Surprised by all the low reviews. I thought this place was a solid diner, plenty options and good service. We started with the mozzarella sticks which tasted good in comparison to others I've had at diners. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and it was huge, served with plenty of fries and was nice and hot. My friend ordered a wrap also and she enjoyed it. Last night was the third time we've ordered from Crosstown Diner(and the last!). The first time was amazing! The second time....meh....but this last time was the absolute worst! My boyfriend ordered Bayou Linguine that comes with "cajun spiced" chicken and shrimp and I ordered Penne a la Vodka/w chicken. Yes, the food was steaming hot, but what does that matter when the food is horrible! His pasta tasted like herring and my pasta...was just like regular old pasta and canned sauce! The chicken was the absolute worst! It was like boiled chicken breast. Not even seasoned with a little black pepper and salt! Also, we had the same chicken in our dish...no color I was so pissed, and of course they wouldn't refund, or try to replace it with something else. The manager (I assume) kept saying oh the food was sent hot, the food was just how we asked for it....I didn't ask for bland nasty food! read more

My wife order at 2:55pm the guy said it will take an hour. She called after an hour and a half. She was told it's on the way. 2 hours went by. Still no food. She called again they called the driver. He didn't even have the order. The order was never even prepared. We canceled. They apologized but never offered any form of compensation for our troubles. We are done with this diner. Never again. In the past the always took over an hour and was often cold. They over charge anyway. Update: Decided to give them another chance. We ordered from Uber Eats. The app showed 3 different drivers attempting to pickup our food. After almost 2 hours , suddenly the order was canceled. We called the restaurant and explained. The guy said I have nothing to do with Uber Eats. That you need to contact them. If your restaurant uses the service, then you certainly do have to have some sort of involvement. We are so done with this place! We were hoping for a better experience. read more

How can you possibly mess up a panini with grilled chicken, avocado and cheese? Well by completely leaving the cheese out, not pressing the panini on a grill and chopping the chicken. It never fails! This place makes money by charging people for things that they don't give people. Never again! This is the fifth time we ordered in five weeks and each time things are messed up. Let's talk about how this diner is price gauging. I attempted to order a salad w/ no protein and a Greek wrap. My total was 35.00. This just didnt add up. Salad was 9.99 and Greek wrap was 12.99. I asked the cashier to break down the total. Her reply, "17.99 for wrap and an additional charge for a side salad (did I mention that this wrap included a choice of fries or side salad) another additional charge for raw onions" She seemed to be making up the prices as she went along. A. You can't beat a Greek Diner burger. My wife won't let me try hers. B. You can't beat a Greek Diner salad. I gotta say that was the best poached salmon salad I have ever had. C. People have commented on delivery issues. In the past we had issues with ordering through Grub Hub. Cross town has fixed this. Their new website was much faster. We got ours in about 30 min. This is the worst food I've tasted in a very long time. First the prices are absurd considering the horrible quality of food. I ordered taquitos which came cold with old lettuce and Tomato, no sauce on top and no cheese? And over 15 bucks then the taste of it was wet, saucy and very spicy. I used to love this diner as a kid. Craving a burger I thought back to this place. Ordering through seamless I placed an order for two WELL DONE burgers. The burger I got was sloppy, soggy, undercooked, and DISGUSTING. It had many fatty pieces from the two bites I did take AND it tasted like frozen patties no seasoning, NOTHING. The other burger was well done but had a hair.. not to mention the curly fries that came with it were mostly burned. At 16 a burger this is a huge disappointment. Not only was food terrible but the woman who was answering the telephones on Tues November 5th around 3:30 was extremely rude, unapologetic and unaccommodating. I think a lot of the folks leaving reviews for this place are forgetting that this is a DINER and not a Michelin starred restaurant. What are you really expecting? The crosstown diner has been a long standing establishment on Bruckner blvd in the Bronx/Throggs Neck. The food is delicious and while the prices may be a bit high, the portion size of each meal is almost always enough for you to take home a little bit. They have great desserts and shakes too, in addition to an outstanding menu. Is the menu too big? Yes. But that's not our concern. It should be theirs. From my middle of the night munchie attacks from when I was a teenager right up to now, the crosstown diner has always been a great place to eat and a perfect place to meet up with family and friends. After waiting for an hour for my food. I didn't get what I ordered. I asked for an Italian grilled chicken panini and I got a pita wrap with chicken and when I asked the waiter why was I given a wrap he said well, that's the bread he had no clue. I asked for manager who was at the counter and he sent the waiter back to me again. My family and I came here yesterday after a long day of shopping. We were looking for somewhere to eat for hours as we are from Toronto and I saw some good reviews and was in the area so we stopped here. The menu is very overwhelming (in a very good way). I think the only thing not on the menu is pizza. There are cocktails, spiked milkshakes, smoothies, seafood, pasta, burgers, wraps, Greek food, salads EVERYTHING. The portions are humongous! We were all starving and none of us could finish our food. The food prices are great especially since you're getting such great amounts of food. From the servers, to the managers, everyone was extremely nice and friendly. We were able to joke around with our server as well as the manager of the diner. All-in-all a great experience! Though it arrived in less than an hour, the presentation was sub par and the price was a bit steep. I paid just over $26 for a Belgian waffle with bacon (which was laid on top of the bacon) , two pieces of French toast with bacon and a side of home fries. That's over $26 without a drink!
