Our air conditioner went out during a heat wave in the beginning of the summer. We called who we usually go with and it was going to be a week wait. For sure the big name place would've have made us get a new unit but they told us what we had and what to expect. I called AirMaxx to get a humidifier installed on my HVAC system. He gave me a quote over the phone and spent a lot of time going over the different types of systems, what's involved and what was needed to achieve what I was looking for. He then came to the house to look at the current HVAC system to make sure we put the right humidifier on. He then came out with one of his guys 2 days later to put in the humidifier. Owner was very rude. We have a son who is immunocompromised and we asked him to wear a mask in our home (our family was masked) and he refused. We even offered him one of our new masks since he didn't have one. I find it hilarious that he had it posted that his staff wears masks. Our project that will cost 5 figures will go to another company. All because he doesn't care about an immunocompromised child. What a vile human. read more

Jamie did a fantastic job working on our furnace challenge. He found the solution why the fire kept turning off too early, during the heat cycle. With his electronic technology, it was discovered that our furnace and parts were running perfectly. However the flu pipe had some blockage. He suggested the birds most likely built a nest at the very top 10 feet of our flu pipe. Sure enough ...the nest was removed. And the unit runs perfectly. I will start by saying this is not going to be a typical review. I called Airmaxx because the humidity in my house is so low, I thought my humidifier was broken. Instead of charging me hundreds of dollars to come out and investigate, and replace.....Airmaxx asked me several questions over the phone and determined that nothing was wrong and it was working. Very honest and thorough company. I highly recommend them for any heating or air conditioning service you need. After a few days of intermittent problems with my furnace, I called a friend of a friend who has a heating business in Morris. He came out that night which I appreciated, but assumed it was the thermostat. He replaced my programmable thermostat with a non-programmable thermostat which was smaller and exposed the opening in the drywall. It looked terrible! Well, the next morning I woke up and it was 60 degrees in the house. It wasn't the thermostat!! I called AIRMAXX after hours and Jamie answered and basically diagnosed the problem over the phone. He said he'd be out first thing in the morning before his first appointment. He arrived right on time and he and his very nice apprentice began testing MY furnace AND the heat ducts. Sure enough, it was what he suspected, and said he'd be back to fix it in the afternoon. He just so happened to have the same furnace at his business and thought he may be able to use parts from that furnace to save me money. Later that day he was back and was able to use a part which did save me money. Now, I call that an HONEST company! He showed me the crack on the old part he removed from my furnace. What a guy!! He told me how to put my programmable thermostat back on myself. I did, and tried to contact the boob in Morris to get my money back for the part. It had been used just one day and I had all of the packaging. No response. So I have a new, non-programmable thermostat that I don't need and paid $65 for. So our air conditioner was not keeping up with the hot temperatures of 95-108. My husband and I went outside and pulled off our air conditioner and we discovered cottonwood and debris so thick it looked like something you would take out of your dryer! I called Air Maxx on Saturday morning and spoke with Jamie. He assured me the the unit probably just needed a good cleaning (which it never had ever) after asking me several questions. Jamie came out at 1pm on Saturday and gave our unit the deep cleaning it desperately needed. The unit is running well and keeping our home cool during these unusually hot days. Called AirMaxx at 8:00 a.m. because the air conditioning in my rental unit was not working. He said he was heading to a job but would stop by on his way. When Jamie arrived 10 minutes later, I explained to him what was happening and what I had done to try to resolve the issue and he said, "I know what the problem is." He opened up the unit, walked over to his very cool van, got a replacement part, replaced the part, cleaned the unit and by 9:00 a.m. I had cold air moving and was on my way to work. When I was quoted for the service of dryer vent cleaning, I was told the shady estimate of $150 - $175 depending on how much work it was. But, I was assured the price included replacing all of the venting lines the entire route to exterior. It was impossible to replace entire line, but men did best to clean line regardless. Issue is price. I was charged on the high end of estimate -- $175 and then I gave a yellow page coupon for $35. They said that was already factored into price. However, the quote was $150 to $175 and since I was less work and coupon, I should have been $150 - $35 coupon. Shady operation, beware. read more

This is a great company who is very honest and will not try to sell you a new furnace if you only need to replace a bad part! I had to call this New Year's Day when my furnace stopped working after my little babies were in bed. I was in a panic, it was only negative 21 degrees outside, and my house without heat had already started to drop 10 degrees in the first hour! It was 8:30 at night and I figured we would have to wake up the children and start to head to a hotel for the night when I found AirMaxx on Google. I called and got an immediate response. He walked me through trouble shooting the furnace over the phone with video chat. It was our motor and it had stopped working. It was bad news. It didn't seem possible we would be able to stay in our house that night but he asked me to read him the barcode because he had a used motor back at his shop. Our motor's barcode matched the used one he had at his shop! Within an hour he had installed the used motor and our furnace was completely fixed! He came out on a holiday in freezing temperatures to fix our furnace so my babies could stay in their beds all night long! No other company would have done this! They would have told me it was a bad motor and they would have sold me a new furnace and I would have bought it because I didn't know any better! Instead this owner saved me lots of $$$$! I recently had issues with my furnaces. I tried to fire them up in anticipation of the upcoming winter. Well, one fired up but the other flashed a series of lights. I checked the owner's manual and found that it indicated a bad pressure switch or blockage in the lines. I pulled the outside covers and found that wasps and spiders had taken up residency in the intake and exhaust pipes. I called AirMaxx and they were quick to respond. They changed the switch and did a comprehensive job of cleaning all of the webs and nests out of the lines. They even found webbing in the burner boxes of the furnances. It was a good thing that Jamie wasn't afraid of spiders as a few climbed out during the cleaning process. They were very attentive to detail and made sure the job was done right the first time.
