My friend and I stopped in a while ago and we had a really great experience. She always raved about it so I was excited to give it a go. It is a cute little shop for breakfast and lunch. They serve coffees, teas, hot chocolates and smoothies. Also on display are their deserts such as cookies and scones. I ordered the black iced peach tea with a sausage egg and cheese. She had ordered a coffee with a bacon egg and cheese. She said she loves the soft bread they have for the sandwiches. Which they did not disappoint. I really enjoyed what I ordered. If you find a seat they will bring the breakfast to you after you order at the counter. The staff was friendly and quick. It is a really quiet spot in the middle of town. You do have to pay to park. My husband was working in the area so I searched spots for coffee and Crumbs by Toast and Co was a result. Crumbs has a nice location it has a stream on one side. And its almost a pass through to a main street. Employees were patient with us while we took a little time to decide on what to order. My main reason for stopping in was an iced coffee. They have many syrup and milk options. I decided on a brown sugar cinnamon iced coffee with half and half. Too much half and half was added to my drink. My iced coffee still tasted good. Onto the food - I chose a breakfast wrap, and my husband the hot honey chicken sandwich. My breakfast wrap was sausage, egg, and cheese. The wrap came with avocado which I dont like. The women at the register offered me a hash brown instead which worked great. Between the iced coffee and the wrap it was a hearty breakfast. My husband enjoyed the hot honey on his sandwich. And was surprised he liked the bun. Crumbs is small on the inside. So its not the spot for a group. However You and a Friend, or You and Your Sister can hang out for a while. read more

Cute little spot right by the river in Torrington. It's a bit confusing to drive there -- you have to go down what looks like a dead end street -- but if you're already downtown and walking around, it's kind of convenient. I got the bacon egg and cheese, a side of hash browns, and a bagel with cream cheese for about $17, which felt fair for a local café. In Torrington I came across this adorable coffee shop called Crumbs. The exterior of the building caught my eye, with its sky blue bricks that would blend into the sky on a sunny day. The inside is so inviting and beautiful! They have a full wall of positive messages, on a faux grass background. Once I saw the December menu, I knew I'd be getting the Holiday Cookie Latte. I don't know if it's a new concept or if I've been living under a rock, but I've never had a hot latte with cold foam, until I had it at Crumbs. Oh my, was this delicious! The cold foam was cookie dough flavored, which is basically like ice cream. And the latte was almond flavored! This was a dream combo! My Holiday Cookie Latte was creamy, flavorful and so tasty! My favorite coffee place around, the espresso has a nice fruitiness to it and their specials are amazing! I also like their gluten free breakfast sandwiches a lot. Crumbs is the offspring of Toast and Co in Litchfield, located near the public parking area on Franklin Street. There's not a lot of room to sit (and the tables are configured in parties of two), so take out seems to be their dominant business. They have a good selection of coffee, regular and seasonal. There is somehow a Litchfield Springs water for sale (surprising because I don't think Litchfield has a spring). They offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The egg is cooked to fit the sandwich perfectly, although the cook and seasoning were slightly inconsistent. The cheese is light, but overall the sandwich was tasty. They seem like they will definitely be a neighborhood hot spot for coffee, especially when the new apartments down the road are fully open, so ordering ahead may be a wise precaution! read more

Was extremely disappointed in the whole experience. There were no highchairs to sit my grandson on so he could eat a breakfast. The owner walked in and was very rude, giving us dirty looks the whole time. I could also hear her complain to another worker that we'd been there too long. When I hadn't even finished my smoothie. It tastes just like the pie without the crust it even had toasted coconut on top and throughout it and it had coconut cold foam on top! This is a small little nice place You walk in to a menu on a chalk board behind the registers or hanging up on the side, I ordered a Strawberry Smoothie and a Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese. They are okay nothing spectacular they are not cheap with the cream cheese I can say that because I made a whole mess lol, my smoothie that cost $8.50 was not blended very well I took out a whole huge strawberry. The coffee and food is good but it takes forever to get your food once you order. The dining area is pretty small so there aren't many seats for customers to wait, some people had to stand around to wait for their orders. It took almost 20 minutes just to get 2 lattes and another 10 minutes for one breakfast sandwich. The coffee should be served right away, especially if it's going to take a half hour for the food to be ready. I think they prioritize online orders over walk in customers which is wrong and pretty frustrating. I also think they could use more employees and get them to hustle a little more when it's busy. read more
