Honestly, I want to gatekeep this place but that would be unfair…read more This is my favorite workout place. Between trying gyms, boutique Pilates studios, orange theory; F45 is the absolute king of work outs. I like F45 because they encourage you to lift more, and push yourself (safely). I feel muscles I've never felt before. I also feel stronger which is amazing. Usually I'd only lift 10-15 lbs max. But not here. I'm comfortable squating 44lbs, and 26lb for tricep extensions! Wth. Never thought I would do either. The coaches are so so nice. They will correct your form (I appreciate this a lot). I have only been to this location fyi. Initially, when you walk in, there's a white board that tells you the duration of the workout/rest periods, and how many laps and/or stations there are. There are cubbies for your stuff, and each cubby has a charger for your phone. They also have small towels for the workout class. There are also drinks and food if you're interested. Lastly, they have two bathrooms with showers. When class starts, the coach will do a quick run through of each station. Every class is so different. Not repetitive like OTF. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are cardio days. Tuesdays and Thursday's are (lifting) weight days. You can take a quick breather during class but they will cheer you on to finish the time out. You're there for a workout, after all. Usually if you are lost at the station, you can just copy the person next to you or look confused and the coach will come and show you again. Classes can include boxjumps, ski erg, rowers, weights, benches, resistance bands. Clases are usually 45 mins to an hour. What I like about this is that you're not waiting for the previous class to finish. They are usually gone, everything is wiped down/reset, and easy parking. I really love the community and the other members as well. The camaraderie is unmatched. They are all so nice, friendly, and welcoming. We are all shapes, sizes, and skin colors and working on our goals. I love that there are two water refill stations, two treadmills, a stair master, and a massage chair. Many accoutrements! They have a free 7 day trial period. Terrick is the owner and he's amazing!

The instructors are all awesome and they really push you. I also like that they aren't so pushy with buying more classes or gimmicky monitors. That was definitely a turn off for me with one of their competitors who shall remain nameless (starts with an Orange ).

I've been trying to switch it up with my workout routine to have more diversity with the exercises…read more I usually go to spin classes so I appreciate the cardio aspect of this but love that there is more weights involved. I recently tried Barry's and loved it so I figured I'd try this one as it's closer. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk got me checked in and told me I could wait until the earlier class finished so she could give me an overview. They do have lockers in the bathroom for your stuff; however, most people just left their stuff in the open cubbies at the front. One the earlier class let out, us first timers were brought into the room and shown how to work the treadmill since it wasn't a generic one. For this class, the room has blue lighting and the instructor is on an elevated platform (or should I say DJ booth). The stage is where the exercises are demonstrated and you can always look for the instructor. While Barry's usually does a clean split between time on the treadmill and then the floor... SWEAT has 5-7 minute intervals and rotations. I didn't love this as I was sharing a space with someone else so when I got to the floor... there was sweat from the other person over the bench and it was a bit gross. Additionally, I think more time gets wasted doing the transitions. The workout itself was great and the instructor was nice. When on the treadmill, I appreciate that they give a walk, jog and run option although with the speeds they mention... no way are you still walking unless you're doing your own thing. On the floor side, I do wish they offered more options or guidance to those who have injuries and can't do some movements. I understand it's a large class so it's not feasible but it's something to note. All in all, it was a good workout and I'd visit again BUT would still pick Barry's over this one.

Here is the honest review of Hotworx…read more The workout concept itself is actually great. The sauna-based workouts can be effective and enjoyable if that's all you're looking for. However, if you're considering the Manvel, Texas location, you should know that the strength training and weightlifting options are extremely limited. The space is very small and there is very little equipment available. If lifting weights or doing strength training is part of your routine, this location will likely be frustrating. I even requested additional equipment that would improve the space and never received any follow-up. The biggest issue, though, is the membership and cancellation process, which appears to be franchise-wide. First, they require you to cancel in person -- in 2026. That is incredibly unreasonable when most services allow cancellation online or over the phone. Second, if you freeze your membership, there is no notification when it's about to be unfrozen. They simply start charging your card again. And to make matters worse, canceling your membership can cost more than the monthly membership itself. So while the sauna workout concept is solid, the policies and lack of equipment at the Manvel location make the experience frustrating. Because the hassle might just not be worth it. It wasn't for us, and I'm seriously regretting it.
