet ER and the pet ER said it would be a 3 hour wait, I found myself calling every single vet in the area to try to get him in. Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital was the only place who said to head on over and they'd squeeze us in between patients as long as we were ok waiting. They got us in and waiting in a private exam room right away! We've since been in to see them 2 times since and the service has been consistently amazing. From the phone calls, front desk staff, assistants and Veterinarian. They even called in Monday to follow up on how my dog was doing after a pretty bad respiratory issue which probably is standard procedure but means a lot to us! read more

Recently moved to the area and called around to a few places that would hopefully get us in quickly for our dogs hematoma. Augusta Ranch was super friendly on the phone and confirmed our upcoming appointment once it was made. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see both a dog and cat entrance which was really thoughtful! We were called back into a private room rather quickly and we had an opportunity to voice our concerns. The technician took our dog into the back and popped in frequently to let us know what was going on. Once we agreed on a course of action/treatment, I was given reading material and a return time for pick up. Everything went smoothly and we were able to pick her up a few hours later! The staff was very friendly and super knowledgeable. I enjoyed how they gave several treatment options and I didn't feel pressured into anything. My dog is home resting now and I'm happy we put her in good hands! read more

Very professional office. My visit was handled great from the phone call to set up the appointment to getting my dog back to the car. I really like that this vet has a separate entrance for dogs and cats with the waiting room separated by a wall and gate. Receptionists are very professional and helpful. they explain everything and check you out quickly. Our Vet Tech was Katie and she was very friendly and happy, gave us all the information we needed to keep my dog healthy. The prices were much more reasonable then I thought they were going to be it was $169 for the visit, an ear flush and Reks' medication to clear up his ear infection. They do accept Care Credit, I had applied for mine before coming in. Their website is also very informative on types of payments and services and anything else you might want to know. read more

I had an appointment here but, for my responsibility, I forgot to bring the vet report that I received from the breeder. I mentioned this to two different people and was told "no problem". After we were shown to the exam room, the technician asked if she could take my puppy to another room to have his nails clipped. I agreed and when they returned I was informed that vaccinations had been done as well. "Sign here". I was told after the fact what shots were given without me being given the opportunity to say yes or no. He was given a shot for kennel cough and there are no plans to board him or take him anywhere that he would be exposed. Of the people at the clinic didn't know this because they didn't ask. We really liked this hospital in the beginning. The nail tech lady is awesome but I dont know here name. The issue that I have with them is not just getting the time it takes to get an appt for ANY concerns (3 week waits!). But also.... They called me one day and said, "We see that you need medicine for your pup's arthritis and you ordered from walmart, How many pills do you have left?" I told them how many I had left and they said they needed the Dr permission in ordered to approve it ". Mind you this is medication that my dog needs, prescribed by my VET And my dog had test done (a follow up) to make sure I could still give her these pills a MONTH AGO. Welp, they insisted they ask the dr when she was available and maybe in a few days!!!! WTH I was just there a month ago and got the ok to reorder these meds' . We paid to have my dog tested a month ago and I need your permission to still give her these even though your VET ok'd it! My dog had to wait and be without her med's for a few days which really was not necessary and affected her. "I was told I should have ordered them sooner!" omg read more

We spent three days going back and forth to Augusta Ranch while our baby was dying in front of our eyes. We begged them for help and answers. She was no longer eating, drinking and couldn't walk. She even vomited water. We spent over $700 on tests, x-rays and medication for nothing. Not even a diagnosis. Our one year old dog was suffering. We transferred her to another vet. Within 5 minutes they knew it was Parvo despite her being fully vaccinated. She was put on an IV and rushed to the hospital. Today she is home and being properly treated. I am upset and urge you to go elsewhere. Inaction and suffering is not acceptable. read more

5 stars for the vets we've seen the past couple of times, Dr Trahan and Dr Batiste are great! However, 2 stars for the front desk. Every time I call or go in it's complete chaos and no one knows what's going on ever. They're always super friendly and willing to help which is great but they need to be more organized or have more help, especially since they can never find my prescriptions. I feel extremely rushed and like I'm bothering them when I call. I completely understand that they're busy right now but they need more people working up front. I'm super appreciative though since they got my dog in same day so I didn't have to go to the ER vet. read more

I blame this place for the death of my beautiful shepherd, she had internal bleeding from an earlier knee surgery and they failed to find this, instead running up thousands of dollars taking unnecessary tests and sending her home day after day, even as she got worse. The veterinarians there were not experienced enough and should have sent me to someone who was. By the time I left there and took her to an emergency hospital, it was too late. She ended up with kidney failure. This has devastated my life. If your pet requires anything but standard vaccinations, do not depend on this clinic. They never even followed up. read more

I have officially found a veterinarian who I will for now on go to with all my pet needs. I have been to this location on three different occasions, and all three times were handled extremely well. The first was to take care of my cat who had a UTI. Given this is during the time of COVID-19, the office handled everything perfectly when it comes to social distancing. They have marked car spots where they will come pick up your pet. Long story short the vet who took care of my cat was able to help us find the reason she had the UTI. The second visit was an emergency visit with my small dog who was having a hard time breathing. After my main vet told me they had no room for emergency visits, I tried Augusta Ranch and they took my dog ASAP. Dr. Monica Bautista had seen my dog that day and took care of him. I was surprised at how inexpensive the emergency visit was and how quickly they were able to see him. The third visit was for my same dog who had been having neurological problems for a few months now. After taking him to my other main vet they were ready to refer me to a pet neurologist, but I did not have the money that the vet neurologist cost. So I decided to take him back to see Dr. Bautista since she had saw my dog last time. Let me say, Dr. Bautista took her time and did not rush me out the door. She heard all of my worries, listened to me explain all of my dogs symptoms, and really seemed to care about my dog compared to other places I have been in the past. She explained everything that was a possibility in what could happen to my dog with the specific plan we set for him. During his plan Dr. Bautista was a quick phone call away, and emailed me to check in on my dog. Let me say I have never had a vet email me, let alone contact me after to generally check in on my pet and myself. Long story short, unfortunately we had reached the end with my dog who I had to put to sleep. Dr. Bautista and the whole team was very understanding and made that moment as calm and peaceful as it could be in such a hard moment in any pet owners life. They put us in a room with a door to go outside afterwards so we didn't need to be seen by other people if we did not want to be seen. The whole team did not rush us, they gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our beloved friend. They walked us through everything and allowed us to stay with my dog through the whole process. Even in the end Dr. Bautista did not rush us out of the building and gave us all the time we needed. Dr. Bautista was very sweet and understood how upset we were. They even gave a complementary paw print with your dogs fur as a keepsake when you pick up your dogs ashes. A few days later I received a beautiful card in the mail from Dr. Bautista and the team. I have never received a sympathy card from any veterinarian office before Augusta Ranch. It shows how much they care for their patients and their owners. I apologize this review is so long, but I am blown away by the care and sympathy they had. Thank you Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital. Thank you to the whole team who took care of my pet during this hard time, and thank you so much Dr. Monica Bautista. I appreciate all you had done for my pet. I will be back. read more

After our pup was a patient there for 7 years and spending thousands of dollars with them(valley fever, broken bones etc) , it was time to put him down. I called and was put on hold to see *if they could work us in*. I was able to get him seen at 3p. After hanging up, they called back to remind me there would be a $90 charge for a same day visit. This after a $195 lab fee for valley fever titer on Monday. I called a mobile vet that was at my house within 90 minutes and helped us through an awful day. I will never, ever use this vet practice again and have been letting anyone know that will listen. They are only after the bottom line and have no interest in the pets. Find a vet that cares and is not just convenient. They were always after more bloodwork and higher treatments. Do not use no matter how convenient!!! Amazing Clinic. The office is nice and clean, and everyone from the receptionist to the doctor were attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable. I scheduled my 3 year old German Shepherd to establish care and address a digestion issue. The receptionist got my baby in same day, and made sure to request our records prior to the same day appointment. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and roomed right away. The veterinary assistant provided a thorough exam and gave us a cost estimate right away. The prices were very reasonable. When the veterinarian came in, she had completed a review of our pets history and really famiarized herself with conditions our boy had been experiencing. She was extremely considerate of our pets needs, and gave just the right amount of attention to our concerns. At the end of our visit we were provided tips and lots of educational materials. I can confidently say this is the best clinic we have ever visited. read more

We have taken sour cats to many veterinarians in the east valley. While most were good providers, none come close to the degree compassion and genuine love for what they do. We recently had to have one of our cats put down and the staff was awesome. Bethany shed a tear right along with us. Dr Holly, Dr Sandra, Kimberly, Jenni and Vicky are the ones we have dealt with but all the entire staff is fantastic! They offer treatment options, an pricing up front. The waiting room is divided so cats and dogs are separated, which helps a lot. This is the best pet care we have found. read more

This is an amazing clinic! This was our first visit, as we decided to switch from Banfield to a more local clinic. Everyone was very attentive and kind, my dog can be quite skittish during trips to the vet and easily spooked, fortunately the vet and vet techs were very understanding and made the process easy and smooth. What I appreciate most are their pricing, like past clinics I expected a huge bill with a bunch of hidden cost however, they were reasonable priced! I will definitely be returning here. read more
