They explained that they were given wrong measurements for the elevator (not true) and that their delivery team never said anything about it not fitting in the hallways. (also not true) It was a combative insincere apology. I never hinted it was a "scam" but much more likely their incompetence that cost us $400. He then went on to say that I was at fault for spending the $400 and that I could have just returned the sectional. Why would I return something that we really liked and wanted and that ACTUALLY FIT? Yes it's about the $400 that we never needed to spend that we did because we we're lied to by one of the representatives of your company. It's the principal. The insincere apology was insulting. ****ORIGINAL MESSAGE**** We used John-William Interiors about 2 years ago to purchase a Bracci Living Sectional that we fell in love with at the store for our new condo at the Spring Condominium in downtown Austin. The delivery of our sectional took about a month or so, which we were totally fine with as we understood that furniture takes time for shipping and delivery especially with higher end products. When it came time for delivery, the delivery guys were very quick to tell us that a portion of the sectional wouldn't make it through the hallway and they even pulled out their measuring tape to try and prove it. As we aren't movers, we took their word for it and only half of the sectional was delivered. We ended up having to hire a Specialty Delivery company which we paid over $400 to have them lift it with a pully system over a wall from the pool deck/parking garage on the level below to avoid using the hallways. We finally had our full sectional and we're ecstatic at how amazing it was. Comfortable, fine Italian leather, fit the space perfectly, what more could we ask for. Here is where the problem was; Fast forward to last week. We were now moving out of the building as we sold our condo. We hired a great local moving company who had 2 guys, I'd say they were in their early 20's. They took the sectional, right through the hallways, the same ones that John-William Interiors said they couldn't deliver it through, and right into the elevator and right through the lobby hallway and right into their truck. No problem whatsoever. I mean, it literally took them less than 5 minutes to get it out of our unit, through the hallways, into the elevator, through the lobby hallway and right into the truck. We were not only lied to by John-William Interiors, we were out $400 for no reason at all. They never made the attempt to fully deliver the sectional, I asked them to try and they said it wouldn't fit so they weren't going to try and they even made me go to the warehouse to pick it up since they said they couldn't leave it with me. We paid well over $7,000 for this sectional with delivery and they didn't credit us a thing. They lied to us and made us pay another company knowing exactly what we were paying the Specialty company to do by hauling it over a wall from a level below our patio. What a disgusting, unethical company to do something like this. Maybe they ordered a sectional larger than we wanted? Maybe they ordered the wrong sectional and were too worried to be honest with us? Who knows? But to have your IN-HOUSE DELIVERY TEAM tell us it wouldn't fit and then knowingly let us hire a specialty mover to deliver it over a wall and have us WASTE $400 for no reason, is inexcusable. Stay as far away from these unethical people. How horrible of a business owner do you have to be to allow for this to go on. Looking back at it, it was pretty obvious that they knew it would fit since when I went back to return their moving blankets, (because we are good people even though they said it was unnecessary to bring them back) the sales person we dealt with said something along the lines of "You really had to get that in there." and I commented to my wife right afterwards that he almost sounded upset when he said it. I will be posting this review everywhere I can and I promise to tell this story to everyone that I know. Again, stay very very far away from this place. They lie and cost us money for whatever reasons they had instead of doing the right thing and making the delivery. I guess they thought that we would be there long enough and move it out the same way we brought it in. 2 young men used almost no effort to get it out after you wouldn't even allow your crew to try even with us pleading for you to do so. Disgusting! P.S. - We have the movers who moved it out if anyone from John-William Interiors doesn't believe the story and they will confirm that it went out with no issues whatsoever. If you want to do the right thing, reimburse us. Otherwise, you will be known as unethical forever.

I had the best experience last week at Heather Scott Home. My mom and I popped in to their new…read morelocation across from the Domain. It's much more spacious than their old Arboretum store and they had such wonderful new home items. We are redoing a midcentury ranch home near the lake and have been unable to find a suitable piece of furniture for the TV to go on in the bedroom. My mom walked in and instantly found the piece she had in her mind all this time. We also found some really nice silk palms and a leather ottoman to finish out the room. As it turns out, the piece of furniture was too big to fit in a Suburban so we had to grab a U-Haul. It was near closing time, but Scott (the Scott in Heather Scott Home) told us he would gladly wait for us to return and help load it. We were really concerned about getting such a large piece of furniture out of the trailer once we got to the lake but the way Scott secured it and positioned it we were able to get it on a furniture dolly and inside in the blink of an eye. Everything we bought was perfect! It totally modernized the space while keeping within the mid century ranch vibe. The girls at the store also offered vendor information for the company who stained their concrete and called me a few days later with information on a Benjamin Moore paint color that I was interested in. I could not believe how helpful Scott and the salesgirls were. This was a great customer service experience and we are super happy with all of our purchases. I will definitely be back the next time I need something for my home.

Since this is a second home for my family I was quite nervous about doing the project from afar. Their team not only got my style immediately they worked their magic within my budget. Design was not the only thing they did well, they were there every step of the way including being on site every day to accept deliveries and set up. When we walked in the first time it was immediately home. Many think using a designer is only for the rich with big budgets. In the end a great design team can keep you from making costly mistakes and can bring cohesiveness to your space.

Off I went to the Nike store in search of new pair of tennis shoes. I walked into the store with the confidence of a woman who new exactly what she wanted in an absolutely uncertain way. I told the sales representative I needed tennis shoes that said, "I'm an athlete but also person who cry at romantic comedies." He handed me a pair that looked like they could be perfect until I saw the price tag. Who pays over $100 for tennis shoes...not me! Did $50 tennis shoes go out with the dark ages? Have I been living under a rock? Remember discounts and sales are my shopping love language. Trying them on was a feat. Size 9, please. Well, no 9's in that style, but here's a 8 for sizing. What exactly does that mean? I have worn a size 9 tennis shoes for about 15 years. First, I had to wrestle my foot in like I was stuffing an air mattress back into its original packaging. I stumbled up and felt like my feet was pulsating the song "We will rock you" by Queen. To test drive these shoes, I did a test jog down the aisle and back, narrowly avoiding a stack of shoeboxes and a child throwing tiny cars like little projectile missiles. The service was very good in the store. I cannot make a quick decision regarding expensive tennis shoes. So, I decided to wait for the Black Friday Sale in November or perhaps an earlier sale.

I received an email notice of my refund without further communication. It's tough to do the right thing but companies which thrive serve their customers better. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

To my surprise the Blundstone Original Chelsea # 510 in size 3 (AU/UK) = 36 EU fit just right. I wore my new boots to Vancouver, and they were comfortable right out of the box, no need to break them in. With tons of stain choices, I was able to get the exact look I wanted and can't wait to get everything set up on it. Also I was able to select the exact trims and finishing to really make this piece one of a kind. Obviously, you pay a bit more for a custom piece vs. heading to your local big box store, but it is worth every penny as I know this piece will last me a lifetime. It is SOLID wood - unlike the pressboard you might find elsewhere. The hardware used to put it together is also of the highest quality giving me confidence that if I need to move, it can easily be disassembled and put back together. It is extremely well-built and sturdy so I have no doubts that it will support my sewing habit.
