Stopped by after a day of sledding. Wanted somewhere that we could sit and eat, even if it was outdoors. Reviews on Yelp looked good, so why not? Service was friendly and the staff was welcoming in offer suggestions and opinions. Some of our party had burgers, while other had fried fish/shrimp. I opted for something a little less "fast foodish" and chose the meatloaf. Everyone seemed happy with their food. The fish was well seasoned...instead of a filet, the fish was cut into pieces. The tartar sauce was a bit more mayo than anything else...didnt too much care for it, but since the fish was well seasoned I was fine eating it just the way it came. The meatloaf was not the greatest, but it was a hearty meal for sure as it also come with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, soup or salad, a mini loaf of bread and last but not least...ICE CREAM! Stopped in at this little diner (in older house) on way to camping at Alder Lake. It was ON Labor Day at 1:00 so we were happy to see it open and actually quite busy. Only couple tables available, thankfully seated right away. Very casual but fine, waitresses friendly while rushing around. Menu has plenty of options and serves breakfast (ends at 11:00), lunch & dinner. Appreciated the variety of side choices that come with burgers/sandwiches without an up charge. Hubby ordered a classic turkey club w/ fries (they serve crinkle cut) and I had the turkey/cranberry/cream cheese sandwich on fresh croissant w/tots. Forgot to mention we started with sodas and an order of onion rings which came out in a shocking 5 mins. Large basket of crispy sweet goodness. Our entrees came out under 10mins after that. For being so busy it was impressive! The kitchen staff is definitely on top of their game as well. Both our sandwiches were tasty. I would have liked more cranberry and cr. cheese as it was really a thin layer getting lost between the turkey and lettuce. Hubby had no issues and although crinkle cut not his favorite as long as their hot/crispy he's happy. Tots were nice and crispy as well. Servings are really good, fairly priced. They were nice in not charging for ranch and tarter sauces and brought plenty. Definitely will be back and recommend. This place was great on so many levels and went to your with a group of people after hiking for a much-needed burger. I ordered the mushroom burger which came with onions and swiss and was down immediately for a chocolate malt when I saw those on the menu. I would give Cruiser five stars in a heartbeat except something was just off with the malt. I don't know if it was the brand of ice cream they used or the malt or what? But I didn't even finish it because it just tasted strange. There's a place here in Des Moines that makes malts and they get their ice cream from a small place in Oregon and they are the absolute bomb. If you would like to know, don't hesitate to reach out and I'll do some research. On that note, would go back again. Five years after our first visit!!!!! It was so great to be back indoors enjoying great food, awesome service and some amazing milkshakes. I had the intention of going to Longmire. Then, I think I would need a National park pass, which I forgot at home, to get into the Longmire area because it's probably in the area of Mt Rainier National Park? Anyway, I decided to turn around and went to Eatonville instead to grab lunch with my husband and toddler daughter. My husband looked up this joint and decided we should go there because it looked decent. Currently, there's no indoor seating due to covid-19. Outdoor seating and take out are permitted. I got in line and ordered my meat loaf and chicken noodle soup for lunch. The meal included ice-cream for dessert. How neat! My husband ordered Quarterback burger and French fries. The staff are very courteous and attentive to the customers when needed. We had nothing to complain about. We were full and headed out to drive back home. read more

We ordered the cheese curds, King Axle Philly Sandwich with onion rings, a Rainer Beer, and Chateau St. Michele Cabernet Sauvignon. The food and drinks were wonderful. We ordered: - Mozzarella Sticks - Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries - a cheeseburger with egg and bacon and fries - sides of ranch and honey mustard The Mozzarella sticks came out so fast and they were sooo good! We were starving after a long hike! The burgers came out shortly after and were also delicious. The waitress was very attentive! It was cold outside or I would have ordered a shake/ice cream. Cruiser Cafe is an Eatonville favorite! Their breakfast is great & I usually prefer to eat breakfast at home, so that is saying a lot! They have fresh baked goods, they make some of the best milkshakes around and offer a lot of flavors. They have seasonal flavors, like your fave coffee shops. Lunch is good. Tortellini Tomato soup is delicious. Locals love their Fish and Chips, and for good reason, it is that good. Other locals love their french dips. The kids menu is good, my littles love their tots and their Alfredo! The staff is incredible! They do not get enough praise. They are often very busy because they are consistent and popular. They work through high heat, they work short staffed, they sometimes work without adequate time off. What they are is committed to their customers and their community! I'm glad we stopped. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is a cool little place. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I had a salad and a patty melt -- it was so good. And the potato salad that came with it was delicious -- 100% homemade. Stopped by here after a day of hiking. We hiked in snow and were just craving a grilled cheese and soup. This place delivers. Everything is executed so well. After looking around the neighboring area for investment properties and having a mediocre Chinese food experience the highlight of the day was Cruiser Cafe in Eatonville! What a menu and cute place. Unfortunately due to Covid we weren't able to sit inside but we did order some tasty treats (Ice Cream). Everyone was pleased with the service and flavors from Cruiser! We had 3 comes (Raspberry, Huckleberry and Birthday cake) and a hot fudge sundae. Everyone devoured their tests and commented on how great their individual treat was. If in the area you need to try out this place. I'd be willing to make the 1.5 hour drive to try their Monte Cristo sometime when the inside is open for seating. read more

My friends and I stopped for breakfast on the way from hiking at Mt Rainier. The coffee was strong and hot; the hot cocoa was weak for my taste, but warmed up my hands on a cold morning. Service was quick and attentive. My husband enjoyed the Cruiser Country Benedict, and my waffles were light and fluffy. Eggs were made as ordered. Stopped by Cruiser Cafe on our way home from hiking Little Mashel Falls and we were presently surprised. The food is cheap, portions are large, and our server was amazing. Very kind. The cheesesteak was yummy. Had lots of peppers, mushrooms, and onions which I appreciated. Fries were decent but got a little soggy when they started to cool down. The cobb wrap had lots of toppings and the tots were super crispy. I will say, the chicken bacon ranch wrap had so much melted cheese it was dripping grease. It still tasted good though. Finally, they had a ton of milkshake flavors. We tried the classic chocolate and it was good too! YAS here is a place worth driving 2 hours to get to. I loved it here. The service was amazing. All the staff was friendly and attentive. But the food, the food was amazing. I got the code blue burger and it was perfect. Juicy, flavorful and mouth watering. I could not get over how enjoyable the burger was. I ended the meal with a small butterscotch malt and just WOW. This place is the real deal. Twice this past week I hiked at Mount Rainier, and both times I stopped at Cruiser Cafe afterwards. And both times I had the Cobb salad and a chocolate milkshake (hey, they were well earned). Their Bleu cheese is made in house. It is so good that I could eat it without the salad. And the chocolate shake? Drool! The place is a bit of a dive, but the view of Mount Rainer from the front porch is nice, and service is top notch. Wow! I was in the mood for a cheeseburger and was in Eatonville and someone in the Drugstore told me to go to Cruiser's. I was not disappointed. They have a huge and varied burger menu and mine was really great. I also got onion rings, and I'm telling you, these are homemade. I haven't had onion rings that good and crunchy since I was a kid at the corner burger joint near my high school SCORES of years ago! And there were so many that I got to take the rest home for a snack later. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. It's the kind of place the locals go in because it's good food, clean, and has friendly service. Bonus is that the prices are no bad at all.
