The staff was very polite, the food was delicious and the portions was more than I could handle... No complaints over here.

I ordered from Door Dash thinking that this was a place I had tried before and I believe it was years ago. But I didn't go back for a reason. The food was just mediocre, didn't have much flavor and honestly the best part was the big salad I added onto my meal for $1.99. The pies must've been sitting for awhile because there was a residue on the crust that made it soft and less like graham cracker. The corn was also so dry that it took me a lot of butter, a little water and foil to bring back to life. Always pass by this establishment. Several cars in the parking lot does NOT mean great food, it may equal poor taste buds. Customer service GREAT. Food was not fresh they threw it back on the grease for a bit of warmth or it was just cold. Cole slaw was realllly runaway slaw. This is one of the old school restaurants serving seafood and that's what they specialize in and they don't try to do anything else but sell. Seafood to their customers with great quality great service great food. The individual that's managing as a restaurant takes great pride in the food and its customers and employees that they have. I think the fried option has a lot more flavor than the grilled - I tried to be somewhat healthy that afternoon but my shrimp and scallop was pretty bland. The hiring manager and his hostess team have racial issues with hiring people that are looking for employment, especially with brown skin...I guess they have the right to hire whoever they want...2024 when employment is still low and employers claim that no one wants to work. Stopped for lunch today with a group from work. I had the trout on bed of yellow rice, hushpuppies, coleslaw and green beans with bacon. The canned green beans were made with generous chunks of ham and served hot just like my grandmother's. I love fresh but these were nostalgic and much better than those at similar family diners. The trout was very great and the hush puppies very light and fluffy. I should have ordered the baked potato and nixed the faux pilaf but otherwise the lunch was fine and reasonably priced. read more

After I ordered, the cook came out to tell me that my food would be out shortly. I thought that was really nice of her. The place was very busy so I just new that the food would be good! We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the years and the food is always Decent. The waiter or retrwaiter or waitress that we've had they've probably could have been better. I have to say that this time that I went we tried the shirts camping and my husband got a low country boil and it was delicious the only thing that couldn't make it better is if the low country boil could have had lake substitutions. He didn't want the crab leg he just wanted more crawfish and you would think that be not an issue because crawfish are not as expensive as the as the crab legs but we were told that they didn't have The crawfish amp to accommodate that. This place is a small place with incredible seafood. The prices are extremely cheap . All you eat fish for $13.00 with 2 sides. You can't beat that at all. Wine is $3.99 not the best but for the price not that bad. I will definitely come back. read more

This restaurant has definitely went downhill and I will be reporting them to the health department. We ordered a whole catfish. They serve two cut pieces with bones. The first piece was fine. Both of our second piece of catfish was halfway raw with pink inside, taste funny and smelled funny. We told the waitor and asked can he replaced it. My cousin fish came out b4 mines and it was still that way so she sent it back. I said I no longer want mines before it came out. The waiting asked did we want anything else so he started making suggestions. We said no to shellfish options. The waiter said would you like some salmon instead we said sure. Then the manager comes out to our table huffing and puffing at us. We thought he was a method head getting aggressive with us. So my cousin said are you the manager he said yes. We couldn't tell because he was extremely rude and disheveled looking and started tucking in his shirt at our table. I'm not use to a manager looking or behaving like that. He was made at us because we selected salmon but the waiter suggested it. Then he tried to act like we were stealing fish. Him and my cousin exchanged words. I was trying to be an example of how he should act when speaking to folks respectfully. When I was correcting his false narratives of the facts he turned to my and trying to cause a scene and she told his ass off. Then he said well don't pay you can leave. My cousin still showed him mercy because we were trying not to cause a scene. The waiter came out and said what happened we explained he lol said wow how unprofessional of him. My cousin tipped the waiter for us both while I took a call and we left. I forgot to mention that the fried okra was undercooked. I will never come back to this restaurant. Senior citizen menu times 2 plus 2 wines and 1 beer and pie should have been $51 as per pricing in their menu. Charge was $96! That included a 3.5% credit card usage fee. Apparently they love to try to rip off people and thus are charged by their card service provider a high fee that they pass on. First time there their credit card system was down. Crystal River Seafood is a decent place to get a seafood dinner on the westside of Jacksonville. It's better than some of the chain restaurants. They always have very good fried shrimp and their sides are tasty. They have the usual sides you find in most Seafood restaurants. Their lobster bisque is very good. Other than the shrimp, the bisque, and some sides, I haven't tried anything else on the menu. However, I will definitely be going back to try some other food items. read more

Me and my friend went on Saturday and the food was mediocre but they messed up my friends order and when we went to fix her order the girl at the front made comments about her accent and how she couldn't understand her English. I understand not being able to properly hear your customers but you should always confirm the customers order before making and especially to not discriminate against someone bc maybe they don't speak English as well as other customers would. Our server last night was a little better than lately, and they got rid of the extra girl who stood next to the cashier texting on her phone. That had to save them money. 2 of us ordered fried pollock. Mine was perfect. White, flakey, cut with a fork like mashed potatoes. Unfortunately for the other person got fish that was dark, rubbery and could not be cut with a fork. She folded it in half and it snapped back straight without breaking the fish. Oh yeah and when you're getting ready to leave and pay they charge you an extra 3.5% if you want to use your credit or debit card.
