    Pastrami and swiss
    Paul S.

I feel Lucky I stopped into Lucky Lou's!I was going to go somewhere else but stopped here on last minute. I sat at the bar, clean and well maintained. I ended up ordering the Pastrami and Swiss on a fresh roll with fresh fries with ice tea. Pastrami is cut in house, thin and yummy! Now the service was great for me although I watched a server fill a few beers then wipe down the side of the beer glasse from top to bottom with their hand, then whipped it on their apron 3 different occasions. Im the lucky on for not ordering beer with a side of hand.....

Came here for lunch because one of contractor I know said they have amazing shrimp bucket (well the one at Power and McDowell) figure same restaurant but they didn't have shrimp basket. Menu had pretty good selections but I noticed some of the dishes had extra add on cost. Ordered wings since I was craving wings. So if I want grilled that cost extra, if I want just one kind of wing that is extra. So i ordered 14 pieces and asked if I could do half and half on the wing sauce. Nope.. I can get em plain and get two different sauce. So then I decided to get the wings with Nashville hot and side of mango habanero. My friend ordered standard lunch cheese burger. Food came and my wings looked and tasted pretty good. Nashville hot was not hot but it was pretty good. Mango habanero was sweet but did not have any heat. Fries were nice and crispy. Burger on the other hand was very plain Jane nothing special burger. When the check came waistess let me know they initially charged me for mango habanero but she took it off the bill, that was nice of her. Server was nice and very attentive. Over all food was ok, nothing special. Maybe they have good deals on happy hour food or something but then I don't really drink so I guess I won't be returning.

IM BAAACK!!! Returning to Lucky Lou's for the blackened chicken sandwich. Soooo good, of course I got a cup of chilli to go with the sandwich. Best cup of chilli in town. The sandwich was delicious and not too blackened. I'm definitely going to try the whole menu.

we stopped in to this location last night for the first time and it did not disappoint! this location has some seating inside as well as a patio outside. we decided to sit up at the bar. the service was amazing! shoutout to our server drew, he was so friendly and kind. and the rest of the staff were super great as well! as for the food - SO good!! i love the variety of items they offer here; it was hard to choose what to get! we ended up getting the pierogies (which were so delicious some of the best piergoies i've had.) and then for our entree, we got the high roller burger (bbq sauce, cheese, onion rings) and that was amazing! super tasty!! we are absolutely coming back! i would highly recommend if you haven't been before! such a cute diner concept with amazing food and great service! thank you lucky lou's!

First time here & we decided to since our usual haunt is Nando's, which we found out is closed Mondays, so Kristy suggested this since she & her husband love it. I'm glad we came. Very good service, big portions of food (I ended up taking the rest of mine home), perfect ambiance even with sports on the tvs, & our waitress was super cool! Kristy got a burger & sweet potato fries, while I got the Ralo's Mac & Cheese & Kristy took home an order of that for Jon! Very good choices! She also had a lemonade & I had Coke Zero. Can't do lemonade because of citrus allergies. I will return because this place is awesome with a downhome vibe.

Pierogies are delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant smelled so good. I had a one time craving for a hamburger but I wanted something small so I asked for the hamburger off the kid's menu. I was told NO because they enforced the age limit. It's a disappointment when I go to a restaurant I am told NO. I would recommend they sell a petite hamburger then for people that just want a little bit. They sell Coke products.

I've been to other Lucky Lou's locations and this one didn't disappoint either. I went with my favorite the buffalo chicken salad. Probably not healthy at all because it tastes so good, but I convince myself otherwise because it's a salad. Also we shared some mozzarella sticks because those are also always really good. This is another great Lou's location with friendly service, fun atmosphere and delicious food.

I was pleasantly surprised by the good food, good service and cleanliness of this place. It was my first time and won't be my last. Lou's is a modern but classic diner the retro menu brings back fond memories of diners past I had the shaved prime rib sandwich with side of fries. The bread fresh , the sandwich piping hot and the fries to die for. The service was perfect with all the servers making sure we were happy with our meal and our beverages full. We felt very welcome and pleased

I've been to several of the Lucky Lou's grills and was excited to try this place. Great location in Dana Park with an outdoor patio that's covered and dog friendly. Service was great and our server was friendly. The food is just as good as the other Lucky Lou's locations. Great option for homestyle American food.

This building used to be an old CPK restaurant. It gives the vibe of a diner. The menu is large and "diner-ish." salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta entrees, milk shakes & sweets. Three of us dined here. The server was very friendly & when asked, she told us her favorites. Steak on a stick: nicely flavored, but a bit dry. No sauce, so I dipped in ketchup. Not the best. Fries were nice and crisp. Meat Loaf: No flavor, bland. Large chunks. Came with a brown gravy. Onion rings were very crispy. Fish fry: Fish was lightly breaded. Fish didn't have a lot of flavor. Out of the three of us, two of us will give the restaurant another chance.

But, my wife had fries that I could steal and I appreciate having a salad option. The little side salad had a nice bitterness complemented by the slight sourness of the dressing. The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.

The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. We finished with the butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending--warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness Overall, a great patio dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent service, and plenty of variety.

Let me start with a little tid bit about Downtown Gilbert. There is nothing really special about it…read moreoutside of the vibe is right. Always a lot of people there so it makes you want to be there. Restaurant wise they have really basic offerings. Places you can find in Mesa, and Tempe, and Scottsdale. Now.... What truly makes Downtown Gilbert special are the small shops that are hidden away from the "main strip". One of those places is Clever Koi. Hidden in the Parking lot space behind Shaq's Chicken spot is a small strip of shops. A book store, smoothie place, and my favorite Clever Koi. Our family has very different tastes when we move from one member to the next. So finding places that we all like gets tricky. Clever Koi makes that easy because we honestly have yet to run into something we don't like. Let's start with our favorite starter. The steamed buns (giggity). The pork belly is hands down phenomenal. An amazing bite that literally makes you want more and more. The lazy fries are just that, again pork belly is included, but that garlic aioli is what drives this dish. The tai salad is obviously classic. The short rib dumplings literally make you close your eyes and just say "Mmmmmm". My middle child is the hardest pallet to please at any restaurant as he only eats certain things, but the Chicken Katsu sandwich here is his second favorite chicken sandwich in all this world. The first time he ate it he spent the whole ride home raving about it. Mind you, we live in San Tan, so not a short ride. The shaking beef is always good. It has this firey kick that brings the heat upfront but does not linger. You cannot forget about the fried rice here. Rice is one of my weaknesses in life second only to pizza. Fried rice ranks right up there with my top favorite ways to eat rice and this ranks right up there with my favorite fried rice places. The main reason we come here is because of the noodles. Ramen, ramen, ramen. When you think of Ramen, I assure you this is what you are thinking of. The broth is oh so savory and reigns in the fresh veggies and proteins to meld them with the noodles for a flavor punch each time you have a mouthful. They have great drinks here as well, or so I've been told by the other adults I come here with. I always just get a sake and Sapporo so... LOL The service is always good here and we somehow always manage to miss the lunch or dinner rush which is awesome. All in all... this is by far my favorite dining spot in downtown Gilbert. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere, in the middle of a great little square. A must eat for me.

I love a good rooftop and the weather was perfect. While they don't have a parking lot, free parking is available on the street and in the various surface lots and garages in the area. Ambiance (4.5/5): It's tough to beat a rooftop. Here you'll have nice views of downtown Gilbert, including the historic Gilbert water tower (which lights up at night). It's not a huge restaurant/bar, probably 50 seats or so. A good number of tables and then 15 seats or so at the bar. We sat at the bar. There's a pretty nice mural on one end too. Service (4/5): A little slow to start out with and to close out, but overall, friendly. We found one of the last four remaining seats at the bar. If not for that, there would have been a wait. One drink and then we made our way. Overall, about average. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet for this visit but they do have a full menu. Drinks (4/5): Interesting craft cocktail list. The first one on the list is a Sotol cocktail. If you've never had Sotol, it's a Mexican spirit. Not tequila and not mezcal, but somewhat similar to mezcal and it does have a bit of a smoky flavor. The Sotol So Good has sotol, butterfly pea, coconut rum, pineapple, lime, and orgeat. It's purple so it makes an impression. It packs a punch too.
