When entering, the shop is straight past the stairs and then the second right turn. Their menu has a variety of coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, protein shakes, hot chocolate, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, ice cream, and more! The inside is beautifully designed and leans into the greenhouse aesthetic; it's whimsical and a true escape. I ended up ordering the Sweet Cardamom Latte along with the Blueberry Rosewater Scone. The scone may have been the best I've had! It was fresh and you could taste the rosewater and blueberries balance each other out. The Sweet Cardamom Latte had subtle flavor but they make their syrups in house as well as source local honey to flavor drinks. My husband got the Chai Tea Latte which had a subtle, sweet flavor. He also tried the ham, smoked gouda, and egg sandwich. They offered a chipotle mayo sauce to go with this which I highly recommend. This was a bit of a splurge but was so worth it!

Like the rest of the American Club, it's a gem. We stopped in a couple of times and had the chance to try a variety of items. Food: They have an excellent assortment of beverages and pastries. Over our two visits, we tried a coffee latte, gourmet hot chocolate, London Fog Tea Latte, and a coffee. The baristas do a very nice job with the hot beverages. You can watch them being made, and it's clear they pay attention to the small details. A great example was the whipped cream on the hot chocolate, piled high in the center of the cup without touching or spilling over the sides. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. On our first visit, we ordered a Blueberry Rosewater scone that looked amazing in the case. It was nicely baked, topped with turbinado sugar, and had plenty of blueberries. The texture, however, was more muffin-like than scone-like. There was also a noticeable baking soda taste, which we both picked up on. I later mentioned this to the manager, who was apologetic. On our second visit, we shared an Espresso Hazelnut Cruffin. This is essentially a croissant baked in a muffin tin and filled with flavored cream. That one was outstanding. The dough was flaky yet moist, and the filling was generous and fresh. We cut it open, spread the filling across the pieces, and ate it almost like buttered bread. Truly delicious. Service: All of the staff were friendly and pleasant. Even when they were busy, it never felt rushed. They didn't initially ask if we wanted our beverages in mugs, but they were happy to accommodate when we asked. They also offered to heat up the scone, which was appreciated. Atmosphere: It's a small space with about a dozen small tables, best suited for groups of two, though there are a couple of tables that can seat four. The stained glass windows are lovely, letting in plenty of natural light and providing a beautiful view of the courtyard. It can get a little loud inside, but we were still able to have a relaxed conversation. A charming spot that fits perfectly into the American Club experience.

I've had Kohler Chocolates before and have always been impressed. Since we were staying at the American Club for the weekend, stopping by the chocolate shop was a must. As part of the stay, you receive a small box of Terrapins as a welcome gift and then a couple of square truffles with the nightly turn-down service, which only made us more excited to visit the store. We went on a Sunday morning while they were just putting out their selections in the display case. It isn't a huge assortment, but everything they offer is beautifully crafted and clearly made with care. I was especially surprised and impressed when we asked if it was possible to sample something and they offered us an entire truffle rather than just a small piece. That was incredibly generous. You can purchase pre-boxed assortments, but if you want a custom selection, you can choose any combination you like and they will box it up for you. They offer gift boxes for four or nine pieces, which are perfect sizes for sharing or giving as gifts. We will definitely enjoy these chocolates ourselves and share them with some of our favorite people.

It's actually located in the back of a bar called Four of a Kind. I ordered the Traditional UP Pasty. It was pretty darn good. Crust was light and flakey while the middle was dense and tasty. Just the way I like them. Gravy is an extra buck, but well worth it. I ordered my pasty in the back of the restaurant (behind the pool tables!) through a little window into the kitchen. This area has limited choices for beverages so I went to the bar to order something else separately. Wasn't too impressed with the staff. Kind of felt like I was a stranger coming into a someone's local hangout (which I actually was!!). I just thought I'd get a "thanks" or at least a "have a nice day" as I walked past the employees as I left. Nice thing is that if you are with someone who might not want a pasty, the bar has a pretty nice bar food menu including soups. Pasty was very good, will give them another try and maybe I'll get my "have a nice day" then!

My bestie is SEVERELY allergic to poultry and her husband was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease which means gluten is no good (even "cross contamination"). This makes finding a restaurant that can accommodate their needs a huge challenge. Our server went out of her way to talk to the chef and check things out. They were able to accommodate these specific diets and still beautifully create their entrees. It has been horrible to adjust life with Celiac, so when the food came out, I really thought there might be some tears of joy. ;) This gave us more reasons to come back! Thank you!

I ordered the lobster cargot for an appetizer - it didn't have much taste so I would pass on this in the future. The corn chowder was amazing !!!! Very flavorful. My lobster ravioli had a very nice portion size and lots of extra lobster. Our bill for 2 people who each had two alcoholic beverages was $150 with the tip. Cute date night spot. Food: The menu offers a nice selection of starters, à la carte options, and full dinners. The ability to add a wide assortment of sides is a great way to customize a meal to fit your tastes. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails, the Whistle Stop Old Fashioned and the Hemingway Daiquiri. Both were nicely made and delicious. We do not normally order bread service, but my wife was famished, so we started with the House Special Duck Fat Parker Rolls. Wow. They were amazing. The crust was dark, crunchy, and full of flavor. They came with honey butter and a bacon jam spread. Next time I might try the Steakhouse Brisket Burger and substitute these rolls for the bun. For our meals, we ordered the Salmon à la carte with a Caesar salad and the Wagyu Short Rib dinner. The salad was nicely made with a light and flavorful dressing and good presentation. The salmon was excellent. It was melt in your mouth tender with a beautiful pan sear, which is a perfect combination. The Wagyu Short Rib was a different experience. This was my first time having this "Denver" cut of short rib. I was expecting a very luxurious, rich texture, but instead it was fairly lean and a bit dry. The outside was nicely charred and had a slightly ashen flavor, which was not unpleasant, just unexpected. On its own, the meat was a disappointment. Paired with the risotto and bordelaise, it improved considerably. Still, it is not something I would likely order again. We took our leftovers home and still had room for dessert, so we shared the Banana Bread Pudding. It was delicious, though the texture was more muffin-like than the dense, creamy style we usually prefer. The rum raisin ice cream was a very nice addition. Service: Like the rest of the service at the American Club, it was very good. The entire evening felt relaxed and well paced. Water and drinks were always attended to, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful when explaining items. My only small issue was the tone of the service. It was extremely upbeat, almost to the point of feeling a bit scripted or performative. I love enthusiastic and friendly service, but at times it did not feel entirely authentic. This is a minor criticism in what was otherwise a very good experience. Atmosphere: Like the rest of the hotel, the Wisconsin Room is full of character and charm. There is a strong sense of history in the space, especially knowing it was once the cafeteria for early immigrant workers. That adds a humbling and meaningful layer to the experience. The room was still decorated for the holidays, with tasteful greenery and ornaments. We would definitely come back for another meal.
