Awesome thin crust today along with their Caesar salad Service was spot on as usual for an appetizer. We had these wonderful little pillows of dough with some marinara sauce. Vero Chicago Pizza on Gilbert Rd has become a family favorite. Staff is friendly and provide great service. You walk in and immediately feel the local neighborhood vibe. Great spot for watching sporting events. We were there last night to watch the Game 7 of the World Series. Was thinking of grabbing a quick lunch last Wednesday around noon before an appointment. They have a good looking lunch menu with a fountain drink for only $12, but we decided to try their 10 inch deep dish instead. There's 3 different tiers and you can build your own as well. Decided on the sears tower $28 as it has everything- sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, green pepper, and black olive. We were the only patrons there but the order seemed to be taking a long time so I asked the server if we can just have a slice each and box the rest to go as I didn't want to be late to my appointment. The pizza was quite tasty though it could have used a couple more minutes in the oven. The slice was very filling and I really liked the sauce. Their happy hour menu looked really good and offered Monday-Saturday 2-6pm and all day Sunday: $3 off starters, $6.50 wings, Italian beef with fries for $9, and 14 inch thin crust pizza with 2 toppings for only $14. read more

I was craving deep dish pizza and this place had good reviews on Yelp so decided to pop in during lunch around noon. We were the first customers and ordered the 10 inch deep dish sears tower as it had everything. The pizza was very tasty but It's not your traditional deep dish. It's more like a tomato pie and the sauce is incredible. It's definitely one of the best Italian sauces I've had. The 10 inch was pretty big and we had leftovers. Service was good and the place was clean. I'd like to go back to try the butter crust and the thin crust as well. read more

Tastes like Lou's and the crust is amazingly delicious! Kiddos loved the thin cheese pizza and would order again next time we are in town!

Definitely go here for the excellent service and delicious food but if you're looking for atmosphere, this may not be your go-to. Super small interior with only 3-4 tables inside, a very long bar with lots of seating but lots of outside seating if the weather is conducive. Our server was Tyler, who has been at Vero for years, and he was awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was on point! My husband and I shared a pizza and a sandwich. The pizza crust and toppings were prepared to perfection and the sandwich was equally as bomb. The beef was tender and flavorful, the bread was tender and crisp at the same time, the fries were hot and salted, just as we like. There are several other locations and we could tell this one did a huge takeout business. We'll definitely be back! read more

It's usually good. We order large thin crust and a pan pizza. For some reason the last couple times we've gotten it, the oil or something in the ingredients tastes old , like rancid oil. My Family usually finishes pretty much everything on the first day and have some leftovers. This time it all went in the fridge and then got tossed the next day because nobody would eat it. I sent an email to management and never heard back. I would love to give them another chance, but I hate to blow more money on wasted food. read more

Food coma, party of 5! We started off with the deep fried cheese curds and hot wings and for the finale we ordered a Pepperoni deep dish and Lake Shore Drive (all meat) thin crust. One pizza would have been enough but my husband has a weakness for meat. I've never had a real Chicago deep dish pizza to compare it to but it was incredible. We drove miles to one of the Phoenix locations after watching a reel on Instagram. The food did not disappoint! Their deep dish pizza is extra yummy, as are the appetizers, drinks and desserts. Service was great; our waitress checked in on us several times. The restaurant is semi dimly lit w a few TVs. Very clean place in a really nice location. Will visit again. read more

One of the best Chicago style pizzas around. Our favorite is the Sears Tower thin crust. Many times we'll buy a deep dish pepperoni and mushroom as well. I also like the pan pizza as well. The deep dish is what most people consider Chicago pizza. Baked in a pan with the sauce on top of the cheese. The Pan Pizza is baked in a pan but has the sauce under the cheese. The deep dish is very heavily sauced. I'm a fan of all three and they do all three well. This location is pretty small but not usually so busy you can't get a seat somewhere. They do a large carry out business. But it's far better when you eat it right away. The longer it sits the crust get soggy. read more

We've been Lou Malnati fans for years and just found Vero tonight. We loved our entire experience tonight and would rank it well above Lou Malnati. To begin with the Vero crust was tastier and had more crunch on the bottom. Also Vero has many more options for toppings. We had Italian Beef with Hot Giardiniera and roma tomatoes. Delicious! Deep dish Chicago style pizza usually takes about 40 minutes at Lou's, this came out in 30 and was perfectly done. Kein served us and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Just wanted to give a shout out to the (I'm assuming) manager on duty for his great service tonight. I effed up and thought I placed an order at the new location in NORTH Chandler. I went there and my order was no where to be found. The drive to this location was 20 min. Mind you, it's already 20 min past closing. The team did amazing, took care of me "for my troubles", even though I was the late one, and the best part... THE PIZZA IS AMAZING!! Worth my fuck up, and the drive. Glad to know I have one super close to me. I'm a big Chicago deep dish pizza fan and this pizza is better Lou Malnatis, and Rosatis. IMO :) Thanks again guys! I'm a fan! read more

I paid ~$71 on 11/19/23. This was my 1st & last time I'll be ordering from here. I'd avoid this place! My husband normally says he'll eat ANY pizza. Worst pizzas we've ever ordered from anywhere! The 2 large pizzas we got were both SOOO salty we ended up throwing majority of them away. We ordered 14" Butter crust, Lakeshore Dr (Jet's pizza butter crust is MUCH better. This just seemed oily) & a 16" thin Lincoln Park. Think the problem was the Bacon on both. It was just too salty. The Lakeshore/Regular pizza was easier to eat...(it's a meat pizza & sausage was spicy) but, had very little sauce. NOTE: I'm writing this review about a week after I submitted an online review they requested via email survey. It's been about 10 days later & they still haven't contacted me. read more

While I am not a Chicagoan, most of the deep dish I've eaten has been in greater Chicago, and IMO, Vero's is the best I have had outside of Chicago. Your love of Malnati's, Vero's or Rosati's may hinge upon your particular likes. I love Lou Malnati's in Chicago (have been to 3 locations there) but was really disappointed in their Tempe outpost (service was great; pizza was actually mediocre-to-bad; the BBQ salad was much better than the pizza.) What I like about Vero's: - they seem pretty consistent across visits - their sauce* - their sausage - their proportion of ingredients - fully cooked but not overcooked crust - not greasy *their sauce has all the richness of a really good marinara, with the addition of fresher chunks of tomato. The result is depth of flavor with a fresh, more acidic bite. I'm a big fan. Ambience is very chain-like sit-down but nice. My favorite deep dish of all time is actually Chicago's Pequod's -- both for the pizza itself, the amazing beer/cider selection, and the ambiance that is 1/2 darkened pizza parlor, 1/2 cool dive bar. read more

We had a great time on our visit to Vero! The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and efficient.

Not sure what they did to their website. Have ordered at least a dozen pizzas from them for pick up online. Tonight, their website would not accept my payment unless I went thru Apple Pay. Never has been the case b4 tonight, yet their website, using apple pay did not recognize my visa. Then called the restaurant and dealt with a teenager with a major attitude problem to order my pizza. This location does not have a proper bar with normal drinks every bar has. Then to deal with the attitude on top of that is ridiculous. Paid with the same credit card that their website refused to recognize. Another customer came in right after and also said he was not able to pay online. Sad to see this place has someone willing to be rude to customers that just stopped by for a pizza. Maybe why it was mostly empty tonight. Smh. The pizza was overloaded that resulted in a soggy pizza. Normally a decent experience. Unfortunately, not tonight. Hoping this is not the new norm. read more
