This location does a great job lifting up PRIDE, and highlights minority authors and banned books. FanGirl for that. Many Yelpers verbalize complaints about low exchange rate on books we bring in. I also observe this. But I am glad for the opportunity to lower my haul by selling books. I rarely leave with less than one toteful of purchases so anything helps.

The year was 1994 and Plano was still in its initial stages of exponential growth. Everyone was so excited that B&N was opening one of their huge and well stocked book stores. I spent many hours in this store over the years. Not so many lately as it has declined in a significant way. On a positive note they have recently opened a smaller store in the area. These guys have really maximized space here without making for a cramped vibe…read more The shelves serpentine around the place making for niches and coves that lend an element of privacy to your perusals. All the usual suspects are here including new releases, fiction, non-fiction, children's etc. They've even managed to wedge in a small Travel and Texas section, which pleases me. Being a somewhat smaller store they have done a few things to save space like shortening the list of available magazines. Where's my Gun and Garden? The In store Starbucks seems way to big and isn't layed out very well. All in all though,I'm glade that Barnes and Noble survived the retail fallout and secondly,opened a new store. Always a good thing and it feels good. Go!

The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
