Love this place! Playa is my favorite place to order acai bowls. I love their tropical acai bowl the best! It comes with bananas, granola, coconut, honey and acai. Their food is always fresh and delicious; the tropical bowl is my go to order here. They also have other acai bowls and toppings you can add to your bowl. This location has beachy decor and plenty or indoor seating. I love the relaxed vibes at this location and the art work on the walls and ceiling. It almost makes you feel like you're at the beach. In the warmer months, they also have outdoor seating available. They also have smoothies, drinks, snacks, and more available, too. We love coming to playa bowls. Staff is always so helpful and they make accommodations and substitutions easy. My daughter came in and for example I don't like kiwi but the mermaid bowl had it, easily was able to sub it out for strawberries. They also have this cool summer menu going on if you are into those kinds of flavors.... Although a bit limited in combination. My only suggestion would be to have a kids size bowl or smaller size bowl option. I wish this place was better because the bowls are honestly pretty good and the location is convenient, but the staff here makes it unbearable. You can tell when you walk in that none of them want to be there, and they act like they dont want you to be there either. Some serious attitude problems toward both the customers and each other. I've been to this location multiple times and Ive felt welcome ONCE back in February, but I haven't seen that employee since then. I dont blame her if she quit because her coworkers seemed to like her less than they liked me me when I came in. I tried coming back thinking I came on a bad day, but nope! Every time I come here the employees are shooting nasty looks, complaining, and are downright rude. Truly disappointing because this place has potential but with horrible service, I will not be coming back anytime soon. They should do a complete rehiring because apparently I am not the only one who has noticed this. I have been to no less than 8 Playa Bowls (2 in Belmar NJ ( including the original location), Asbury Park NJ, Red Bank NJ, Long Beach Island NJ, Pleasantville NY, White Plains NY, and this one in Bronxville NY), and, by far, Bronxville Playa Bowls is the best on every count. Louie, the owner, runs a tight ship and he personally trains each staff member to ensure the highest quality product and customer service. I have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of each of the ingredients, which are always top shelf. Unlike other locations, Bronxville Playa Bowls never skimps on its products. Every bowl I have ever eaten there is always brimming over the top with goodies. I only can review what I ordered - an oatmeal and fruit bowl. I have had really good playa bowls so was looking forward to this as a take-out brunch. First, they give you the oatmeal in the bottom and put the other stuff on top, then sprinkle cinnamon over the whole thing. Nothing is mixed. That surprised me. But, ok - I tried eating it. So, this is the experience: you are eating a layer of cinnamon, a layer of banana and blueberries ($1 extra), then comes the oatmeal. So bad - dry and tasteless! Oatmeal is supposed to be mushy and a little nut-like. Thought I would try to make it better, so brought it home and poured all into a bowl, mixed it with vanilla yogurt and tried it that way. (Most of the playa bowls I tried in the past have yogurt and are mixed, not layered.) The yogurt, fruit and cinnamon worked, but the oatmeal was still dry and tasteless. And this was about $12.00. I gave half to my husband he concurred with what I was experiencing. So we threw it out. They also have shakes so maybe those are good, but for now I won't be going there again, which is too bad because it's 10 minutes from my house. read more

The greatest juice/smoothie/bowl place in town. From the phenomenal staff to the owner, every time I go it's the same amazing experience. The ladies there are fantastic & marvelous! I LOVE IT!!! This is an amazing breakfast, lunch and dessert place. This Playa Bowl in Bronxville is so cool - nicely decorated with original antique ceiling tiles and the use of a surf board for wall decor. They even have COCONUT bowls along with the typical Açaí bowl that is found in most places in NYC. Also the owner is so nice, when I asked him about opening slightly earlier so that I could catch my train he said just call several minutes before and he will open the doors for me. Too cool !
