    Great facility and community!…read more I emailed ANiMAL CrossFit earlier in the week to let them know I was interested in dropping in and someone got back to me in less than ten minutes to give me plenty of options accommodating my schedule. The box itself is a great space, and Coach Ryan and the community were so welcoming and supportive. If you're new to CrossFit, this box seems like a great place to get started. I could immediately tell that this was a Crossfit Gym that was based on community. They encourage each other to push past their comfort zones and celebrate them when they do and help you up when you fail. You will find a variety of people at this Box. From the Young 20 year old kids who want to compete in games to the 60 year old members who just want to lose a few pounds or maintain their current body. I myself struggled with my technique and diet in the beginning, fortunately for me the Coaches (Ryan, John and Keith) we on top of it. They worked with me on my skills while in class and even during Open Gym on Sundays. We set monthly goals that were attainable and I was encouraged each step of the way. I was deeply saddened when I had to leave due to work relocation. I know that I can stop by anytime and will be welcomed by everyone there. This Box will always be a home to me and I consider each member as family. I will always be an ANiMAL!

    I remember my first day at the box. At that point, I viewed a mile run as daunting. A strict…read morepullup was something I never could do or try. Getting 95 pounds over my head was grueling. The coaches encouraged me to keep trying and would go over technique over and over again with me until I could do it. The community here is welcoming, fun and really all around great. My classmates at the gym would cheer me on even if I was on the floor just trying to get back up for one more pushup in a puddle of sweat. Every time you try to set a personal record, everyone genuinely rallies behind you and gets pumped to watch you do it. I never been this fit in my life, dropping weight and adding on more muscle then I ever had. All the things you can't do, whether its breaking a plateau on a deadlift or attempting your first clean, you will as long as you put in the effort here. For the first time in my life, I can't wait to go to the gym, not dreading it or saying "I have to go" like I did with other places. If your looking to get into Crossfit, definitely add this to your list to check out. Its a huge well equipped facility, fairly priced and in a safe area with little traffic surrounding it.

    So here I am nearly 3 months into working out at Crossfit Meadowlands and my only regret is that I…read moredidn't know about Crossfit training earlier. Crossfit Meadowlands provides the most intense all-around workouts that I've ever experienced and I was working with good personal trainers for the past 1 1/2 years. However, CM takes training to a whole new level, and thus takes YOU to a whole new level. I thought that I was in pretty decent shape before CM, but quickly realized (from the very first workout) that I wasn't in as good all-around shape as I thought. The whole concept of Crossfit training is unique in that there no machines at this gym, YOU are the machine. Also, the training sessions are structured (apx 1 hr) in a small group setting. This is a very cool way to train because it's like a little family at CM and everyone encourages each other to push themselves; and you will be pushed to accomplish things that you never thought you could do. Everyone does the same workout, but just tailored to each individual's abilities. So whether you've been training for years or just rolling off of the couch, CM will accommodate your level of fitness. That's the beauty of Crossfit training.......you never plateau, you never become bored and you never stop striving to get to the next level. Even though it's a group setting, you're basically competing against yourself to become stronger and more fit. What's more, everyday is a different workout program, so you never get into that "rut" of a routine. Every workout has essentially the same 5 components which consists of: 1) stretching (and not touching your toes for 10 seconds, an all-around all-body stretch using CM techniques); 2) warm up (typically rowing or running); 3) strength (dedicated to building strength to a particular body part); 4) WOD (workout of the day-this is typically a nonstop set time limit workout incorporating both strength and cardio; 5) Closer (if you haven't dropped dead after the WOD, there's a closer for good measure which could be pushing a sled, flipping truck tires, climbing a rope, or some other tortuous activity. The trainers are awesome. Almost every exercise that I've done at CM is something new that I've never done before and the trainers really explain and demonstrate proper technique, which is essential to Crossfit training, especially when performing the strength moves using the barbells. If you're dead serious about getting yourself into incredible shape and looking and feeling better than you ever have, then CM is the gym for you!

I've never worked out before and was really unhealthy. Now I look forward to the workout every time. Give yourself a chance and enjoy a free trail to see why you will fall in love with exercising again. Crossfit Nutley is definitely the best gym in the area. Here are some highlights that distinguish them from competitors: * The essential classes- During the essential classes, you will learn all the basic movements that are built to daily workout. You get a lot of attention (essential classes are usually even smaller than regular sessions) and the instructors will get to know your fitness level to help you adjust later exercises once you are with a regular class. * They really focus on your forms- The instructors never, ever stop teaching you and always demonstrate every exercise and will monitor your movements. They will also help adjust the exercise with your level of fitness. They really push you hard but they also monitor the workout to make sure you never put yourself into a dangerous situation. * Small classes, easy parking. Clean facility and equipment- There are always spaces around the gym and parking is never an issue. You have to sign up before the class and the class is capped at 15 people max. This ensures you will have enough room to work out and you will not be stepping on each other. They clean the equipment for almost every class and the floor is mopped clean several times a day. * Cheaper classes, same effeteness as getting your own personal trainer- The basic membership is 3 times a week and the price is the cheapest/hr for this kind of physical training facilities around the area. Because you are working with a group, so you won't wing and complaint about your exercise and you get better effect than working with a personal trainer. * People are just so nice!! Everyone is just super kind. They don't judge you and they are always encouraging. You will definitely be motivated and look forward to every work out.

In just two weeks I feel better and healthier. I look forward to my workouts and can't get enough. So glad they opened a location in Nutley.
