I showed her three different pictures of me and pointed to the length in the front, telling her that I wanted it "this long." Then while looking in the mirror, I pointed to below my jawline and specifically said "I want the length in the front to touch my chin. I want to keep it long. Maybe trim off a fraction of an inch to get rid of any dead ends, but don't cut it short." She agreed and said she would keep it long. What she ended up doing was cutting off THREE INCHES from the front. Now instead of touching my chin, the length of the front only goes to my cheekbone. I look like a guy. When my husband came home he said, "Hello, sir, have you seen my wife?" Fail. It's going to take like six months for my hair to grow back. She did a great job on the back, but the front is a total, absolute disappointment. When I look in the mirror I feel really, really sad. I don't look like me, I look like a dude... and that is not my vibe.

I don't think anyone should have to pay for an absolute fail haircut. I gave him the cool picture of myself with normal hair on the right as a reference and he gave me the total fail haircut with a giant patch removed as if he was considering to do an experiment in brain surgery after the hair patch removal. I basically have to wear a hat for three months while it grows back. I'm not sure what kind of joke that is , but I'm too old for it. I'd say running with scissors is one thing but cutting hair high on PCP is a worse idea. That's fully screwed up without any kind of rebate.

This was my first actual appointment with Jade, although I had already gone in for a consultation…read morebeforehand--and that consultation alone already made a strong impression and helped me feel comfortable trusting her with my hair. During the consultation, Jade took her time in a way that immediately stood out. She didn't rush through anything or treat it like a quick overview. Instead, she really listened to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions, and carefully looked at my hair's current condition and history. What I appreciated most was how honest she was while still being kind--she didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear, she explained what would actually work best for my hair in terms of color results, maintenance, and overall health. She walked me through different possibilities and made sure I understood the reasoning behind her recommendations. By the end of that consultation, I already felt like she had a clear, personalized plan for me, which made me feel confident going into the actual appointment. When I came in for the service, Jade picked up right where we left off. She revisited everything we discussed during the consultation and made sure we were still aligned before starting. I really appreciated that she didn't assume anything--she checked in with me, confirmed the details, and made me feel involved in the process from the very beginning. Throughout the appointment, she was extremely communicative in a calm, natural way. She explained each step as she went--whether she was applying color, adjusting tones, sectioning, or cutting--and always made sure I understood what she was doing and why. It made the entire experience feel very transparent and reassuring. Instead of sitting in silence wondering what was happening, I felt included and informed the whole time. Her attention to detail was one of the most impressive parts. She didn't rush at any stage, even when it took extra time to refine things. With the haircut, she carefully shaped and rechecked sections to make sure everything flowed properly and suited my face shape. With the color, she was very intentional about tone balance and blending, making sure it looked natural, even, and well-integrated rather than patchy or overdone. Even after the main work was done, she continued making small refinements--adjusting little details that most people might not notice but that make a big difference in the final result. What made the experience feel even more special was the way Jade carries herself with genuine warmth. Even though this was my first full appointment with her, she made the environment feel very comfortable and welcoming. It never felt clinical or transactional--it felt personal in a really natural way, like she genuinely cared about how I felt during the process and how I would feel leaving. And at the end of the appointment, when everything was finished and I was fully styled, she gave me a hug. It wasn't rushed or awkward--it felt very genuine and kind, like a small but meaningful moment of connection after the service. That hug honestly made the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable. It gave a sense of warmth and care that went beyond just doing my hair well--it felt like she truly values the people she works with. Leaving the salon, I felt really happy with my hair, but also genuinely taken care of as a person. Even though this was just my first appointment, it already felt like I had found someone I could trust long-term with my hair. Jade combines technical skill, communication, attention to detail, and genuine kindness in a way that made the entire experience stand out.

My request was very straightforward: have the grown-out sections re-highlighted and brighten the rest of my hair so that the overall color was even more blonde and brighter. Unfortunately, I left the salon with brown hair. It honestly looks like she just made it go back to my natural hair color. I have never, ever left a salon with my hair darker than when I walked in, especially when I specifically asked for my hair to be brighter and more blonde. It's really frustrating spending $300 and then getting the exact opposite of what I was asking for. Especially since I will now have to spend even more in the LA area where I live to fix it.

I had my hair shaped up after a previous haircut where my stylist used thinning shears (a big mistake). Thinning shears are never good on curly hair, as they destroy the curl pattern. Rossio was my stylist, and she did a wonderful job cutting my hair, giving it a hydrating hair mask, and taking her time with my curly hair. Her technique made my curls bounce and look fantastic. Not only did she do an excellent job with the cut, but she also coached me on a hair routine to maintain my curls. She taught me about soothing cream, moisturizing gel and shampoo and conditioner technique. I was blown away by her knowledge and skill set. The salon itself is charming and located in midtown, with plenty of free parking. Count me as a customer and fan!

Would highly recommend coming to check it out if you're looking for guidance on your wavy/curly hair!

I'm happy with the cut and looking forward to the next. This barber is a bit off the radar for many, but they're so easy to access on the south end of downtown. I hope this review puts them in front of a few new faces.
