This was a delicious meal! The ambience inside was perfect for breakfast. We had such a lovely waitress (I wish I got her name). It was my boyfriend's birthday and they brought out a piece of chocolate cake for him. We tried all the favs!

This is the perfect Santa Barbara spot for brunch! It's super cute and nestled off State Street and has a quaint friendly vibe with plenty of seating. We had various brunch options including their biscuit sampler and espresso martinis and then the main event included salmon Benedict with potatoes (served on their house biscuit OMG!), the house cheeseburger with fries and the scramble with veggies (forgive me I don't remember the name as it appears on the menu). We were celebrating a birthday so our amazing server Viviane gave the birthday girl some amazing chocolate cake for desert. Overall, Scarlet Begonia was the perfect spot for us to conclude another epic weekend in SB! If you're in town, you should definitely check them out!

Searching for a nice, quiet, pleasant surroundings to relax and have breakfast? Well, I recommend making Scarlett Begonia the place. Welcoming friendly staff; warm home like atmosphere. It's like having breakfast in your own house but with the added luxury of someone serving you perfectly done breakfast. We were just passing time waiting for our car service to be finished. Erin our server was the best. Friendly, efficient and did not rush us; we were allowed to just chill and enjoy. The Restaurant is roomy with plenty of space and areas to sit and relax. Good space for small or larger groups. The price point is a little on the higher end but the quality of the food matches the price. We did not have any bakery items, but I am told they are "a must " to share and enjoy.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cute spot with delicious breakfasts. This place came up with high marks so the hubby and I decided to stop for breakfast here on our way out of town. The reviews didn't steer us wrong; we thought it was really great. The atmosphere was homey but refined--no greasy spoon, this. They had a fair amount of vegetarian items, which we appreciated. We couldn't resist getting a cinnamon roll, which was enormous and delicious! Went really well with their good strong coffee. I got the Avocado Toast, which had a LOT of avocado, with a little bit of arugula. It was very simple--just what I wanted. The hubby enjoyed his soft scrambled eggs, which came with creamed spinach, Gouda, and roasted fingerling potatoes, in a pool of creamy sauce. The homemade jam which came with his side of sourdough toast was excellent. Service was friendly but a little slow, but they were pretty busy. I can understand why they're popular! Would definitely visit again at the next opportunity.

I am glad my cousin brought us here. The service was great, the decor felt like you were eating in a cute home, and the food was amazing. According to the server, the menu rotates dishes. So there wasn't a French toast option when we went. The dirty fries are a must and the orange juice is freshly squeezed! Everyone enjoyed it here.

Food was good, service was decent, ambiance was cozy. My daughter liked her food. Would not be my first choice to revisit. Oh, and there is an automatic surcharge added to the bill.

Hurry up QUICK and get to Scarlett Begonia.... This is by far the best Restaurant I've eaten at in a long time here in Santa Barabra. Vivian was such a sweet, fun, kind, and bubbly Waitress. She made us feel like we were right at HOME. Thank you Viv!!!! The food was A-MAZING! I had the Shrimp and Grits and my husband had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.. The Bacon and Biscuits were GREAT! The restaurant is a hidden gem off State Street here in Santa Barabra. Believe me when I tell you... this restaurant is a GREAT place and it won't disappoint.

Came here on a pouring rainy day after New Year and was seated right away. The day before when it was all sunshine, there was a line forming during the afternoon. So come early to avoid the line. The inside was cute, precious and warming. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious. First time here, and will definitely come back on my next visit to Santa Barbara.

Great location, great atmosphere for breakfast and the place to be on Saturday it seems. Went to try the musts at this place. Ordered a cinnamon roll that was just perfect. A order of dirty fries that surprisingly were really good. I got the biscuits and gravy, unfortunately it needed salt but I fixed it with asome Tabasco. The pancakes really are a staple there and the burger was juicy and executed well. It was busy but the service was great and prompt to our needs. Will be returning down the road.

I've loved Scarlett Begonia since their old location in Victoria Court, so yes, I'm a longtime brunch loyalist. Walk-in friendly, but I'm a reservation kinda gal. Brunch waits are just not my thing. The ambience is a big part of why I keep coming back. It's cozy, charming, and effortlessly Santa Barbara without trying too hard. They have two patios, one out front and another tucked away in the back. Both are bright and relaxed, perfect for slow mornings and people-watching. Inside feels warm, airy, and comfortable even when it's full. It works just as well for a casual catch-up as it does for a proper sit-down brunch. I honestly don't know what the negative reviews are about because I sure haven't run into that experience here. Not once. Maybe some folks just need to lighten up and order a mimosa. I stick to what I love and I don't mess around. The lemon ricotta pancakes with fresh blueberry compote, housemade syrup, and a side of bacon are my go-to every single time. Perfectly fluffy, balanced, and consistently delicious. When something works, I keep ordering it. Weekends are busy and if you've ever worked brunch service, you already know it's the worst. Speaking as a former server, patience goes a long way and the staff here handles it well. Bonus points for the pup menu because that's always a win. Scarlett Begonia remains a solid Santa Barbara brunch staple that I keep coming back to.

Great breakfast spot and wonderful service! They were one of the early ones open for brunch@9am as we strolled around the neighborhood. Our server Alex was amazing! The lemon ricotta pancakes and my husband's smoke salmon Benedict's were excellent! I really liked that they used their fresh home made biscuit instead of English muffins for the Benny! The dish of the day for me was the maple bacon biscuit. We ended up ordering two to go to eat on the plane for our flight home! The back patio is super cute! Highly recommend this brunch spot!

Scarlett Begonia was a great experience! We had a reservation for UCSB's graduation weekend and were met with kind staff, a beautiful seating area, and delicious food! Highlight was the biscuits and gravy, but everything was delicious!

Can I just say this is one of my all time favorite brunch spots in California!! Super friendly and attentive waitress! The food was so fresh and so flavorful. I melted on the inside when I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote. The best pancakes I have ever had. And will keep dreaming about them everyday again until I visit Santa Barbara.

For cocktails I'm always down with O.P.P. a prickly pear hibiscus cocktail that hits every time. My latest visit brought me in for the Chef's Table Crawfish boil. This took stage on the rooftop of the Canary Hotel. Chef John Vasquez and team really outdid themselves by making this a memorable experience! We sat communal style and they rolled out the Louisiana style crawfish on the table. They were a beautiful reddish orange color and tasted just like the sea. It also came with potatoes, corn, artichoke, sausage and clarified butter for dipping. I do wish it was a little more seasoned, but I don't know if that's possible with the shell on. Nonetheless it still was delicious! Paired with some brews from Validation Ale and it was the perfect combination. The views, staff, vibes and people is what made the evening a memorable experience. Overall, a great restaurant to check out at the Canary Hotel.

They add a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card. There is a window for to-go orders, but if you're dining in, you place your order with the gal at the podium. I have to say, although there were two staff working on drinks, my latte took a while. Luckily, it came before the food. There was a staff member waiting at the counter and delivering just drinks. Once I got my latte, it tasted good. Strong. I felt the caffeine. The avocado toast was good, too. It was served in a shallow metal dish. Thick, high quality, Artisan bread. I enjoyed the toasted pumpkin seeds. I would definitely order it again, but open to ordering something else on the menu next time. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and efficient. There was another gentleman standing in the back, immediately clearing tables. It's better if you come earlier on the weekends. There was a line of people when I was leaving. There's plenty of free street parking. I parked across the street.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else.
