It was a cold and rainy afternoon. I came looking for their fireplace. It wasn't on - it's May - but they turned it on for me, which I appreciated. I came for some comfort food and found it in beans and rice. I haven't been here in ages, but it's still very good. I also ordered a burger so I could take most of it home. The burger was delicious. I didn't intend on having any alcohol, but ended up ordering a house Margarita, rocks and salt. Here was my only disappointment. It was mostly ice, not much Margarita. Turned out that was okay, because it wasn't the tasty, award winning margs they used to have. It was yellow looking and didn't taste great. I drank it because it was fifteen dollars, which shocked me. I think I got a couple of dollars off for happy hour. It was drinkable, but not delicious. It didn't make me want to linger and it certainly didn't make me want to have another. I wonder what happened to their award winning margarita recipe. This was the first place I ever had a margarita and they used to be so delicious. I turned 70 this year. Had a lot of margs here when I lived closer. I'd still come back for their beans and rice, and because it's the Loop. But would either upgrade the marg or skip it altogether. read more

This place seems to have slipped a bit over the years. Indifferent, slow service and the food was just okay. I was possibly influenced by the major hassle of parking in the area and the loony people jumping into the street with signs screaming to stop in your tracks for jaywalkers. read more

Located in a tourist town in Manitou springs...The storefront is right on the mainstreet and I assume it gets crowded in tourists season but not on this visit. The insides is fairly large (estimated seating 80-100) with booths tables and chairs. There seems to be three different areas the bar and two dinning areas. The staff was efficient and cool and they seemed to have enough workers. The menu was your typical burritos tacos enchiladas etc. Prices was reasonable except some really expensive magaritas. food was tasty and portions was fair. All in all a cool experience and since I dont do magaritas anyways i won't count the very premium magaritas price against them. read more

Good food, good drinks, good service. On a recent trip to manitou springs, I decided to try The Loop for lunch. Located on the north end of the DT manitou strip, this eatery boasts of an extensive food and drinks menu, and most of the items I tried were good. The strawberry marg was refreshing and strong, and the Burrito From Hell was exactly that - loaded (great serving size tbh) and spicy hot! Complimentary chips and salsa + very attentive servers made the trip worthwhile. I'll be back to try their order menu items for sure. read more

Went last weekend during the Coffin Races. They were PACKED, so the service was slow, but we always had chips and salsa. The grilled shrimp tacos were so outstanding. WOW! The Horni Grandma margarita was banging! I'm definitely going back when I'm in Manitou next and hungry for Mexican. read more

This is a Mexican restaurant but I decided to order the Pike's Peak burger. It was outstanding! Huge patty cooked to perfection. Crispy around the edges and tender on the inside. It came with tots or fries. I ordered the tots and they were perfect. All for $14.99. Take a look at the pictures I uploaded to get an idea. This burger came with lettuce, tomato, bacon, ham, cheese and avocado. No sauce an it didn't need it. The patty was seasoned perfect. It is definitely one of the best burgers I have ever had and that is saying a lot because I'm a beer and burger kind of gal. I lucked out going here as the three other places I tried were all closed for lunch that day. I will absolutely eat here again the next time I come. What a delight! I ordered the Veggie Burrito and was pleasantly surprised. There were tons of veggies and black beans with just the right amount of cheese. I had the green sauce on the side. The loop is approximately located along a round about run manitou springs. I came here to try the margaritas, which I've heard a lot of good things about! We were out on a waitlist, but ended up being seated quickly. Our server was very nice, but he seemed a little stressed out and his section looked VERY full. He was still able to take our orders quickly and there wasn't much of a wait for food/drinks. The margaritas seem expensive for what they are, especially if you get the large size. I had the strawberry margarita and it was very good but it definitely wasn't strong. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas which were also good, but I did see some meat that must have accidentally gotten in the vegetables... some of the things we ordered never came either, but nothing too important. Overall, not a bad experience but not my favorite margaritas in town. read more

This classic Mexican restaurant has seen better days. I believe the tourist have created an expensive low quality food restaurant. The cook has all of the ingredients for a quality restaurant but the flavors are only covered up with processed cheese. The thinned out beans with 1/4 of them covered with boring cheese was sad. The enchilada was worse than frozen dinners. I only want you to honor the food. It has been since 2019 that I last ate here and it was a regular visit. You guys can do. better. read more

Went back a second time with my boyfriend and our baby, and it was just as amazing. Gwen and Becky took care of us again--super kind, helpful, and Gwen even remembered our baby's name! There was a new dish for two on the menu that was incredible and gave us enough leftovers for a whole second meal each. This place is officially our go-to. My girlfriends and I stopped in to grab some lunch while we waited for the line to die down for the Manitou Wine Festival. We were greeted at the door by the host who was joking with another gentleman at the bar when you first walk in and said I'll be right back. He came back gave the guy a funny look and then said he would seat us. Not sure what that was all about, but just seemed a bit odd. Our server (Vinny I believe was his name) was awesome! He was quick with answers to any questions we had and suggestions. explained what came in or on the food, etc. He also kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything and was totally fine with us splitting checks for the 4 of us. We ordered some margaritas and I ended up getting the beef fried tacos. I am a taco connoisseur and deep fried are my favorite type. I saw 1 Yelp photo with them fried but nothing lists it like that anywhere on the menu. I asked our server and he made it sound like you have to request them to be fried. They looked good when arrived. The meat was lacking flavor but if you got a whole bit with the cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, it all came together. I would have preferred them to be fried a little longer, but otherwise they fed me. I would probably come back if I am in the Manitou area and wanted some Mexican food. read more

At the suggestion of a good friend of mine, I chose to celebrate my birthday at The Loop this year. Making the reservation was super easy, even for getting a large table (9 people) on Mother's Day. I love the location because Manitou Springs is one of my favorite towns in Colorado. And The Loop is right in the middle of the best part of town. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the whole meal. Great drinks and delicious food was enjoyed by everyone. I had the Chili Verde Dinner. The menu said "very spicy". This is true. But also so delicious and filling. I had the Patron Margarita. Super tasty. Not overly boozy. The room noise level was really loud and filled with happy people. A bit too loud, maybe. But not terrible. Service during the meal was good, but could've been a bit better. I think the waitress was just a bit overwhelmed. But she kept a good attitude the whole time. If I could rate this place a 0, I would. They are not honest and upfront about their automatic gratuity, so if you're on a budget, this place is not for you. Very overpriced and honestly subpar food. One order of their queso is $17 for an almost decent-sized amount of essentially melted plastic. Do not come here if you're looking for authentic or good food. Overly greasy and unseasoned are definitely words I would use to describe this place. The servers themselves are fine, but the establishment altogether leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Looking at all of these bad reviews, it is amazing that this place is still open. I mean, talk about a train wreck of a business. Seriously, there are way better, more affordable places all around the Manitou. The inside of this place is overall okay, but the bathrooms are quite gross. Maybe that day they just didn't clean them well, or it was the person before me, but whatever happened in there needed to be cleansed thoroughly. We visited The Loop for a late lunch and were glad we made this restaurant our choice. We were quickly seated, drink orders were taken and chips and salsa to the table. We chose to split the chicken and steak fajitas. It was perfect for two. The fajitas were sizzling hot, the chicken and steak was cooked to perfection as were the peppers, onions and tomatoes. The Loop has definitely declined in quality, portion size and service since my last visit some time ago. I ordered chicken nachos to go without olives to go. I was very disappointed when I got home to find a sloppy mess in a small foil pan with a paper lid, and the nachos were covered with olives. These nachos were definitely worth the $20 that I paid . I did receive a prompt refund when I returned, but this experience confirmed what I already knew. I will continue to patronize El Taco Loco across the street, where I have always gotten great food, excellent service, etc , at a very reasonable price. I used to love dining at the Loop, so this is quite disappointing. read more

What could be improved??? The manager needs to read the Google reviews. Constantly saying how the food has no flavor. Everything is watered down from sauces to beans to stretch the food and profits. And, the restaurant is dirty. The "owner's" response is the same "we're sincerely sorry and will look into it". One of my hometown hangouts and an old favorite of mine; we always came here for celebrations after a marathon run or for a party. I came back here after many years away and it's still so good. I had the enchilada trio, a blend of a beef enchilada, cheese enchilada and seafood enchilada. They were delicious. My daughter had the Chile Colorado burrito which was also delicious; the meat was cooked very tender and had a flavorful sauce. Service was prompt and friendly. Decided to try this place out while visiting CO. Our kids love Mexican food! This place definitely has its own vibe; which is cool. Our server was amazing; very helpful with the menu and just was an all around good waiter. The menu has a lot to choose from, price point is a tad high in my opinion. I mean back home the white queso is between $4-$7 depending on where you go. Here it's $14.... Little high for some cheese. It did taste a tad different... almost sweet. Portions are decent; the garlic shrimp entree I got was actually really good. My kids got the quesadillas... which who can mess that up. My husband got the chili Colorado, which wasn't too bad. Our service was great; my stars reflect taste in food. Cool little place; but if I lived here I don't think I would keep going back. Just not my jam. read more

After a day spent meandering around the Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs, we were hungry for some delicious Mexican food. While we didn't get super delicious Mexican food at The Loop, we did enjoy delicious churros at the end. (They're filled with custard, and they're served with chocolate sauce, caramel, and cinnamon butter.) Our server, Grace, was full of life and kindness, as was the guy (busboy?) helping her. Overall, our experience was satisfactory, but everyone in our party of seven agreed that the food wasn't great.
