We loved Crumbs Provisions! Our first time there and the food was outstanding - we had a huge delicious cinammon roll, fresh coffee, savory mushroom quiche with gruyere cheese and incredible 'mid coast toast' (pantone style) with berries. We neglected to get their names but the couple running the place were so wonderful - they were doing a million things at once, but still found time to make us feel welcome and attended to us often....excellent service. Food is excellent with wide choices. But the cashier, when we had brunch there, was a very young girl who did not know the price of anything, gave us no receipt, told us that only one egg came with the basic breakfast (we each wanted) so we said we wanted two eggs and would pay for the one extra per order egg. Waiter delivered the two basic orders which in fact each had two eggs and then delivered four more eggs (two apiece) and the tab ran to over $59.00. We raised a question about this but the owner was obviously in no mood to discuss so we did not press the point. Just be careful about the finger on the scale so to speak when paying. We had a terrible experience and I would not recommend this restaurant, although the food was good. On a Sunday morning, the two people - - presumably husband and wife - - somehow misplaced our order even though there were only half a dozen or less people in the place. When we brought it to their attention after seeing three other couples come in after us to place orders and get their food and leave, the man was very apologetic and the female cook seemed irritated and was short with us, asking us to re-order. Other patrons absolutely noticed. We continued to wait another 15 minutes, making the whole endeavor well over an hour and a half before food even arrived. Just very disappointing on how they handled their error. And for two people to have a fairly plain breakfast with two iced teas cost $63.45, before tip. There were no prices on the chalkboard menu and The prices were different - - much lower - - online. We were truly shocked on the price, and even more shocked at the woman's service even after their mistake. We will never return however it really appears they have a strong preference for locals over out of town guests. read more

The food here is very good but I'm giving it 3 stars because I was a caught a little off guard by the final bill. You order and pay at the counter from a handwritten breakfast menu with no prices. It's a tiny place where everyone can hear you so it's a bit awkward to have to ask what each thing costs. The place is so casual and not fancy, how expensive could it be? Our bill for two breakfasts came to $53. At that point what can you do... cancel the order which is embarrassing because everyone in the room will know what's going on. Like i said the food was good but I thought this was a very unusual practice on their part...why not just put the prices on the menu like every other restaurant? read more

This cute little bakery opened up a few years ago and I'm so glad to see it doing well! It has a wide selection of pastries, baked goods, and breakfast items, and super good coffee w/ refills! It has indoor and outdoor seating, and a good location right near the waterfront! The service is great, and the food is fresh, homemade, and thoughtfully prepared. Great spot! read more

Loved our lunch at Crumbs. The shrimp roll was excellent and homemade potato chips that came with it were great as well. Baked goods all looked amazing and we enjoyed the vanilla coconut cupcake. Good food, miserable owner. She seems to hate her job (and customers). I've been here a few times over the past year +. Each time the owner seemed overwhelmed and was nasty to multiple customers. She was also nasty to one of the older gentlemen who was working for her who was clearly trying his best (not her dad who was also there helping). She needs to develop better processes so she is not so overwhelmed - she is totally disorganized and does things in no apparent order. She was burning toast, taking ten minutes to get out coffee, wiping her nose with her arm and back of hand (then touching food). She openly sneered at a customer who came in to check on his order after 15 minutes. It's a shame - could be a great spot but not with her running it. read more

Authentic home baked items, unique takes on classic baked goods like glazed donuts that look like little baked breads, rhubarb scones, and the best peanut butter cookies I have ever tasted. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I noticed the grits on the menu and as a southern boy I was honestly skeptical. The poached eggs and crispy prosciutto on top of the creamy grits were truly unique and delicious. I don't think I've ever had anything quite like it. My girlfriend's Belfast breakfast was simple but equally unique and tasty. She really enjoyed the orange marmalade and the seasoning on the potatoes needed no salt, pepper, or hot sauce. read more

The breakfast sandwich was quality, quantity and quite delectable. The sausage in the eggs was amazing / I need to find the brand. Or if it's homemade? Omg that would be too much! Now for the cinnamon roll - it was the best one we've ever had. Moist, perfectly frosted. Just a little (okay no it's huge) treat from the bakery. Came in for lunch and left, knowing we would return. Didn't feel like a sandwich or salad so had an odd combination of a side of cheese grits, dried cherry scone, and homemade lemonade. All three were exceptionally good .The best scone I've had for ages. The grits were yummy and the lemonade was reminiscent of childhood memories. We have to have brunch here - and dinner, too. We recently discovered Crumbs Provisions along the harbor in Belfast and what an outstanding discovery it turned out to be. Five of us went to breakfast and after a delicious meal we left with huge cookies, generous slices of lemon cake and a slice of decadent chocolate cake. The breakfast was wonderful, farm fresh eggs, perfectly prepared, buckwheat pancakes with a baked apple topping and warm maple syrup and the most amazing breakfast potatoes! We were so impressed we went back the next day for lunch. Jenny, the owner and chef is a very friendly, warm host. Her cream of mushroom soup with homemade focaccia bread was fabulous. We had a very good, fresh salad with delicious house dressing and huge over stuffed sandwiches too. The flavors she combines are unusual in some cases but we're all extraordinary. Unfortunately for out waistlines we once again left with several of Jenny's delectable pastries. read more
