Usually run in for a coffee before I catch my bus to work - stopped in for my usual and went to the spot I ALWAYS order from. Any other time the short man takes my order with no issue -this time he's telling me to go around to the lady to order-mind you he's standing right in front of coffee area she is NOT. Furthermore he was not actively taking any one's order. He did however seem more interested in assisting a gentleman with a stroller (who btw had already placed an order and was just standing there). He kept gesturing towards him and making conversation, thus telling me to order with her instead of taking my simple coffee order. I can't say I've ever had anything I didn't like here. Their breakfast is the only thing that makes dragging my ass out of bed to work for a double on Sunday mornings. Ordered breakfast through Grubhub. Delivery was quick and everything was wrapped well. Ordered coffee and they plastic wrapped to avoid any spills. The eggs were fluffy and the chorizo was still hot. I just ordered from Dyre Diner on this very hot and muggy day three meals. The first, buttermilk pancakes that were delicious! The second, Chicken Cesar salad, delish, enough for two people! The third, their Dyre Salad, once again DELIiSHHhhh, and enough for two people!!!! Beautiful presentation,the meals came in a very sturdy large paper bag stapled together and the meals came in those black containers with semi-clear top; clean containers and not dirty on the bottom.. they also followed my requests for dressing on the side and add avocado to the salad!! Ordered some over easy eggs and corn beef hash with silver dollar pancakes my bf ordered home fries with over easy eggs. Food was mediocre eggs had to be returned they were not over easy. while uncle is doing his physical therapy nearby i took a short trip to dyre ave diner in the bronx to grab some breakfast which is better then waiting 2 hours for ucnk to finish. nothing fancy about this diner as its no frills serving decent breakfast and lunch . place is not that big but enough seating to fit a good crowd. service is quick , prices are reasonable and you really cant screw up egg whites with homefries and whole wheat toast unless you really try or happen to be the worst short order cook. overall a good diner for a quick bite for breakfast and lunch. read more

I love this diner for its burgers. They make the best burgers in the neighborhood. I didn't like their breakfast because I found their beef sausages to be the most salty. I had a birthday lunch there last year since I live next to them and I love supporting our local businesses. The vegetables were watery ..no test and overcooked. Food came quick, it was higher quality food and it was always accurate. Now a lot of times it's not what I ordered the way I order it. The meats and certain food taste cheap and fatty. Great neighborhood diner. I've been coming here for years. Delicious food. Very friendly staff. Can get very busy, hectic & jampacked during the weekday morning rush hour & Sunday mornings. The wait for just coffee can take 10 minutes sometimes, you can miss your train if you wait. That's my only gripe. If you're not in a rush, this spot is definitely worth a shot. I have been ordering from this diner since I moved to the Bronx almost 4 years ago. The food is decent, typical diner fare and delivery orders go out fast enough. However I've noticed lately that the portions are decreasing drastically. An order of sausage that used to be 4 pcs is now just 3 pcs. A bacon egg and cheese sandwich that used to have 4 pcs of bacon is now just 2 pcs. I recently ordered a sandwich minus the bread and what was sent for the same price was way less than what would have been filled in the bread. I've ordered burgers a few times and they have been scorched to the point that you can barely bite into the meat. I spoke with the manager and he claims that there have been no changes in the portion size or quality of service. However I do not find this to be true.
