I am a CrossFit newbie. I was getting bored and becoming lazy in the gym-you know, doing the same workouts everyday. So, I wanted to try something different with coaches/ trainers and a group. I found a Groupon to try out CrossFit Templum. The location is convenient for me and the schedule is accommodating. It's hard core, but I love that you can be at any level of fitness (beginner-advanced) and you get a good workout. My trial period was for 1 month, and I attended this box for 2 weeks. This is my overall impression: Coaches/Trainers: I tried out 4 coaches. As expected, they are all different. I do have my favorites. Eric's sessions are inspirational and push you to give your best. He's very observant, and as a newbie, I needed that. However, I had one coach who was particularly lazy or too relaxed to do anything- even to show me how to use a simple machine. I think that was because he is used to leading a group where all the members know exactly what to do and how to do it. There was no initial meeting where I discussed with a coach any of the following: -My goals (short & long term) -Nutrition -My daily habits -What is CrossFit, etc. I thought that was quite strange. In my experience, even when trying out traditional gyms to work out alone, the first step is to meet with a rep. None of the coaches ever asked me any questions. I also felt that there was not a sense of accountability in the group (s). I could miss 4 or 5 days and there was no encouragement to regularize visits from the coaches or members. That didn't surprise me as they didn't know why I was there in the first place. As for the group (s), they are small, which I liked. Some members were nice and encouraging. However, I didn't feel a strong sense of community or family. That's probably, because I was new to the group. For many I was nameless and would remain that way. I don't blame the members for that, I think it has to do with the culture that the coaches set. I was never introduced to the group as a whole and they were never introduced to me. This gym is not a good fit for me (my needs, wants, expectations and personality type). However, it seems to be working well for the members who are already there. Like I always say: You never know unless you try!

When I signed up on January 26, 2025, Jason clearly stated multiple times that my membership was "not a contract." He explained that I was only getting a promotional rate for February and that after returning from vacation at the end of February, I could decide if I wanted to continue. At no point was I clearly informed that I was being placed on automatic payments or that I needed to give 30 days' notice to avoid being charged again. If I signed up on January 26, that would mean I only had four days to cancel before March right after I got back from vacation--which makes no sense! To make matters worse, I left a voicemail before the charge went through asking them to pause my payments, but they never check their voicemails. When I finally reached out, they refused to refund me, even though they are able to. Instead of simply issuing a fair refund, the owner tried to "remediate" the situation by offering me a 10-pack use pass--but how does that make sense? Why would I continue to use their facility after going back and forth over the fact that I was misled into signing up for automatic payments in the first place? That's not a resolution, it's just another attempt to keep my money. I never would have agreed to an auto-payment, especially since I am observing Ramadan this month and wouldn't have committed to attending the gym when their last class starts at 5:30pm. This entire situation feels dishonest and predatory. If you're considering joining, be VERY careful about their billing terms because they do not explain them properly and will refuse to take accountability.

It has 2 bathrooms, a shower, fans, and a drink fridge (for purchase). All the coaches are super welcoming and do their best to get to know you and your fitness level. In my opinion, F45 is the best gym to get the perfect balance of strength and cardio training. The days are divided into Monday/Wednesday - Cardio, Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday - Strength, and Friday/Saturday- Hybrid. There are rotating programs of workouts every few weeks and you will never do the same workout back to back. There are TV screens in front of the studio showing a clip of each workout and the timing. The coaches will also explain and demo the workouts at the beginning of every class. This place is truly amazing! I highly recommend checking it out whether you're starting your fitness journey or if you're looking for a new gym! There's never a "bad workout" here!

All right Yelp, it's been awhile. I have a love-hate with sharing my favorite places because then…read morethey'll get too busy but dusting off my Yelp review skills because this place really deserves all the hype and kudos. So if you're on the fence, get your popcorn, here we go. I am the queen of workout studio classes - cycling, barre, pilates, HIIT, Orangetheory, F45, Equinox, classpass. Been there, done that. Each studio has their upsides and purpose depending on your fitness goals but at the end of the day, if you're anything like me, each studio loses its glamour due to the repetitive nature of the classes. In comes Madabolic! So you're wondering, how does this differ and why is it great?? 1. The workout does a great job of keeping things fresh - cycling between Durability Days (heavier weight focused at 80% efforts throughout), Momentum (building momentum efforts at 70%, 80% and 90%) and Anaerobic Days (all out 100% HIIT in your face days). Different things going on everyday and don't let the titles "Durability" fool you that it's a specifically a weight lifting day or that "Anaerobic" is strictly a cardio day - all days include a good ratio of both. Trust me, you will be sore (in a good way). 2. The coaches (and the people)! Granted I do 530am workouts where I'm barely awake for half of the class, but everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. Plus if you're a newb like me and working on your form, you actually get assistance with your form and help with modifying your workout if needed. 3. The difficulty. Finally a workout that accommodates both men and women (Couples workout? Day date? Anyone?). Similar to Orangetheory or F45, there are several options for weights depending on your level - but differing in the fact that the weight choices are clearly set by level so you know what to choose without having to guess and have something to build up to if you're looking to BUILD that muscle! 4. All right, the last thing. Let me address the elephant in the room - Boxing. Either you come in loving it or absolutely dreading it. I was definitely the latter. Every class includes it and I had maybe 10 minutes of boxing experience prior to this and hated this circuit so much in the beginning that I constantly considered quitting the studio every time. Hear me out - It grows on you and soon you'll begin to feel like a badass and recognize how great it is for your core and arms - trust me, it could be worse, you could be doing mountain climbers and push-ups everyday to work those muscles .
