Best stationary store in DFW! Love the Campus smooth paper and the pen selection. The other cute stuff is a bonus.

Located in the Mitsuwa marketplace this little stationery store has so many cute stickers and books. Good place to walk around and look at cute things in general and then go off to the food court and enjoy a meal. Super nice staff and although it is small, it is PACKED with so many goodies. A bit on the expensive side as far as stationery goes, but still cute to look at and splurge a little. read more

We love coming to this bookstore inside of the Mitsuwa japanese grocery store. It has so many cute items like smiski figures, sonny angels, anime merch and books, sanrio merch, pens, buttons, stickers, pusheen, wawa froggie clips, and more!! It is always nice to walk inside and come out with little goodies for yourself. Although the prices are more on the expensive side, it is nice to get a cute item every once in awhile! 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a gift for someone or a pick-me-up for yourself! read more

A huge selection of manga, anime merch, other books, etc. I felt like the prices were decent, and it's very rare to find somewhere with this much Ghibli merch too! They also have a wall with various gundam stuff. Cashier was friendly and efficient as well. Very fun to visit! read more

Very small store witching a shopping plaza, but packed with so many options and trinkets. The employees were kind but not going above and beyond as stated in previous Yelp reviews. Was not able to find the manga I was looking for that they used to carry, Oinshinbo, but found some other gems nonetheless. Wife found a great poster as well. Pretty cool bookstore inside the amazing Mitsuwa complex up in Plano right off the highway. They have a little bit of everything in here from soft serve and food to bakeries and desserts and ice cream and bookstores = this one. And of course the big grocery store section. Barbie really loves this book store and spent a little bit too long in here considering we were in a hurry. And she bought something too! I think it's a Japanese dessert/cookbook. She hasn't used it much, but then she hasn't used me much lately either. read more

So this is obviously a niche market, which means the pricing is going to be higher than your average store. They sell lots of adorable gifts and anime-themed items, many of which you can get online for way cheaper, but some selections which you might not find anywhere else. If you're a big fan of in-person brick-and-mortar shopping for your anime cutesy fandom needs, this is the place for you. Most of what we saw varied between stationary, anime themed plushies, anime, and keychains, figurines, and Japanese books. If you're looking for a deal that you won't regret paying for, I'd check your online options instead. Otherwise it's a nice place to stop by while waiting for your SO to finish grocery shopping, or while waiting for your food at the cafe next door. read more

This store is located in Mitsuwa, directly next to Santouka in the food court. This store offers a lot of books, stationery, gifts, household, and anime fangirl stuff for people like me, haha. Other than cute and kawaii gifts and household items, there are merchandise for various things, like Miyazaki (Totoro, Spirited Away), Sanrio, and more. I was close to buying a Russian doll set of the Spirited Away characters but it was very expensive, as most imported goods are ($30 when I visited Japan vs $70 here; I should have bought it in Japan!). They do have super cool vintage posters illustrating various items, like maps and flowers, that you can easily frame. These posters are about $5 and as a cost effective way to decorate your home. I bought a few myself! Overall, this is a pretty cool gift store at Mitsuwa, especially for Japanese goods and kawaii items for your home. I went to buy a calendar book for my mother (it is an annual thing) and this year went to Plano. I shop at Mitsuwa market and walk in here everytime never paying attention to what it was. The bookstore in Hawaii closed so I looked for a Japanese bookstore close to me in Dallas. Lo and behold, I found Kinokuniya in Plano and mapper it and, to my surprise, it led me to Mitsuwa market. Felt like an idiot but went to see if they had the book. They did not but said they could order it. They asked me which one as there were 9 different types. I had no clue but said the Carrollton store had 2 last year so if they can show me what they had, I can tell them which one. She looked it up and showed me and I was able to tell her which one it was. They said they would email me when it came in so I left very happy. I made a trip to Hawaii and went back to Dallas and remembered that I had not heard from them so, on my next trip to the market, I stopped in. They told me they had emailed me a few weeks ago that it was in. I apologized for missing it and got the book. I was bewildered that I had missed the email and went back to check and I had not gotten anything so maybe they made a mistake on my email address. Not a big deal as I got the book before returning to Hawaii. The level of service is fantastic and they have books, Manga, knickknacks and everything else. I love the store! read more

My son needed some pens. The selection is huge (style, point size, color, etc.), and you are able to test what you are getting unlike packaged or mail order product. I knew the area would be crowded on a pre-Christmas weekend, but we were nearby and came just after open on a Sunday. That was about the best I could hope for since it was already busy inside of the store and in the "mall" as well as in the lot. It is made worse since everything is cramped inside and out. For me, this review is very specific to the pens, but we came here hoping that they would have a great selection and high quality product. They didn't disappoint, and we will be back. read more

Very cool little bookstore nestled inside the Mitsuwa Marketplace. Nice selection of Japanese fashion magazines. They have a variety of books in English and Japanese. Many cool Japanese collectible knickknacks. Great place to bring your kids for unique school supplies like pencils, erasers, and backpacks. read more

Such a fun store! I love Japanese stationary (the paper quality is much better than what we get in America), and they have a huge selection on one wall. I collect pens, as well, and if you have not ventured out of the Walmart selection of pens for work/school before, go look at kinokuniyas! You won't go back to crappy supplies. They also have a great selection of novels and manga. Every time I go in for one or two things I come out with more. read more

I like this bookstore because it is not as big as a Barnes and Nobles. Kind of like those bookstore/souvenir stores in US airports in size. They have a large variety of magazines and books in Japanese as well as some in English. If reading isn't your cup of tea, they have a lot of random trinkets and things you can also buy as well as some basic office supplies and other unique assortment of items. It's conveniently located right next to the food court so you can browse and shop after filling your appetite. The prices are slightly high but it's a specialty shop with a small niche. You will probably only find these stores in the US where there is a Japantown. read more

This little bookstore can be dangerous on your wallet, especially if you're a sucker for super cute things. I've very rarely walked into a Kinokuniya with the intention of purchasing something, but it almost always inevitably happens. This round I picked up the latest Murakami Haruki novel and a BAPE laptop case as well as a Neko Atsume plushie because who can ever win one from those UFO catcher games anyway? Definitely take some time to stop in when you visit Mitsuwa. The staff are friendly and also speak Japanese. You'll probably find something you didn't even know you wanted. read more

I loved the location in Carrollton so was excited to see a new Plano location! Great selection of little gift type things and pens. The Carrollton location is quite a bit bigger with more inventory, so I think I'd prefer that one, but very friendly staff and clean! :) read more
