What a beautiful discovery. We were greeted by the friendliest of hostesses who gave us the prime spot on the outdoor patio. It was like a penthouse suite. (possibly only available because the rain was coming) There was a rainbow in front of us and a foraging deer behind us. While perusing the menu for vegetarian options, I noticed the poblano chile entree, stuffed with mashed potatoes. That seemed so weirdly bizarre that I ordered it, asking our super friendly server if it was good while doing so. "Yeah, it's good," she said with a glazed look, as though she was dreaming of a life where there are no tourists. Or stupid questions. Or no reason to endure mindless chitchat and can you just state your order so I can get on with my night. Anyway, I was happy for her endorsement because it was delicious. Same for the grilled veggies and Mexican slaw that accompanied it. My wife loved her shrimp tacos. We both can't wait to go back, next time we're in the area, being tourists and all. read more

3.5 stars it is a bright vibrant restaurant sectioned into multiple rooms and an outdoor patio. Decent amount of street parking available. The waitress wasn't attentive and never refilled water for our table of 3. There was a miscommunication on one of our orders and she immediately said-you asked for this and we didn't even have it on the menu and didn't offer to make what was wanted but yet didn't say anything when the order was placed about asking for an item that wasn't on the menu. My wife and I had eaten here several years ago and the service and quality of food was still just as good as we had remembered. The restaurant is laid back and family friendly. I would advise the outdoor seating area if weather permits so you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Crystal Park Cantina is very off the beaten path. You will not find tourists who wander downtown Manitou get to this restaurant. I highly recommend it. The food was good. everybody had a good time and enjoyed our time (group of 12). They have a diverse margarita menu and good food. Probably best to use Google maps to get there. It is out-of-the-way and in a very residential area, but I'll go back again. I'm generally a tough year and don't give out four and five stars often. I can't see a reason to give it anything less than four stars. read more

Though the restaurant is small, it's clearly a local favorite. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated within minutes. The chips and salsa set the tone--smoky with just the right kick, absolutely addictive. For my entrée, I ordered the steak tacos, served with rice and beans that were bursting with flavor. I also had the chance to sample a shrimp taco, and if I had to choose again, I'd go for the shrimp. Motel suggested as a good Mexican option, I was hesitant based on more current reviews. We went. Cute spot. Marg was good $10. Chips and salsa were good and complementary. Ordered 3 chix tacos. Zero flavor on the chicken. Street corn tortilla shell that was sopping wet from the contents. A whisper of cabbage slaw and a dot of pico. Yellow rice was sweet and not finished by anyone in our group. Chicken enchilada with tomatillo Alfredo was a non-starter. Abs unappealing looking on a plate as well as the flavor is not good. Overall the chicken was big clumps of protein, it needs to be shredded more and seasoned. I would only go back for a margarita and chips and salsa with maybe some guac. Wanted some authentic Molcajete and what I got was a white washed version....no bowl no cactus, one green onion, a piece of red bell pepper and a sliver of an onion. The Enchiladas were decent, but this was not what I was expecting. I will say ambiance wise it did look like a Mexican restaurant. Will prolly eat somewhere else next time. I rarely take the time to write a negative review, but our service was so bad that I feel compelled to warn others to take your time and money elsewhere. Upon being seated I told the server, a young woman, that our group included people visiting from Japan who were so excited to try Mexican food. The server politely smiled, but that was the last pleasantry we had during the meal. When we asked about menu items, she rolled her eyes and simply pointed to what was printed on the menu. When I asked a follow up question to clarify what was printed on the menu, she was brusque and curt and openly hostile. It was so appalling that even my college-aged daughter, who will defend poor servers to the death, commented on the level of rudeness and lack of attention (we were left holding our menus during the long wait between ordering and when the food arrived and our empty drinks were never filled). We were so disappointed that our guests from Japan had this experience for the only time they could get Mexican food on their trip. As far as food, it was okay but nothing special. When the bill came, the server hovered over the device watching as I selected from the tip options, the lowest of which was 20%. The pro: The decor was cute and fun. And another server there appeared friendly and attentive to his table. So perhaps others will have better experiences. read more

We went here for lunch today 7/9/24 and it was pretty good. We got there for an early lunch around 11 and looked like the firsts guests there. (We have been on a mission to find good Mexican food here and it's hard) We were seated fast and got nice cold water brought to our table which we decided to sit out on the patio and it was really nice plus they had umbrellas so was helpful with the sun out. The salsa wasn't the best salsa (just hard to find a really amazing salsa which has a good kick, :( so that was a bummer but I've had worse so it wasn't that bad but wasn't something I would want to go back and try again). The pulled pork tacos were great thought. It was done well and had a good flavor too and the beans were awesome and rice was different than what I'm used to but it was good. Every one was friendly and service was great too. We love to try new places and glad we stopped here to try. We will go back again to try something else but probably on our next vacation. read more

This is one of those little hidden spots that only locals know about. It's in an enlarged house tucked away at the base of a mountain, well off the main drag in Manitou. The patio is wonderful in nice weather. The food is fantastic and fairly priced. The margaritas are easily the best in the city. If there are 2+ of you, order the margs by the pitcher. (The smaller pitcher=4 margs.) I recommend the Mexican Mixto, which lets you sample a range of offerings. It's also large enough that I get two full meals out of it, which makes it the best value on the menu. Service is always great here. The staff seems happy even when the place is packed, which is usually is on the weekends. Insider tip: Get there by 5 p.m. or expect a wait that can stretch to an hour. read more

We have been coming here for years - over 10, and pretty much always order the same thing to eat and alternate between our favorite margs. The thing that will make or break a restaurant is consistency and quality and they had both. However, we just ate there and I am not sure that we will return. We had the spinach/poblano enchiladas covered with green chile as usual. This time, the green chili had no flavor and seemed like it had come out of a can...its consistency was gelatinous and flavorless. Then, we were really wanting our margs (rough couple of weeks) and they are known for their potent and perfect margs. We don't want to snooze too soon so went with our other midday usual which is a sangria-margarita. My first sip was so disappointing because all I tasted was club soda and sweetness...no hint of tequila or lime or anything that resembled what it should have tasted like. I could cry because this was our go to margarita joint. Our server was wonderful, so kudos for her. read more
