This place is a joke. Initially dealt with them via AHS for my air handler. Paid about $600 for a Freon refill and leak sealant. About a year later call them out to take a look at the air handler; paid an $80 service fee and was told that it needed to be completely replaced. It took over 6 months and 2 visit to my home for them to give me an estimate for replacement with no price breakdown. Just a vague list of charges and a total price. Told Lacey that the estimate was unacceptable and was told "we don't provide a breakdown of price because it'll make the price go up". So unprofessional and inefficient. I wouldn't hire these people at all and AHS should really stop using them. Run the other way if you are considering using these people. Was able to get a reputable competitor out the same day and they too were outdone that an estimate over 15K was given with no cost or labor breakdown. read more

Recently, the life of my 10+ year old furnace came to an abrupt end. A friend recommended that I reach out to the guys at Crown Temperature Heating and Cooling for service...I am extremely happy that I did. Beginning with the initial phone call, everyone over at Crown was pleasant, knowledgeable, prompt, and showed true professionalism through the entire process. Pricing was competitive/fair (I checked around) and all work and expenses were made known to me well in advance. No surprises. The takeaway from my experience with Crown Temperature Heating and Cooling is that the guys there exceeded my expectations. Everyone involved went above and beyond. Crown will be my go-to for any heating and cooling issues I may have in the future and who I will certainly recommend to others. read more

My wife called because our ac wasn't working. The tech came and I watched him. He first ran a new wire to the condenser stating it's probably shorted. He then tried the air and it still wasn't working. He then pulled the fuse and replaced it. He jumped wires and the blower came on. He tried to get the ac to come on by jumping wires and the fuse blew. He made two phone calls not knowing what to do. At some point after switching wires from the thermostat the furnace stopped receiving power. I was told the circuit board was fried. The next day I was told they don't make the board anymore and need a new furnace. I reached out to a coworker who came over and found that the transformer was fried. He replaced it and then checked the condenser and found a bad contacter. He replaced it and everything worked fine. The part cost $8. I would NEVER recommend these guys!!! read more

After reading the reviews it appears Jeremy is the so called sales person in this company that shows up at your door and pretends to help you and give you a good deal on Freon for $600 dollars coming down so easily in 5 seconds from $850, bashing other companies in the area to build trust with you saying " I've heard a lot of bad things about that company " , and pretends like he's helping you. Offers a $600 deal in cash ( I saw another review with the same deal ) so you can't dispute the charge on your credit card if/when something goes wrong. I have on my doorbell ring video the technician from that company saying he'll contact the warranty company and never did.. I thought it was all clear with American Home Shield and it wasn't. He's a poor excuse for a salesperson! Period! and if I have issues in 12 months I'm filing complaints with the BBB, EPA , state of Illinois and whoever else I can complain to. Beware of this company! He asked me to sign a blank form and actually said I'll fill it out later which is illegal in a lot of regulated industries. Jeremy, you walked in on a sales manager that saw right through your sales tactics but was desperate because this area is expecting 90's temperatures for a week straight. I would've never agreed to anything if I wasn't facing hot temperatures for a week. Everything was so rushed on his end as if he thought he was taking advantage of me.. I knew exactly what you were doing and paying that amount for Freon wasn't like signing up for a car at 22 percent interest rate or a predatory loan or something. I WILL HAVE MY UNIT TESTED IN EXACTLY 12 MONTHS BY ANOTHER COMPANY SO I CAN SEE IF THE WORK WAS DONE CORRECTLY AND TO CHECK IF ITS STILL LEAKING AFTER THER CLAIMED ITS FIXED. read more

This review will be a bit mixed because I was introduced to Crown through American Home Shield (AHS), but as a whole I would have to say I'm pretty disappointed over the entire experience. I originally called AHS for a deafening sound coming from the ductwork work within my home. This noise had me sleeping with ear plugs on. Crown came out and assessed the situation and told me that I had a damaged flue pipe and AHS would not cover the damage. They said it was a pretty expensive replacement to the tune of $2400. After 3 sleep deprived nights I greenlighted the work and they came out the following day for the work. The work took a few hours, and everything appeared to be ok. I then noticed they turned off my hot water tank without re-igniting, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker, but just attention to detail. I then notice slight banging that happens while the heat is on, I tried calling the technician and but got a text stating that he would call back, it's been four months and I have never gotten a call back and just have learned to live with it. I contacted State Farm in order to try and recoup some of the $2400 through my homeowners' insurance, but State Farm indicates that Crown has never returned a call in over 4 months, which in my mind means they can't justify the $2400. So although I traded a loud banging noise to a quieter one and such lack of communication, I would recommend using another company for your HVAC needs read more

I usually don't feel compelled to write bad reviews but I actually can't continue my day until I get this out there. I became a customer of Crown Temperature Heating & Cooling through American Home Shield. I recently had a flood and I called AHS to replace my sump pump (that's a totally different story and I wouldn't recommend AHS either). The sump pump was FINALLY replaced correctly, and I now the hot water heater needed to be relit and the furnace also needed to be lit to my knowledge. I called a family member to the house to do those things for me. The furnace however was still not working correctly. It seemed to have a blower issue. I then put in another claim with AHS to have someone come out to look at my furnace. The company they sent was Crown Temperature Heating & Cooling LLC. I believe the guy who came out was named Jeremy Truett ( I have a card aslo mentioning Craig Cambron). When Jeremy arrived immediately my dog didn't like him and started growling and barking at him, she's a very friendly dog (context clues), I greeted him and led him to the basement and explained to him what was going on. I also mentioned to him that I recently had a flood. He asked me to go turn on the thermostat so I went upstairs and did that. I waited a few minutes just to give him time to assess the situation then went back into the basement to find out if he found out what the issue was. He told me that about 4 inches of water got into my blower and that I will need a new furnace. He told me that when I turned the furnace on the water got in there and shut it down (or something like that, but you get the picture). He said " now here's the thing AHS isn't going to pay for a new furnace if I tell them it's water damage, I am going to do my best not to tell them that but if they ask for pictures then there is nothing I can do about it. But here is my card, I can put a furnace in for about the same amount they would charge your for a deductible, $2000." At that moment I was speechless because I didn't know what to think. I just told him ok and thank you. Then he started asking me personal questions as if he was trying to assess my whole life situation. Asking me if I'm a single mother, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I want to say about 5 mins later I received an email from AHS saying that there has been a problem with my claim and to give them a call. I called them and they told me that I need a new furnace because the heat exchanger was cracked and it wasn't covered by them because of water damage. I immediately laughed because at that moment I knew that Jeremy went straight to AHS and TOLD them that it was water damage. My brother just so happened to stop by and I told him everything that was going on and that I needed a second opinion. I told him that I didn't trust that dude. He recommened me to someone else who came out the next day. I recently had some work done in the basement to where they were grinding my floors. The HVAC company that came out the next day (Mountain Top Heating, Air, & Appliance Repair 708-262-9740 Norman) told me that it was just extremely dusty in there and he just had to give the blower a boost and clean it out. I now have heat in my home. My home is nice and toasty and I didn't have to spend thousands of dollars for a new furnace. I just want people to know that you cannot trust this company to do honest work. They will try to rip you completely off. I paid a total of $250 and if I wasn't on my p's & q's then I could have been paying over $3000 for a new furnace because I still wasn't going with Crown Temperature Heating & Cooling because I felt it in my spirit that man was Shady af. I have AHS and had Jeremy and Eddie here, who were great! Our old AC unit was replaced the very NEXT DAY with absolutely no hassle. The reviews scared me at first but that was NOT the case at all. Highly recommended with or without a home warranty. read more

Only giving one star because I have to. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Nice folks, awful communication from the owner and the office. It took me 4 days of calling them to set up an apt for them to instal an A/C unit that I was paying for! Add in 3 more return trips after installation because it wasn't working and they still didn't find the issue due to not even looking for it. Asked the owner several times to come himself since this was the 3rd visit, only to be ignored. Had to call another company to actually come find and fix the issue. Lesson learned for sure. You def get what you pay for here. Spend a little more and go elsewhere read more

Sent by AHS to fix ac. Took 50 pictures and kept us waiting for more than 10 says saying waiting for authorization. Called AHS said was not true. They just couldn't do the job. Finally transferred the job to a different contractor. Could have declined the job right away instead of keeping us without AC for 2 additional weeks for no reason. read more

Last week our heater stopped working. My grandmother reached out to her insurance company and they sent over Jeremy. Jeremy claimed that the heater needs to be discarded its dangerous because of the carbon monoxide and etc. He claimed, it would cost about 2,000 to fix it. Few days later 2 young men came to our house without any consent or call to remove the furnace. The insurance company or Jeremy didn't even ask if they could remove it which gave us huge suspicions. We sent the boys home. We asked and wanted a second opinion from someone else but the insurance company demanded that we use him only. So we ended up asking someone else to look at it, turns out we only had to change out one piece in the furnace (that was only $40), and pay him $60 to do it. He said Jeremy lied and didn't even look behind the heater. Now our heater works so great. We want to warn everyone about doing business with them and the home warranty company. They are scheming people out of their money. Ask for invoices, pictures, and licenses. Always get a 2nd opinion. read more

I had a service call with this company and the experience was not a good one. I had a sign on my front door that clearly states to sanitize your hands prior to entering the home, and I was told by Jeremy, "we sanitize our hands prior to entering our customer's home. Both men's hands were dirty, clothes were dirty, they smelled awful, and had no shoe covering on their shoes. I explained the problem I was having with my furnace and Jeremy proceeded to ignore what I was saying and told me he did not see a problem with my furnace. Therefore since he did not see the problem, according to him, there was no problem to fix. He proceeds to tell me, my furnace is old and I should replace it. Jeremy arrived on time, was in my home for 10min, and his advice cost me $125. THIS WAS A VERY POOR SERVICE CALL AND I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY. I do not usually write reviews on Yelp but I think this bears consideration. We have a policy through American Home Shield home warranty service and we have now tried twice to set up a maintenance call last spring and this fall to service air conditioner and furnace service through AHS. This spring our first appointment window was 2 hours with a no show. We rescheduled and our second appointment was cancelled 15 minutes before the end of the service window by technician due to stormy weather at his current location. It never rained or stormed near my house. We set up another appointment with AHS online last week and we were again assigned Crown with a 12 HOUR window for service on Saturday the 19th. I emailed Crown back and sent a follow up text for the AHS service call telling both that 12 hr service call window was ridiculous. I work for a living and can't spend 12 hours waiting for a call, please cancel the service call. Technician showed up anyway....no one home (at work as noted above). Crown sent another text telling me they will send a technician yesterday between 10 and 12 pm. Had a friend sit at my house waiting for service technician. Got a call 11:57 am on my cell saying he was 15 minutes away. My friend left at 12 pm because again, we all have jobs. Called Crown today to discuss no show and rescheduling. Technician told me the service technician arrived at my house at 11: 49 and no one was home. Explained the phone call and time stamp, time my friend left the house. He referred me to his supervisor and I declined. If you are bored and have a lot of free time on your hands these are your guys. If not, you may want to consider another provider. read more
