About a year later call them out to take a look at the air handler; paid an $80 service fee and was told that it needed to be completely replaced. It took over 6 months and 2 visit to my home for them to give me an estimate for replacement with no price breakdown. Just a vague list of charges and a total price. Told Lacey that the estimate was unacceptable and was told "we don't provide a breakdown of price because it'll make the price go up". So unprofessional and inefficient. I wouldn't hire these people at all and AHS should really stop using them. Run the other way if you are considering using these people. Was able to get a reputable competitor out the same day and they too were outdone that an estimate over 15K was given with no cost or labor breakdown.

I received estimates for as much as $13,000 being told I also needed a new return and air conditioner. V and L is a family owned business. When they came out they suggested the best way to go was a new furnace and humidifier but that nothing else was needed. They arrived early for both appointments. They took the time to explain my options and choices - not trying to up-sell. They were able to do the installation first thing the next morning rather than me having to wait until I could "get an appointment". By noon the next day I had a new, safe furnace and a working humidifier. They explained everythIng thoroughly and answered all of my questions. They even told me the most economical filters to use! They cleaned up everything and took the old furnace and humidifier away so I did not have to keep it in my garage and lug it to the curb on trash day. For example, having the air conditioning and heat going on at the same time would eventually cause risk of wear and tear the heating & air condition, causing us to have a new unit installed, being professionals that should have never happened. Also, when taking out the old furnace, you used no covering and left pieces of stuff everywhere that they didn't clean up and a mark on my wall that will not come out. Perhaps if the worker concentrated and spent more time on the job rather than being unprofessional, installing the furnace job would have been done correctly in the first place. Approximately we have spent roughly $11,600.00. It's unnecessary getting the service done from this company in the future. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

Daniel the service technician opened the unit up and tested everything. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He discovered a bare wire that had been chewed (possibly by a mouse) and was touching the metal housing which tripped the circuit breaker. Daniel replaced the wire and the unit is working perfectly. The honesty and integrity of this company is refreshing. We will not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to all our friends.

I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!
