Not sure if they didn't add it or if it may have been mixed in with the mashed up avocado? If so I think it would be better if added on top. Had to put more salt and pepper on it but at least they had packets available to do so. Overall not bad but kinda overpriced (for example they had potato pancakes for $2.75/each?? And additional $1 for apple sauce and another $1 for sour cream? I think it would be better to have 3 pancakes with the add ons for all one charge). Rebel Dog Coffee's area shops have been on our radar for years, and yesterday we finally checked their Farmington location. It's in a strip mall shopping plaza right next to a Nardelli's more or less where Route 6 crosses Fienneman Road/Birdseye Road. Their Dog Pack has four Rebel Dog members spread out around the Greater Hartford area and some of their coffees can be found in local supermarkets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their Farmington store is very large and comfortable, with plenty of space between the customer tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room was fairly crowded when we arrived, with people socializing and banging away on their laptops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Rebel Dog has a very deep offering of coffee drinks and food choices, Want a coffee? Well, you best be ready to choose among single or double espressos (with or without foam of whipped cream or steamed milk, lattes. Cappuccinos, mochas, and Americanos, light-dark-or decaf drip coffees, French Press, Pour Overs, teas, jot chocolates and a ton more. You can even get a growler of coffee, tea, or kombucha. I never saw that before. Now, what good is a morning coffee without something to munch alongside it? No worries, because the Dog has you covered with everything from "Build Your Own" breakfast sandwiches, six egg Benedicts, oatmeal, yogurt & granola, fruit cups, and pastries. If you arrive later in the day, your options might include soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled cheese and burgers. Our breakfast order was a cup of their Steady Habits light house blend (a medium-light roast, smooth and sweet with notes of roasted nuts, fig, and caramel), a cup of their Big Red Truck Dark Roast (a blend of both washed process and natural process Colombian coffees for a rich and layered coffee with notes of dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and warm spices), a "build Your Own" Breakfast Bagel Sandwich and an order of Avocado Toast. With tax and tip, everything totaled under $25. The sandwich we built contained ham and an egg on an Everything Bagel and we had zero complaints about it. My Avocado Toast (no added egg or protein) was wonderful. It was a thick slice of homemade multigrain bread topped with a very generous blanket of smashed avocado. I stopped in to try out their drinks. I love coffee shops and supporting local so this was on my radar for a bit. I didn't realize that there was a rebel coffee in Farmington, so I was very excited to learn that there was. I'm in Farmington often and I love coffee. I drink iced coffee all year round!! It was very busy when I arrived. All of the seats were taken and the line was to the door. The line moved pretty fast and there was space to sit when I got my food. They had a lot of choses for food and drinks. I got a peppermint mocha iced coffee with salted caramel toffee cold foam on top. I also got a breakfast sandwich with sausage, pepper jack cheese, and argula. The staff was very friendly and I loved the rainbow flag that was hanging up. Coffee they don't add the cream or milk, there is a self service bar to add yourself with oat milk, half and half and whole milk. Scones were a little crispy on the bottom but tasted great. Great place for coffee and/or a light breakfast. The build your own breakfast sandwich is awesome for me, especially as a vegetarian, in that they have many unique toppings and I don't have to modify an existing sandwich to omit meat. The list of options is extensive, lots of veggies, sauces, cheeses, proteins, and so on. I have not personally tried the eggs benefit, though I've heard good things, and know many people who enjoy the lunch sandwiches. My go to coffee anywhere is an iced americano, and I love it here too. But for meh food and that price tag. The chicken Sandwhich was overcooked and really dry. I went up and bought additional chipotle sauce for a dollar and that sauce was not any good. I probably could have asked to swap the sauce out for something different ... but I didn't bother. The coffee and food here are really good and employees are super nice and friendly. That said, my biggest complaint is phone app orders. When I came in, there was one other person in line, so I assumed it would be pretty quick to get coffee and a simple sandwich. But, after ordering, I noticed how crazed they were and then saw the mobile orders streaming in rapid fire on their machine. In the end, I stood there for 30-35 minutes, waiting for an egg and cheese sandwich while I watched them frantically fulfill mobile orders and place them on the mo lie order shelf. There has to be a better way; stores like this really need to learn to prioritize the customers who physically come in. Maybe push in-store customers' orders to the front of the queue for the chefs? Maybe there's no easy way to do this, but it ruins the experience of going there. Again, 5 stars for the employees and the food. Zero stars for the order system. read more

When it comes to coffee, you have the orange logo, "working man's" coffee at one end of the spectrum, and the green logo, "urban sophisticate" coffee at the other. By my observation, if a restaurant has the word "coffee" in it, it gravitates toward "urban sophisticate" in flavor; but, not true with Rebel Dog. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find that the smooth blend, with an almost nutty after taste, that is the Rebel Dog House Blend, fell closer to the "working man's" brew, which I find preferable. But, there's more to Rebel Dog than just coffee... I arrived at the Farmington location, noting short line in front of me, and a small, nearly full, dining area. The line moved quickly; and after having ordered my coffee and "The Motherland" eggs benedict, I took one of the last two available tables. During the slightly longer than anticipated wait for my food, I began to wonder if the targeted demographic for this restaurant was the character Ducky, from the 80's movie, Pretty In Pink, due to the 30 year old new wave/alternative music, being played softly in the background. Rest assured, the patronage was a good blend of young and old, blue and white collar, and everyone in between, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Finally! Breakfast. My first bite established that the Motherland had the essential ability to allow the taste of every ingredient to shine, with none overtaking the other. The smoky kielbasa, topped with sauerkraut, smothered in a creamy, rich, hollandaise sauce, with the poached eggs on top, blended perfectly together. As I used the last of the English muffin to sop up the remaining hollandaise sauce, I couldn't help but reflect on how, not only was I full, but also, that I was happily surprised by this dining experience, on the whole. The meal came to twenty dollars even, including tip, and the charitable contribution "round up" option offered at check out. At $12.50, the eggs benedict alone seemed a bargain. I don't know when I'll find myself up that way, in Farmington, again, but if I do, the Rebel Dog will surely be on my agenda. read more

I can't say enough good things about the quality of Rebel's offerings. I grind my La Colombe coffee with a Baratza every morning and use a Moccamaster coffee machine (my Aussie colleagues made me a coffee snob) and I still manage to visit this place...because I really love it and hope to keep them in business as long as forever! read more

People bring their laptops & hang out, they meet & gather.. I think its charming. The food is decent, I've been there there twice now, but the sandwiches are VERY greasy. Get LOTS of napkins. And if you do get the pulled pork or Cubano, make sure to ask for the mustard! They don't really spice their meat, which was a surprise, and it needed a little something. Rebel Dog Coffee Co. is a place that is more than a coffee run. We highly recommend staying for a bite from their wide menu of brunch offerings, sandwiches, burgers, salads and more! I've stopped before for a coffee, but had to come back to try the food. We got the Original Eggs Benedict, Santa Monica Eggs Benedict, a Potato Pancake and a Pierogi. This was some of the best brunch I have ever had at a coffee shop. The eggs were perfect and you have to try at least one pierogi. For drinks, we got their S'mores latte and an iced Matcha latte. Both were fantastic! I was happy that we visited at a time where it wasn't too crowded and we were able to find a seat with no problem. We did take our time with the menu and had a lot of folks go ahead of us--some let us know their food favorites (thank you!). The staff was great, friendly and very quick with our drinks and food. Perfect place after a morning hike! I chose this location because of its popular and positive reviews on Yelp. I had one server and another who was training, both super polite and were able to let me know what's the best picks for coffee and food. I sat outdoors for my dining experience and the space was really nice, i was lucky it was not super hot or cold the day i went so it was perfect to eat and enjoy my coffee. I had the cannoli latte which was a perfect pick me up. I also enjoyed their sweet potato hash with chorizo (not photographed because i INHALED it), the perfect blend of spicy, sweet, and savory. After shopping today I stopped by Rebel Dog Coffee for a bit of a pick me up. I was here about a year ago, and I had their Gouda Tuna sandwich, it was very filling and very tasty. Today I got the Pumpkin Spice Latte. This was perfect, I watched the young man make it, using whole beans in the latte machine. I didn't have to add any sugar to it, I could taste the cinnamon and the nutmeg, not a lot of pumpkin flavor but I was fine with it. It came with a beautiful design on top. This latte really hit the spot! I also got a cup of their Blueberry Overnight Oats as a light snack. This was also really tasty, they are cold and had a great thick consistency. How have I never left a review for here?! Rebel Dog is my favorite choice ship in CT, but especially this location. I love that they always have fun coffee flavors for the different seasons and especially love that a lot of them are vegan friendly. I love the snow latte in the summer and gingerbread latte in the winter. This year they even have a gingerbread cold foam topping too. I also appreciate them having some vegan food options, although I would love to see even more in the future. You order at the counter, but I didn't mind it because there was no line. While my intention wasn't to eat anything heavy, this Louisiana girl couldn't resist the sound of fried fish. Finally tried Rebel Dog Coffee! Space is very cool with beautiful wall murals. I ordered a cold brew with a shot of vanilla and my husband got the iced mocha latte. My cold brew was so good! I usually don't drink coffee with cream or sugar but the shot of vanilla really enhanced the great flavor of this coffee. But I think I may even get just a plain cold brew next time just to taste the coffee alone because I think it is that good! My husband was blown away by his drink as well-Very unique mocha flavor!
