Unfortunately, the job was much bigger than they expected, and they ended up bailing--leaving us with a huge mess. We reached out to Rodriguez Tree Care and Landscaping to take over and do it right, and they were onsite early the very next day! Efren, Carlos, and team tackled the entire project in one long, productive day. They completely cleared the area of weeds, removed the old deteriorating weed fabric, relocated a large amount of river rock, raked out yards of grey gravel, installed new DeWitt P5 Pro weed fabric (which I provided), secured the bender board edging with new spikes, and then moved all the rock and gravel back into place. Everything looks amazing now, and we're thrilled at the idea of not having to pull weeds anytime soon (fingers crossed--maybe never again!). The pricing was very fair, and we're already planning to have Efren and Carlos quote us for a few more yard projects. His workers were all very hardworking and knew what they were doing. Victor came to see what I wanted done, made suggestions and took measurements. He then gave me a quote. After we agreed to move forward, we met at a huge nursery where I saw all the options available, and with helpful advice from Victor, made the purchases. A few days later Victor and his crew appeared with all the plants and planted them. (They had already prepared the ground for planting.). They also installed a stone walkway based on photos I found on line and installed a bed of rocks and stones. A drip irrigation system on a timer was also installed. Victor is very responsive and returns calls or texts within 24 hours, often immediately, and to my surprise he even responds late in the evening. Paper work is not his strong point, so if you want things in writing you may need to create your on contact which I did based on an on line search, and Victor was very understanding and cooperative in signing the contract. I found Pura Fe Landscaping to be a very professional, hardworking, honest and friendly business and highly recommend them.

They are only 2 feet deep; no draining out to any where The pavement is higher than the original one so it slopes down to my front door. In a raining season, the water floods my front yard. It's been 3 months since Jerod completed our long 6-month backyard renovation. It's taken me awhile…read moreto appreciate all the small features outside of the obvious ones: a beautifully BASALITE decking around the swimming pool, hot tub, bbq area, and new pergola, a new retaining wall that also serves as extra seating, a step-up to our fire pit that seats at least five chairs easily in a private circle, away from the bigger pool area, that matches the decking, a French drain and a pondless waterfall where I often find my "workaholic" husband sitting with his cup of coffee in the morning. Several weeks ago, I looked out our tiny bathroom window and admired the long stretch of beautifully-stamped concrete that I had forgotten Jerod had suggested. Everyday I see the hummingbirds enjoying all the beautiful butterfly, bee and bird attracting flowers. We are not the only ones enjoying our new backyard. Since Jerod (JB's Landscaping) finished, we've hosted my husband's wrestling reunion, our daughter's baby shower, a family gathering, and a hockey Meet-and-Greet in our used-to-be small, 50-year old home. I can't wait to plant in my over-sized raised garden bed tucked away for quiet mornings. I love all the subtle lighting that "Jerod" suggested. This is what I miss the most: Jerod's enthusiasm, his 80's music, his creativity and his 25-plus years of experience. His problem-solving. His quiet demeanor. His self-sufficiency. His neatness and organization. His resourcefulness (he found 2 Japanese maple trees that someone had thrown out on the street and today they're thriving in our backyard).
