We've been going to Crossroads for at least a year and today was the last time. Food is great and Happy Hour offers are great. Service has never been consistently good. Often, the staff is uninformed or just wrong about the details of the menu. Today, the waiter was VERY wrong about details of Happy Hour and when we asked, he tried to BS us with a story about it being seasonal or from this past Summer(not now). We complained the manager who became very defensive and walked off stating she needed to do a "Customer Review" or words to that affect. She seemed very insulted that my wife used a curse word. Mind you, we're in a bar and there were no children anywhere. Waiter and Manager both very unprofessional. She asked us to leave (we were already on our way out)... and never going back. read more

Great food, was actually pleasantly surprised! Some great items like the Nottingham Burger and the Grilled cheese. Their cheese curds and Mac 'n cheese are better than anyplace else. Their food is why they get 4 stars! The games are fun, lots to chose from. It's truly a place for gamers. For the rest of use there are some good options as well. The staff is a little lacking. Quiet, not very friendly or interactive but efficient. They were out of almost every cider on the menu which was frustrating. When one of my friends asked about mead one of the servers said she didn't know anything about them, thought it was a type of beer. Tonight I ordered 3 pizzas and picked them up. When I got home I found that I had three boxes of Stouffers like 3 French bread pizzas and paid almost $30 for them. I called to complain as I have been a frequent customer of this establishment for many months since they came to Old Town and was told by the manager on duty "well we need to update our website because we no longer offer full plate pizzas, and oh well that you paid $27, I guess we lost a customer in you" AND SLAMMED DOWN THE PHONE. That was a manager's response at 7:51 pm on 1/11. I will NEVER patronize this establishment again and since he thinks that it's an "oh well, guess we don't give an *f* because we took you for your money and don't care" then I'm im going to go above and beyond to show that you can't do that in business. I'm very well established in this area and collectively, and I mean COLLECTIVELY, we will take our business elsewhere. Enjoyed Saturday brunch at my first visit to Crossroads. It was fun reading the menu of creatively named dishes. Our server, Ke'alohi, was friendly, attentive, and made an on point recommendation to get the raspberry coulis with the Brioche French Toast. My meal was delicious with that coulis, not overly sweet. One of my dining partners had the Monte Cristo that came with the coulis, which she enjoyed. Ke'alohi also recommended, and helped us find games to play at our table after asking about our likes. I've been coming here for over 10 years and this place's food has had a major glow up. I would recommend anything on the menu now. They all have cute names and they are delicious. You're obviously here for the board games and they have a lot. Don't know what you wanna play? First time visit. I was in Manassas for the Spring 2022 Arts and Craft Festival near the Manassas Museum. We were strolling the streets of Old Town, to see if there were any restaurants that peaked our interest. We saw Crossroads and thought the board game and eating concept, was a unique one, and something we hadn't experienced before. We're not big games people, but we definitely love our fair share of Scategories. We ordered some drinks and burgers. The food is your standard bar fare. But, all of it was very tasty! I went to Crossroads Tabletop Tavern a few weeks to celebrate the birthday of a good friend who likes table top games. When I first walked in I was amazed at the amount of board games that there were on the wall. It is evident that the owner of the establishment takes great pride in business given the size of the selection and the quality of the games! At other establishments such as the Board Room in DC and Arlington the games cost money and sometimes suffer in quality do to mishandling but here all of the games were free of charge to take to your table and were in very good shape. The staff was friendly and attentive though a bit quirky. The food was okay...just typical bar food (chicken strips, french fries, burgers etc.) so don't expect too much there. Additionally they had a wide variety of beer and cocktails that were named after various nerdy and geeky things. Pictured is the butterbeer that I ordered from the bar! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is interested in spending an evening with friends drinking and playing board games. The only issue is the distance given it's in Manassas and I am in Arlington, and some of the patrons at this place follow the usual stereotype of those that like boardgames and could benefit from a fresh stick of deodorant and a shower. read more

We came here for a date night, the concept is awesome! They have so many games to choose from! If you need anything from a waiter, you just flip up a playing card and someone will come to help; it's great when you're in the midst of a game! The music was super fun too, when we were there, they played classic rock the whole night. My biggest bummer was the food but I also wasn't expecting a 5 star meal. We split the loaded fries - they were good. Then we had a burger and my chicken tenders - both were average. They do serve Nathan's ice cream - that was my favorite part! Then it took about 30-40 mins for our food. We had 4 different people take care of us because it wasn't communicated who was our server. Wear a coat while you eat at this place or you'll freeze to death in the winter. There are tables right in front of the door, and every time the door is opened you get a blast of freezing air. To make matters worse, the host kept going to the door and holding it open while he yakked at some people out on the sidewalk! After sitting down at one of the tables, we kept wondering why we never got menus or had any waiter come. Turns out you have to scan a QR code to get the menu on your phone, and then display a playing card when you're ready to order. It's very irritating and crazy. Even after putting the playing card up on display, nobody came. So we had to physically flag somebody down. Long story short, it took forever to get food and drinks, and what we DID finally get was revolting. Breaded mushrooms that were mushy and made with NO salt, chicken breast that was so tough you'd need a machete to cut it up, and desserts that were just plain awful. The final blow was the bill. Severely overpriced, bland, inedible food...and freezing the whole time while you're trying to eat, equals: "I'm never stepping foot in here again." This place needs to decide whether it wants to be a game stop OR a restaurant, because it obviously can't do both. Ugh. Just UGH. read more

I enjoyed my meal a lot (ordered via Grubhub) but there were multiple issues with the execution of the meal, which matters to me. I ordered the Sheriff of Nottinghamburger, which came with a side of fries, the Goldberry Ambrosia, and root beer. Honestly, it was all delicious across the board. However, regarding the burger- the description reads that a bleu cheese spread is on the buns, and instead I got a bleu cheese dip as a side. Not sure why Crossroads did that, as I didn't ask for it. It wasn't the biggest deal, but the burger ended up tasting quite sweet without that contrasting flavor, so it was a bit weird overall. I used the dip for my fries as I didn't have ketchup and they didn't provide me with any. They also didn't provide utensils, which I requested. A lack of utensils made it kinda freaking hard to eat the pudding I ordered, the Goldberry Ambrosia. Regardless, this dessert was delicious, and the combination of cream, graham cracker crumbles, pudding, & chocolate was just enough without being too sweet or overwhelming. However, it's clear someone cooked the custard too fast and didn't pay attention to detail- there were SO MANY LUMPS. I feel like I ate more egg lumps than pudding. If you're going to rush through the process at least put your pudding through a chinois or other fine-mesh strainer. It was honestly unpleasant to eat despite the flavor being fantastic. I see myself eating from here again. I hope in subsequent meals Crossroads will pay as much attention to the little things that make or break a meal as they did to the quirky meal names they obviously worked overtime to create. read more

First, let me say that I cannot speak to the food in this tavern as we did not stay to eat. Which is why I didn't give 5 stars. However, now that that's out of the way everything else about this place is awesome! There are wall to wall filled shelves with every game imaginable. From adult games, to kids, cards, nerdy, classic and everything in-between they have it! The best part is you can play them for free while you eat! The seats are made out of like authentic baseball stadium seats and the decor is sweet. They also do a great job of making little areas for each diner and group. On this particular Saturday, it was around lunch and my husband and I stopped in. There were two friendly staff out on the floor. One side is games that are for sale and the other side is the restaurant. There was a young boy and I'm assuming father playing chess while enjoying lunch. We perused the game selection and were very impressed. I wish this place was closer to home, as we live in Alexandria and were just visiting for a day trip. This place has a really cool concept. They have thousands of board games that you can play there and things for purchase. We went during restaurant week in Manassas City. It was a Saturday afternoon. They opened at Noon. Firstly, the wait staff was friendly in the beginning. You put a card up in a holder if you want service at the table. I think this threw us a little because no one was checking on us. But that is how they operate. The beer list was good. They have a variety of Virginia beers and an extensive list of cocktails and mock tails. Food. This is where we were highly disappointed. It was restaurant week so we ordered the golden snitches (fried Mac n cheese balls) off that menu. They were 3 for $5. When we received them, the waiter told us that they were the last ones. We found that odd since they just opened for the day. We were excited to try them but they were luke warm and nothing to write home about. We ordered our kids foods then another appetizer. When we ordered our entrees, the waitress said there was a backup in the kitchen. We thought that's ok, we can wait since the other appetizer had been ordered way before with the kids food. Our kids were getting really hungry. We asked about their food and they finally came out. The kids hot dogs were really cool, made into octopus shapes. My son's Mac n cheese was ok, it was warm not hot. Our food took over an hour to get. We asked about it and they came back with 1 of the 4 meals. Then 5 minutes later, the rest of the food came to the table. My husbands burger came with regular fries even though he ordered sweet potato fries and the burger was over cooked, not medium like he ordered. We didn't complain though because we were starving over the wait time. The French toast Monte cristo wasn't worth it. I was so excited for it but you barely got a French toast taste on the bread. I was expecting a ton of ham with cheese. It had about 2-3 slices of ham in it. It was very thin. I expected it to be way better based on menu. Overall, I wouldn't return for food. There's a new game in town... actually, there's several hundred of them! When you dine at the Crossroads Tabletop Tavern you're encouraged to choose one and play while you eat. Recently opened right on Main Street in the heart of old town Manassas, Crossroads offers tasty pub grub for lunch and dinner with a gamers twist. Every dish is either named for and/or inspired by a game. Most shareable appetizers also come conveniently portioned into bite sized pieces to make it easier to eat while you play. I can vouch for the burgers being juicy and delicious and they come cooked to order in a variety ranging from super hot and spicy (the ancient dragon) to mildly seasoned (the hatchling). There are several seating areas all offering a variety of table sizes to accommodate groups ranging from 2 people to 20 or more. Can't choose a game? The servers are happy to answer questions and offer guidance. If you like the game you're playing you can even buy your own to take home. Crossroads encourages "unplugging" from your devices in favor of interacting with other people directly, so one thing you won't find there are a lot of places to plug in. Altogether a great place to grab a burger, sandwich or snacks and spend some time with friends and family playing a game. Came to this lovely place last night around 10:30, once we walked in, I wasn't sure how the seating worked and there were people around but I couldn't tell if they worked there, or if they were just standing near the host stand. We asked a guy how the place works and he explained there's two levels and we can sit wherever. We grabbed one of the four seater tables and grabbed a game. The only games you can't take are the ones on the black shelves. I don't know if the gentleman who explained the seating to us was also a server, the girl serving around us told him to take our table and he seemed like he wasn't expecting it. We had no silverware, plates to eat appetizers, and we asked for extra sour cream but it never came. Other than that he was very nice and attentive with us, and he was able to answer all our questions. We ordered Totchi Koro which is basically loaded tots, however as mentioned before we needed more sour cream because they don't put a lot on the tots. We also got chicken tenders which comes with fries, and three different sauces of your choice. It was all delicious! They have a good list of drinks. Overall this place is fun, there are TONS of board games, and the food is surprisingly good. The only con was it felt vastly disorganized, but maybe it was just an off night. read more

Wow, what a great find! We were in the area for the first time and stumbled upon this place. We were there during brunch hours and had three different dishes. The Highlander was excellent, the Full Monte Christo was really good, and the Creped Crusaders hit a spot even though the crepes could have been a tad thinner. The presentation of the dishes was as good as the taste. Clearly, whoever is in the kitchen is thoughtful about the food they make. We've been going to Crossroad's since they opened and we love the atmosphere and the games! We love the knowledge and willingness to teach us a new game. I've always thought the food was meh. Very imaginative, but not very tasty and not great value (serving sizes so small and prices so high) But tonight! I haven't been since covid started, but I had my nephews in town for one more night and my daughter wanted to give them this experience. Tonight I was so pleased with the food...very well prepared, decent sizes, great flavor and we loved the new Mocktails for the alcohol free crowd. I love the atmosphere here because I also love board games. However, on a recent visit it took 30 minutes for me to get a beverage. The wait staff is usually pretty hands-off, which is why they have the card system for you to get their attention. But it's hard to get their attention if they never come by your table. Okay so if I lived in Manassas I would actually never leave this place. So, I came here for a get together with my friend and some of his friends for a board game night, and it was amazing. When you walk in, it's every board game you could ever imagine (and then some) all in one place. It's pretty much nerd heaven, in the best way. The servers are super attentive and they have a bar upstairs and it seems like they have a really decent cocktail menu. I didn't have any food or drinks, but my table ordered a tower (yes, a TOWER) of eggrolls and it seems like they have different flavors like buffalo chicken. Everyone seemed to think the food was great, so I can't wait to go back and try the food for myself. Also, they have all the Dungeons and Dragons handbooks and lots of table space so it would actually make the perfect space for have your DnD sessions if you're part of a campaign or something. Or just bring a few friends to hang out and play your favorite board games. You really can't go wrong here. I'll make sure to do an update for when I come back and try the food, but I'm sure it'll be fabulous. read more

I've been going to Crossroads for about 4 years now. If I ever need help choosing a game or need to know more about a games mechanism either Sam or John are very helpful.
