Beware the "used car" B.S. game when calling on Crown Honda internet cars.....calls are bounced around....dropped....and then salesmen use every car sales trick/technique known to man! Even trying to change my choice of model and color to fit their inventory!!! The Accord Hybrid I called on has been listed for weeks; most loikely lease return purchase for Crown to make $3-$4k over purchase price retailing. They already made their shop $1500 to certify a 6,000 mile Accord! And it has extensive unrepaired body damage on passenger side; plus it's close to being stripped down model. Hardly a "Hot Seller!" I offered $1,000 up over cost; they said no----they want "Perfect Diamond" price for a damaged zircon! Pass. Where in retail do you learn to turn down decent profit on less than stellar product that needs obvious repair? So now they spend more to keep "old" car that has languished on hot internet market! Michelle Dessert in the service department is great. Honda had the opportunity to lie to me about service work because nothing was wrong and I asked them to check my transmission. They result was that nothing was wrong. I have been a Honda leaser for over 10 years, because the service I receive has always been professional, personal, and excellent at McGrath City Honda (Chicago, IL). I recently moved to Florida, and I was a little worried I wouldn't find a Honda dealership that could provide the same service, but I was wrong. I met Tia Harr when my recent lease was in the body shop for over four months because a vital part was on critical backorder. I was at a point where I couldn't fathom continuing to rent a car because it had become financially draining. I went to Crown Honda and met Tia. She was able to get me into a vehicle and a monthly payment that exceeded my expectations. As we waited for the new lease to get ready, she arranged for someone to go to the body shop to retrieve my car plates, in order to place them onto the new lease. On top of that, she also assured me they would return the rental I was paying for back to the rental company. Everything fell into place better than I thought it would. Do not work with Justin in finance- he will not be respectful or listen. You will be stuck with an awful loan that doesn't make any sense. Why would a finance person have a co-signer from outside of your household? Because the finance person wouldn't listen and be respectful. Beware, you should probably go somewhere else. Also they will delete negative reviews on the "dealer rater" site so that is worthless. Car loans affect a whole family, not just one person on the loan. The sales rep was great however the finance manager was very pushy and persistent. Apparently he was never taught the meaning of the word NO. He also took it upon himself to slip in a service plan for a couple grand that I never agreed to purchase upon the first place. Be very careful when dealing with these snake-oil salesman. Very crooked, persistent, annoying...etc etc...left with a headache! Also to take the cake my battery died 3 weeks after purchasing this vehicle. Unreal. What a horrible example of an automotive franchise. Very unfortunate because Crown Automotive used to be a well established and well respected business, they have been in the area for a long time. I think we all are getting used to the bait and switch game when it comes to car purchasing. I called for info on a car Crown Honda listed on Car Gurus. I spoke with Chris Bach. He lied repeatedly about the car being in service and being detailed for days. I have the texts to prove it. The car was on a truck somewhere coming from an auction. They could have said that but continued to lie. Turns out the car came in with a blown engine. Then Jay Biggerstaff the GM the arrogant ass that he is said if I didn't like it I should find something else. I have never seen such utter unprofessional attitude at any business. Unfortunately I have to edit the review and add some issues that have come around since the initial deal. Following the purchase I thought everything was great, Karen checked in to see how everything was. About a week or two later I get a snippy phone call from the finance office saying they have been trying to get a hold of me, that I had the wrong information on the insurance as far as lien holder. There are two companies with nearly the exact same name and my insurance company put the wrong one in... simple fix but I was less than thrilled with them saying they had been trying to reach me and that they must have the wrong contact info, given they called me on the correct phone number. When I called back I got his voicemail, left a message then sent an email. I had to error fixed, sent the necessary documentation as well as proof of residency, which I had been told at initial purchase I didn't need. Will find out why in a second. So I'm thinking now everything is said and done. Wrong. I have yet to receive anything from the bank I was told the car was financed through about my loan. I call them and they have nothing on file. It's been nearly a month since I purchased the car, one bank doesn't have me on file, another is now sending me texts and calling me. I'm initially skeptical thinking it could be someone trying to scam me so I call the dealership and leave a message. No return call. I call the next day, again no one returns my call. I start looking through the paper work and on the title application they have a completely different lien holder than the original bank they told me the car was financed through. So I call that one, they don't have me on file. Call Crown Honda again.. no return call. I'm livid so I email American Honda corporate. Someone from there calls me but I end up playing phone tag with them for two weeks before she suggests I contact the dealership to get my concerns addressed. THEY WON'T CALL ME BACK! So finally figure out who the car is financed through, on my own, but I can guaran-damn-tee I won't be going back to Crown after this ordeal. From what I gather the financing fell through, they ran my credit 10 times, 8 the day I was in the dealership and twice more a month later without even letting me know they were doing this. Pretty goddamn shady if you ask me. -------- After my mom's car was stolen, she was in need of a new car so I did decided I'd spring for the difference from what she got back from the insurance and get her something new or nearly new. I recently went with a friend to buy a car at a Hyundai dealer in Chicago, where I live. It was a seven hour ordeal and involved a lot of arguing and yelling at the manager, so I was not thrilled about going through this process again. But I digress.. I traded some emails with Karen Rosen, who then gave me a call and went over a few used Civic's they had available but since I live in Chicago was not able to look at them right away. I finally found some time to fly down and look at what they had to offer. When Karen heard I would be flying in she offered to come get me at the airport which was great. We looked at some used Accords and Civic's but I had my eye on a new 2016 Civic coupe. A friend dropped my mom at the dealer so she was able to go on the test drive and it didn't take long to decide we'd get that one. I already had done all the math on various price points, APR's and so on so they made an offer, I countered, they countered and in the end we worked out a pretty decent deal on it. Justin Callahan worked out a good deal on financing (they beat my banks offer) and got all the paperwork done and we were out the door. Karen rehashed some of the features we had discussed, walked through Bluetooth setup and overall just went above and beyond. Thankfully the color, Energy Green, has grown on my mom although she's still figuring all the technical aspects out but seems to love it. read more

I arrived to pick up my car and explained again my wife loved Honda and we'd be getting a new car. Gee, a buying signal? But no help in getting connected with the sales staff. Zip after three tries. I was lectured that " it's hot in Florida and you need AC" Well no shit. I explained I knew that but I didn't have to keep the car, I could trade it in. Crickets. I guess he only gets a commission if I get my car worked on. But I was handed a $135 bill for diagnostics which wasn't mentioned up front. Communication throughout this experience has been disappointing to say the least. I love the Honda brand but will not be buying any more vehicles from this particular dealership. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, take your car to Crown Honda for service. I took my car in yesterday for a simple oil change, tire rotation and alignment. Probably less than 30 minutes of labor. I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment, letting them know that I was going to wait in their lounge until the work was completed. I ended up waiting almost 4 hours! Unbelievable - why have me bring the car in 3-1/2 hours before they were going to actually work on it? And if that weren't bad enough, they forgot to put the lug-nut key back into my car, so now I have to arrange for them to deliver it to my home. And I had virtually the same experience last time I brought it in for service. They just don't know how to run a service operation and have no respect for people's time. Next time I'll probably drive to the Honda dealer in Bradenton. Couldn't be any worse. read more

I am happy with the car.  However, I found out, after the purchase, that the Honda Insight 2020 Touring model has significant differences from the 2021.  Especially in regards to safety features.  When I back up, it has no collision detection.  It also does not alert me to any blind spot when driving (only the stereo display, which I find distracting).  In addition, it does not warn me of cross traffic, when backing up in a parking lot.  These are features that I had specifically asked for, during the purchase of the vehicle. After the purchase, when I called Crown, I was told that the 2020 Insight has them.  I thought perhaps my model had faulty sensors and planned on taking the vehicle in to get it inspected by the local Honda dealership.  I was told by the service department that my year does not have these features. I am not looking to bring the vehicle back, but would not have purchased the vehicle with this knowledge.  I am pretty disappointed, and would recommend that any future customers to Crown Honda, walk in the door with "buyer beware". read more

Brooks Falzone (my Service Consultant) at Crown Honda is awesome! He responds whenever I send an e-mail trying to schedule my car maintenance (even late at night or when he is at a bucks game) and he has worked hard to keep me up to date on any warranty items. I really feel that he cares about my happiness with my car & the Crown company. Plus he is there to make sure the process is easy! It's hard to believe but going to have my car worked at Crown Honda is actually an awesome experience, I can connect to the wifi- Brooks keeps me informed on what is happening with my car and I am able to get work done, drink a coffee relax in the lounge and feel content that I am being taken care of. The first time I went to Crown Honda, it was a pretty pleasant experience. But of course, a certain amount of humility is expected when I'm there to get a recalled airbag replaced. The other day I dropped my Civic off for an oil change. $40 oil change. I had always heard the old saying "Take your car to the dealer for an oil change, get quoted $1500 in damage." I have never had this experience until the other day. And the real head scratcher is this is my first non German car. If any dealership was going to take advantage of me, I would expect it to be VW or BMW, right? WRONG. My Honda is our grocery getter. Literally put less than 5,000 miles on it in the last 2 years since we inherited it from my FIL - with BRAND NEW tires and brakes all around. Get a call that ALL of my brakes and shocks are past their wear and need immediate replacing, at the cost of about $600. While I may be female, I'm not the type who could drive around with four flat tires and not know it. First of all, if my brakes were completely shot after less than 5,000 miles, that's Honda's problem. Second of all, I WOULD NOTICE. There's not even a squeak when I brake. (TBH, I can now tell the rear drums are low, but there is zero indication that there's any issue with my front brakes, or my shocks.) I was also told that my power steering fluid was leaking and needed to be completely flushed. If my power fluid were leaking, and not enough that I would see evidence of it on my driveway, it doesn't need a flush, it needs a top off. If my brake fluid was leaking, there would 100% be evidence of that on my driveway. But my favorite part was when they told me I had AXLE FLUID leaking. AXLE FLUID ISN'T EVEN A THING. I called before picking up my car to let them know I would be picking up my car, but I don't see evidence of the laundry list they gave me so I'm going to take it for a second opinion. When I got there - they were SO RUDE to me. They said "oh you're the one who left the nasty message". And I said "I simply said I was going to get a second opinion, which I have every right to do." James' response was "well I can just tell you what you need to do. If you don't do that, it will be your problem." Went on a diatribe about how long he had been with Honda and so forth. LIKE I CARE. Then, when they gave me the key they said "Do you even know where your car is?" Wow. I said "isn't it right there?" and pointed to my car just on the other side of the service lane. He took the key OUT OF MY HAND to push the panic button, then pointed it out to me. Let's just say, I was not at all surprised to read other reviews on here from women who also had very sexist encounters. The only reason I brought my car in for an oil change is because for $40, it's not worth me having to dispose of the oil myself. That's right, I'M A GIRL AND I CAN CHANGE MY OWN OIL. Further more, I have replaced a clutch in my old Cabrio. I have rotated my own tires. I have replaced headlights in a VW. I have rebuilt my shifting assembly. I grew up poor so my only option was to do it myself. I worked hard to get out of that "poor" status, just to be treated like a piece of shit on someone's shoe because I have boobs. The ironic part - my fiancé and I were going to trade in the Civic for a Pilot in the next month. WON'T BE DOING THAT NOW JAMES! We are taking our money elsewhere. UPDATE: I got above price on trading in my Civic, after the inspection proved none of the listed issues existed. The only thing wrong with it was it needed an AC charge and were all super impressed by how impeccable a 10 year old car was. I didn't get another Honda. read more

Fraudulent. They knew I was driving around the country. They told me my drive belt was so badly worn that it needed replacement immediately and that would cost over $300. I was surprised since it had been replaced 5000 miles before. I took the car to another service place and they checked the drive belt - good as new. 3000 miles later, I took the car to another service place. Drive belt is as good as new. read more

So my wife and I decided to go take a look at a vehicle, a Honda Odyssey. We pulled in hoping for a friendly salesman that would treat us with respect . We sure were surprised at the service to say the least. While we were mostly looking to see a starting point with numbers since we hadn't been to a dealer yet, this guy didn't seem to understand that and thought he would be able to bully us into a purchase. I'll list a few places he went wrong right off the bat: 1. He had the nerve to disrespect my wife right in front of me! This was the initial point were he wasn't getting a dime. 2. How are you going to say you are going to accept the discounted price because your website wasn't updated after your own internet sales department dropped the price (probably because the interior had some pretty disgusting stains in certain parts)....apparently this dealership was having to go out of its way because as a customer, I was a very big inconvenience. 3. My wife mentioned we wanted to discuss over night, and this salesman had the nerve to tell us verbatim "that we weren't responsible adults" all because he was not getting the sale that very moment. Well Mr. Darren, I'm a proud father of 4 children, I've served in the military for almost 10 years (still serving by the way), traveled the world doing stuff you could never think about at a car dealership, and have 3 vehicles that run just fine with absolutely no car payments....by the way, my wife also is a full time mother managing 4 schedules and our home while I work out of the area quite often. I'm not trying to brag, but you have the wrong knowledge of what it means to be a responsible adult. I will definitely share my experience of what happened here tonight. I brought car in to get a new fob and To fix the Window. It didn't go back up. So they did the fob no problem. The window however was a different story. They charged me to inspect the window and to give me an estimate. They said it was a master switch and it would be over $700 to Repair. I just paid for the inspection and diagnosis and was going to get car and go home. The window which was up when I arrived, was down and they "couldn't get it back up". I feel they were just trying to persuade me to do the overpriced job there. Because it was a rainy day and hot and they were sending me on my way exposed to the elements. Not cool in my book. And so I said why didn't they just manually raise the window when they were inspecting it and put it down. They said they never opened the door panel and I asked them How they knew it was just a switch if they didn't check the motor and he said the guy just knew. I Was getting angry and it didn't seem to be getting anywhere so I took the car as it was and drove through the rain the 20 minutes back home. Not thrilled at all and the idea that they didn't even check my Window properly but charged me $135 to inspect and diagnose while failing to actually inspect and diagnose. I feel ripped off but glad they didn't get to rip me off anymore. I found the part online for $35 and installed it within 10 minutes with minimal tools. How they could charge $300+ for labor should be considered theft. To top it all off the new switch didn't fix it. Took it to a real mechanic and they fixed the motor for under 200 and the switch I had works and so Does the new one. They are so easy to change out it was no trouble just switching them out to verify. Seems to me they were just trying to hustle me, using shady business techniques to try to convince me to do the job with them. I'll never be back. Thieves is what they are and not very good mechanics because they surely got it wrong with mine. They've charged me for a Job they didn't do. I call that stealing Stay away from this place. Went to Crown Honda after the AC gave out. Crown Honda is 45+ minutes from where I love. I have had iffy experiences with my local Honda and felt the drive to Crown Honda (based on yelp reviews) was worth it. I worked with Dan Mick and he was exceptional. He reassured me that my vehicle was still under warranty and expeditiously scheduled the replacement of my faulty air compressor. I could tell he was being mindful of my time and schedule despite having other clients to care for. Definitely worth the drive and highly recommend this facility. read more
