I stopped by Red Rock to pick up a carry out order for lunch recently. I was craving Tex-Mex. I got the wings and steak quesadilla. The quesadilla was pretty good but I was not a fan of the wings. Their wing were pretty strong. I was expecting wings that were not too tough to eat. Unfortunately it messed up my stomach pretty badly. Good going down but... yeah. They allow vaping indoors. It's so bad that my throat, nose, and eyes got severely irritated while there on 1/14/2026. I asked the guy working the bar at 11:00 PM (brown hair w/ beard) if it was their policy to allow vaping indoors and he said, "as long as it isn't weed". Virginia Code §15.2‑2824 prohibits smoking and vaping in indoor public places, including bars. It's not clear if the bartender spoke for the establishment or not. I should also note that the bartender laughed at me when I walked away after telling him it was illegal (the customer he was serving was also vaping along with at least five people at the poker tables). If I misunderstand the applicable law, then I will delete this review. read more

I love this place and all the regular locals. It's such a dive. But you appreciate that. You can watch games here, they have live music. Their happy hour goes on FOREVERRRRR which is the best part. They have like 50 types of margaritas! The food is so so, but the environment is great. read more

Felt like part of the family. Couldn't feel more welcomed. So glad we decided to stop. Everything here was great....the staff, the service, the food and of course the drinks. We started with some chicken wings and steak quesadillas. Nice size portions. The enchiladas with Scallops and Crab, I know it sounds strange --the flavors of this dish were mouthwatering...absolutely delicious, even left over I ate every bite. My friend ordered the chorizo fajita dinner....yummy... Come hungry ... Portions generous, priced more than fair.. I really enjoyed my Jimmy Buffet margarita...lots of tequilas to choose from ...I tried few different shots, Always on the look out for another favorite ... This place was okay. The food wasn't the best, it's very mediocre. The jalapeño poppers were the only thing we liked. But the food isn't really anything special, the drinks are good and the place is great to have drinks with friends but don't have high expectations for the food. I have to give five stars. The value on the happy hour specials are awesome. They have four dollar nachos which is outstanding. The ambience is very good. This is a good dive bar with good prices. I hadn't been here in a long time and came back because of a Groupon I found online (the deal was amazing and I was shocked they had such a good promo running!). This restaurant is full of great menu items and happy hour specials. We got happy hour margaritas and they were alright but we ended up switching to the beer specials. The menu is full of options and each of us tried something different. All of the food was really hot and delicious. The portion sizes here are no joke! Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. The food has no taste; it's frozen and reheated. We waited so long for our food with no one even checking on us. The establishment is not clean, the staff is rude. When I tried to complain, the manager is worst than the staff. Their outdoor area which is a parking lot turned to outdoor dining is not clean. Had a great lunch today and service was awesome. Sandra our server made us and all the other patrons feel at home. The restaurant is doing a great job in following safe Covid practices.. There was an automated machine in the entrance that takes your temperature. Loved my soft taco and would've taken pictures of the crispy red fish entrée but it was eaten already. Came in late night, I ordered 2 flavored margaritas and watched how they were made.. absolutely no tequila was introduced to my beverage. They didn't even have any pour spouts on the bottles so they were free pouring and did a very bad job at it. Most importantly the service towards my girlfriend and I was just out of pocket. No eye contact was made at all it almost seemed like they didn't want anyone inside of their establishment. I felt truly disrespected and disappointed by this establishment. They Wouldn't take our name for a waitlist and we were told " if you can find a seat, just sit down". I was honestly a little shocked by their careless and rude behavior. With "Tequila" in the restaurant name, you know they have to have a large selection of tequilas on their menu! My teammates and I used to come here (almost) weekly for pre-game or post-game draft drink specials which end at 9pm. They also have a food menu but I haven't really tried much from it yet. Certain nights they'll have special events and the place can be packed as they've closed off sections for table reservations. Fast forward to today & over the last five years that I've been frequenting more often - I now see Red Rocks as a simple, staple neighborhood bar with regular patrons (always see the same faces) with good eats & great prices! Started back some years ago with a Groupon for grub & found out they got some pretty flavorful Mexican dishes at reasonable prices that are served in hefty portions! Plus a great kids menu, again with great portions + healthy fruit sides. Yes, a neighborhood bar mostly, but there is a front dining area closed off from the bar. Few times I brought my kids it was never late night or weekend & always followed them to the bathroom that's through the bar. My favorite dishes are the mixed fajitas & there's an apple dessert that's to die for! Specifically a tequila bar with 150+ options; including my favorite of Casamigo which is hard to find but with that many options its the norm. Staff has always been easy going & tentative. Most if not all holidays & special events are celebrated with awesome decorations, special menu options & specialty drinks. Not sure of there's a regular calendar, but have seen live bands, karaoke, poker & trivia nights. This is my first visit, it's midday on a Monday and there's a healthy, cheerful crowd that appears to be majority regulars. Bartender Pete was fabulous. Gave him a price range (because prices run from 3 to 68 dollars a shot!) and asked for two shots that were as different from each other as possible, while still being recommended. Both shots were phenomenal, Pete was personable and fast with everyone. Cannot think of the last time I had such a great initial visit to a bar! read more

My friends and I love coming to RR after our fxa games. We love the staff and are very much close with them as they recognize us as the huge group of asians that come every tuesday and thursday. However, the short female brunette server that wore a purple shirt and jeans on Thursday was by far the worst experience I've ever encountered at any restaurant. When we got seated she didn't even greet us but says "I need to see everyone's ID and a separate credit card for every single person" We were all shocked because we've never had to show all our ID's especially because some of us wouldn't be drinking. Also, a lot of us split the tab because the food at RR are shareable. When I tell her I'm not drinking she says "I still need to see it so that I don't have to keep an eye on you all night" I say okay because maybe she's having a bad day. When she goes over to my friend who forgot his wallet in the car and can't show his ID, she goes "Okay whatever but if I see you with a drink in front of you ALL of you have to leave immediately" I'm not sure where or if she ever learned a little something called manners but that's not how you talk to people who are going to be tipping you. After she begrudgingly took our orders, she turned around and said "also whenever you leave the table you have to wear a mask or else you all have to leave" Like is this a new thing? Threatening to kick out your customers if they make a mistake? We're not stupid, we understand that there's a pandemic. Hence, my friends and I are always the ones wearing masks whenever we are not at our table. Overall, I really wanted to tip her nothing but knew that the servers probably split tip. If she is our server one more time then I won't hesitate to be a karen. I understand that things are tough especially during these times, but I'm all about "I'll respect you if you respect me" and she did not show any to me or my friends. absolutely pitiful. read more
