I have been a customer for many, many, many years. I've never had a problem. However today I experienced sticker shock. $48 for three items (slacks, dress, and a maxi dress). The maxi dress was $24.95, $15.95 dress, $7.95 slacks). I realize the dry cleaning business has taken a hit and small businesses are suffering. I would love to continue to support. However consumers have taken hits and this is not sustainable for me. I still can't believe I paid almost $50 to have three items cleaned. There is no price list posted. I should've listened to the reviews of this location but I did have a coupon I could use here so I proceeded to drop by some clothes to get cleaned. They gave me a time of 5 days, a little long but that okay, I wasn't in a rush for those particular clothes. I returned 5 days later and found out they don't know where my clothes went. How is this possible? It was 4 blazers, 3 buttoned up shirts and 1 skirt. (My work clothes) Never again!! They never found my clothes nor did I ever receive an apology. My biggest regret here is that I somehow missed the horrible reviews before being burned by this "business". I paid over $100 to have some very important items cleaned in preparation for an important birthday trip. My wife's wardrobe for this trip was planned around some of these items. I dropped them off on Monday and asked to have them back by Wednesday. I paid a significant premium for that "service". I showed up at 5:54 PM on Wednesday and was told that my items had not yet arrived. I asked when they would and the woman said "at 6:00", so I said I would wait. At 6:10 I asked for an update. She said that he usually comes between 6:10 and 6:20. Oh, now it's 6:20? What happened to 6:00? Long story short, I sat there for nearly 50 minutes when I was incredibly stretched for time. One of the most important dresses in the order didn't show up at all. This place is an absolutely embarrassment. No discount, no apology, nothing. I paid full price for service that I didn't receive. I wish I would have read the reviews before going to this cleaners. Brought 3 shirts in to be cleaned and starched on Monday (I waited for them to open). Specifically said I needed them Thursday. Well it's Thursday and no shirts. Getting the run around from them as we have a flight at 6am tomorrow and one of the shirts is my husbands tuxedo shirt for a wedding we are attending. The WORST customer service experience I have ever had at a dry cleaners. Went in with a simple garment I needed cleaned by a specific day and time because I had a very important event to wear it to (dropped off this garment on a Saturday morning for a Tuesday night pick up - so they had about 4 days to clean this one item...). I was assured by the cashier it would be ready the day and time on my receipt (Tuesday after 5p). When it wasnt ready when promised and I expressed my disappointment I was told explicitly by the manager that they "don't need customers like me" and that they deal with the BBB several times a year with "people like me" and that they promise nothing regarding when items will be ready, that they arent bound to the date and time printed right on the slip they give you when you drop your items off. Bottom line: Five days to get ONE item cleaned + getting demeaned as a patron + $7.75 + zero customer service in trying to make it right... read more

My experience with this place is so terrible that I have to activate my dormant Yelp account to deter my neighbors from going to this business. I have used them irregularly mainly for the convenience of the location. Worst dry cleaner I've ever used. Terrible quality - the stains on the garments I paid high price for remained there. Worst customer service - when I pointed out the stains, the lady told me that the cleaning was not done in their store and it was done in Martinez. I told her that I don't care where they get done. My pickup date was Tuesday. I came to pick up on Wed. after 5PM and was told my shirts and pants were not ready. The clerk just told me my order "is not here yet". Not even one word of apology. They called me about an hour later to tell me it was ready for pick up. Of course I didn't bother to go back. I had to come back the next day to pick up. Again, not even one word to apologize. Not 10% or 20% discount for missing promised date. This place is very expensive compared to other places (9 shirts washed + 5 paints dry cleaned = $56), and this is the customer service level I am getting? I am not coming back. read more

Please stay away from Crystal cleaners if you care for your money and clothes!! I wish I had read all the poor reviews before I used them for ironing some trousers. One of them came back with huge stains. And as previous customers have mentioned, these guys will just blame you saying the stains were already there. The lady at the store first looked at the trousers and said that's water stains. When I told her I had given only for ironing, she comes up with a lie that - oh it's oil stains. I have been taking my clothes to this location for at least five years and have never had a problem. They don't have on-premise cleaning, so if I needed something immediate or next-day I would probably take it to another cleaner, but I typically do not have immediate cleaning needs. My garments have been limited to shirts, pants and occasionally a jacket. Never had anything come back damaged or lost. Their prices are a little high, but as others have said, the location is convenient. read more

It takes a lot to get me upset. It takes an AWFUL lot to get me to activate my dormant Yelp account that i made in 2010 to post my first ever -albeit negative- review. But this is what the owners of Crystal Cleaners has motivated me to do The husband/wife combo has alienated me so much that it has prompted me to go through all this trouble. Being a regular customer for about 2 years, I've never had excellent service, and their prices are definitely on the high end. Why have I been for so long, you might ask? Convenience. I had chosen to forego numerous cracked shirt buttons, the inconsistent starch amounts being applied, and the one time where my shirt got switched with another customer's shirt of the same size and similar pattern! ... all for what? Convenience....ehem, most likely laziness to drive an extra 5-10 minutes to another, cheaper cleaner nearby. My typical dropoff would consist of a month's supply of shirts, some pants, and whatever my wife wanted dryclean that month: blouses, skirts, etc. When I went to put on my shirt one fine morning, I noticed a half dollar coin sized bleach stain, smack dab in the middle of my shirt, near the buttons, about 1 inch above my belly button if I put on the shirt. When I took the shirt back, I was told that the bleach stain was already there, and that the clerk who received my dropoff called me about it when she received it. This fairy tale continues to me giving the OK to clean it over the phone, and me saying that its no big deal, that I would tuck in my shirt to hide the stain !! This was so illogical on so many levels, I didn't know what to say. The wife owner then proceeded to take down my phone # to call me back. Fast forward, and the husband owner calls me, and proceeds to still implicate me in this matter. I explained to him that its impossible that I would let this go and tuck in my shirt, because I would have to pull my pants up to my chest to sufficiently hide this stain, and I wouldn't know how to make a nice circle bleach stain on that spot. It didn't make any sense. He concluded that he would check his AT&T phone bill to see if the clerk had indeed called me .... and we left it at that. That was 2-3 weeks ago and no response. I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I would give Crystal Cleaners 0 stars if I could after this incident. I have told every one of my friends of my bad experience, and some of them have stopped going there after hearing my story. PS: I would post up pictures of this heinous bleach stain, but I don't see an option to upload a picture right now. If I could rate this cleaner lower than 1 I would, here is what happened to my jacket and I did not pay attention to the reviews so I hope you do read this before you do business with this so-called dry cleaner. I took my designer jacket that had leather on the shoulder to this dry cleaner. The lady at the counter said that I have to check with the owner to see if we can clean this here or do we need to send to a specialty cleaner for leather. She called me after a couple of days and told me that the owner said that they can clean it themselves. When I went back to get the jacket the leather was completely damaged, and when I complained about my jacket being damaged the lady at the counter called the owner and asked me to talk with him over the phone, when I told him that my jacket was damaged and he has to fix it he asked me to leave his store so I did. After that, I went and filed with small claim court for my damages and in the court, the judge ordered him to give my jacket back to me plus $70 in damages so that I could get my jacket fixed. When I went to the cleaner to get my jacket he refused to give me back my jacket and he wanted me to pay him for the jacket cleaning and $70 in damages!!!! Stay away from this place they have no idea what customer service is, there is a reason that they have such a horrible rating. Wow, I'm amazed that this place is still in business. I too had to reactivate my dormant Yelp account to share my bad experience. My biggest regret is being too lazy to research a quality alteration location and on a whim dropped off my dress to get hemmed. My dress is a long unlined dress. I already cut the dress and instructed the clerk, Audelin to have the seamstress sew it. She blatantly told me in my face that she can't stand people like me who already cut the dress because it's crooked. I was completely shocked with her customer service skills. Anyhow, I left the dress there six days ago and it was promised to me today for pick up. I went in to pick it up and low and behold, Audelin was there and said the dress is not here and she can't get a hold of the owners. She promised to call me when she can reach them. After waiting an hour, I called and she answered and said she spoke to the owners and the dress is done and to come the next day to pick it up. No apologies but rather annoyed that I was asking her normal questions. She failed to mention the total price of the hem of the dress unlined dress is $30. I was floored, so I asked how much is a dress that has a lining? $35-$45 for one dress to get shortened. Lesson learned, I will never come back here and would rather drive an hour or more with better customer service and fair prices for decent service. Big Sigh! read more

I told them them to have the owner call me and I would explain the situation. She called me and hung up in my face when I told her I should not have to pay for their mistake. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and what makes it even worse; the owner could care less!!!!

I worked for 34 years and wore suits each day. Our family was transferred regularly and so we have had several different cleaners over the years. Most recently a cleaner came by our home each week, but since retiring a couple of years ago, my dry cleaning business does not warrant a weekly pickup. I tried Crystal and other than a somewhat unfriendly lady at the front desk, she is no longer there, all went well for a year. Recently I dropped off a shirt and was given a different shirt when I returned. I took the shirt back and explained the issue. They listened and said they would follow up, but I could tell I would never see my shirt again. Over the years I have had broken buttons and two lost shirts, one recovered and one paid for by the cleaner. Though the circumstances were unusual with this shirt, Crystal Cletook the approach that I was wrong and they were right. So today I still don't have my shirt, but I do have a new cleaner. I I dropped off a blue checked David Donahue shirt and was given a light purple/lavender shirt back. I didn't notice for several days, then returned the purple shirt trying to get my shirt back. That didn't work so now several months later, my wife said try on the purple shirt Crystal Cleaners claimed was mine. It doesn't fit. It is a slim fit vs. a trim fit- not even close. This place doesn't care. Stop by the cleaner I am using now-Country Club Cleaners. You get a text message when your shirts are ready-just one day, and I always get MY shirts back. This is the worst dry cleaner we have ever used. My husband has had many shirts returned with new stains and cracked buttons here. Every time he brings them back to complain, they use their scripted response "that's a food stain, must be your fault. that's not something we would do. you will need to pay for dry cleaning it to get it off. laundering won't get it off..." they ALWAYS deny it's their fault and say the same thing whether it's the owner or staff that you encounter that day. I would recommend not to use this facility!! They always over promise and under deliver. You drop off your clothes and they tell you that they will be ready at a certain time, and then you come to get them and they are not even at the store. This happened to me with a certain garment that I brought in and had to come back to the store at 3 separate times and then was charged full charge for the item that I had sent to clean. This is a bit ridiculous, considering I was promised an item to be ready at a certain time. Most good outfits, will not charge the service for the error to keep the customer happy and coming back to the store. I guess this place really does not care. 1) Poor customer service and lack of accountability for damaged items and 2) poor turnaround. The cleaners accepted a bathroom rug that had to be dry cleaned...they washed it! First for some strange reason (!!!) they could not find it. When I insisted, it arrived totally stretched out of shape and discolored. The staff member spoke to the owner. No comment. I asked for and received his phone number in Martinez (Scott). He apologized and told me he would give me a credit on my next dry cleaning for the cost of the rug. When I returned from an assignment abroad, the staff claimed no knowledge and said they would ask him. No credit and shrugged shoulders by the staff! I picked up my last item and will never return. I wish Yelp allows zero star reviews. Terrible customer service and I recommend that you don't use Crystal Cleaners. They charged me twice and refused to refund me on their mistake that was caused by the fault of their transaction pad device. When I showed them both the debit card and the credit card receipts, and the bank statements, showing that both transactions had gone through on the one service - they told me I had to fix it myself with my bank. When I asked for the owners name and phone number, the woman (Shawn) refused to give it to me. I had to file a fraudulent transaction claim against Crystal Cleaners, causing me time to try to get their problem fixed. read more

I really like this place, the owner made sure my suit was ready in time for my interview and only charged me 14.95 to dry clean and remove ink from my burberry coat. I think the prices are standard for this area, but they are open on the weekends which is nice. read more

Just don't go. I saw a sign at their window that said they did shoe repair, so I turned in a boot to get a zipper replaced. I was told that the shoe repair would call me with a price estimate. They never did and for two weeks I kept returning to ask about where my shoe was. It turns out they send all shoe repairs out to Martinez. So they did not actually know the state of my shoe or how to get it back. I asked several times for a direct number to call their shoe repairer and they refused to give me any sort of number and were quite rude in explaining the entire situation to me. Later they told me it was because the repairer was on vacation, which they should have initially told me, so I didn't have to put up with any of this bull. Finally received a call saying it would cost $30 to replace a single zipper, which is a complete ripoff. I agreed because I just wanted to get it fixed before winter break ended and I left town. When I picked it up, there was still glue on the new zipper, forcing it stuck. It took another several minutes of fiddling with it to get it to slide smoothly, during which the counter clerk told her she had to place a call to get this order rushed. Which just blows my mind because you had more than TWO. ENTIRE. WEEKS. I have never written a Yelp review before but I really needed to share this terrible experience and encourage others to go elsewhere to avoid horrible customer service, awful repair work, and unreliable waiting times. The WORST cleaner I ever used. They practically ruined my tie. After four tries, my tie got discolored, wrinkled, and worn. And still no proper apology. I typically don't give negative reviews of small businesses, but these guys pushed me over the edge. I've been a relatively long time customer (3 yrs) out of convenience. Their pricing is a bit high, but location trumped all. While I've seen the poor ratings here, I haven't had an issue with them (other than cracked buttons)...until about 6 months ago. At that time I started finding oil-like stains on some "cleaned" shirts. This has been happening to about 20% of my shirts each time. I've complained, and they absolutely will not take responsibility for the stains. They blame me and suggest I get makeup or some other stain on the shirts before I drop them off. While their service had been fine in the past, they've performed a complete about face and act very confrontational and accusatory when confronted about the stains. Needless to say, I now have to move on and find another cleaner. read more

I guess that I should have read the reviews first because I had just as bad of an experience as everyone else did. I took several items in with small stains needing to be removed. I was told it would be no problem to get them out, but upon pickup there was no change to the stains. When i pointed out that the issue hadn't been touched the girl working there just replied, "you only paid for a cleaning, not a dry cleaning." Well the fact is that wasn't what the clothes were brought in for in the first place lady... Overpriced "cleaning" that didn't get the job done. This is a great place to go for alterations if: 1) you want your work to be done a week late after 4 trips to pick it up, 2) you want your clothes ruined, 3) you want to pay FULL PRICE for the privilege of having your clothes ruined. The owner was very rude with his comments and they are over priced. I have experienced this type of behavior while in Asia, where the business owner believes he is more superior than his customers. This is not good for business in America, especially where the majority of your customers net worths, likely exceeds yours. In addition to his rudeness, all the clothes that I had overpaid to have dry cleaned and pressed, were all bunched together. I had to re-iron everything prior to wearing them again as they were wrinkled. The quality of service was low, with a rude and arrogant comment by the owner to boot. Horrible customer service. First experience, clothes came back still dirty, as though they were not completely washed. We decided to give them a chance to "redeem" themselves. Explained to the lady our previous experience and she just looked at us puzzled. No sense of apology, or making the situation right. We asked if they could have the clothes ready next day, she said 50 cents more per item. We agreed that the additional cost was okay. Then she said after 5PM the next day. It seemed as she was trying to deter us from following through with the next day request. We decided to take our business else where and will never go back. The woman did not seem phased by losing our business and allowed us to walk out. This establishment doesn't seem to value their customers.
