I went in to get a crown replaced and Dr. Nic insisted on pushing through the appointment even when I was unable to handle the pain after multiple shots of novocaine. For a frame of reference, I have multiple crowns and have had crown replacements in the past but have never experienced this amount of pain. She administered Nitrous and we finished with the temp crown. Four days later I was still in too much pain and I called the office to notify them. When I returned 2 weeks later for my permanent crown, I expressed I was still in some pain. She again insisted on pushing through the appointment and applied my permanent crown. After it was on, I again commented how tender the area was. She then agreed to do an x-ray and blamed me for not telling her about this before she put the permanent crown on. I was shocked! She looked at the xray and immediately agreed to write me a referral to a specialist for a root canal. It's been one week since my visit with her and I am still in pain and will be calling the specialist. This is unacceptable care and I do not recommend Dr. Nic. read more

From the admin, hygienists, dentists, to the extended team members, they have all been supportive and accommodating, ever since I moved to WA. I did research on finding local, high-quality dental care covered under my insurance, and chose them. They were conveniently located near my home and the office, as well as willing to accommodate new patients. I have been with them for almost 4 years, and they continuously focus on providing a positive patient experience, even during the COVID-19 pandemic timeframe, by implementing additional safety measures. They try to encourage/inform new or different habits to maintain excellent oral health and build a history intended to work for the patient's benefit. In addition to semi-annual oral health, occasional, unexpected oral health concerns, Crystal Springs Dental helped me to begin and finish my Invisalign (teeth alignment treatment) journey to address my desire to close my diastema or gap between the two front upper teeth. Only went for my first visit at this office had an unpleasant experience. First, when I made the appointment over a month in advance I was told since I hadn't been to a dentist in so long it would a comprehensive check up - was not told this didn't include a cleaning. I had something come up and had to reschedule my appointment, which I called to do a week before it was scheduled. Was pressured by the receptionist to come in that day within 2 hours. I could so I did. Waited an unreasonable amount of time before being checked in because the receptionist was making small talk with another employee. Once the dentist saw me after x-rays, she made rude comments about how my job sounded unpleasant. Then shamed me for not having had braces as a kid, something out of my control, and my teeth aren't outrageously crooked either. She sent me on my way without a cleaning which I wasn't aware wasn't going to happen. Receptionist then pressured me to make an appointment for a cleaning the next day, I haphazardly agreed. I left a voicemail to cancel the appointment within a few hours of scheduling it, realizing I couldn't commit to the time frame. Asked for a call back to reschedule and never received one. Then received a letter with an estimated "plan" for my oral health that would cost over $800 after insurance. No explanation of what the plan was. Unprofessional and won't be going back. read more

Everyone at Crystal Springs Dental is wonderful! I have been for two visits and now both my kids have gone too. Both my 3 and 1 year old had positive experiences. My 3 year old had been to another local dentist about a year and half ago and absolutely hated it and was scared to go for another appointment. She isn't scared anymore! Me and my wife have been visiting Crystal springs dental for the past 4-5 years. Their dentists and hygienists are good and I've no complaints about them. However their billing department is very customer unfriendly and the tools (software) they use are either problematic or out-dated. In 2022, with no change on my insurance provider, Crystal Springs Dental went out of coverage. I understand, it is my responsibility to check and ensure the dentist are covered through my network. However, most of my dentists, in the past, either sends a letter when they go out of network or at least gives me an estimate when I visit, if there is out of pocket expenses. At the very least, they should have billed me on time. However, I had visited them once and my wife twice in 2022 for the regular cleaning (with scans) and an extra visit (to check my broken tooth) and they did not even once mention to me that they went out of coverage. And in November, when I went for my second cleaning for the year, I was surprised to hear that we owe them money for the 4 cleanings and scans, which if under coverage would have been 0 out of pocket. Speaking to the front desk person, she admitted that their billing software had issues and apologized for the missed communication. They never sent me even a single bill for the past 3 visits, even though the billing head claims that they did (they don't have any proof). Asked for their latest bill, they just had me whole amount pending within the last 30 days (ideally part of it should have been pending around 8 months since I had my first cleaning for the year in Feb/March). They understand the issue is on their side, but don't want to admit or do any adjustments. Very poor customer service from their billing department!!! Super frustrated. read more

I absolutely ABHOR going to the dentist, but the people at Crystal Springs Dental helped my appointment go so smoothly and made it a bit more cheerful :) The receptionist was very patient and explained my insurance payouts, and Linda (dental hygienist) and Dr. Candace Chinn helped answer all of my questions. Linda was especially very helpful - she has such a positive and warm demeanor, it helped me feel more relaxed throughout the whole thing - I had to get a deep cleansing, and it was not the most pleasant experience to say the least, but she helped it be more positive by walking me through everything she was doing and explaining every part of the procedure. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! So glad I was able to find such a great dentist so close to where I live :) read more

I am excited to review Crystal Springs Dental. As a new resident to Bothell Washington and in desperate need of extensive dental work, I was nervous about selecting what dentist to go to. I searched Yelp as I do for most services and found several dentist offices near by. I was a bit weary to see Crystal Springs Office had zero reviews while others seemed more established. I decided to give them a chance and start with a basic cleaning and X-ray. The hygienist was super accommodating and quick to get me taken care of. My dentist Jennifer Stinde reviewed my X-rays and discussed my needs. I have several issues that need attention and with limited time and money to spend. She was very understanding and identified with me the priorities of the work to be done. The following appointment I had a root canal and crown procedure done. I was amazed at the quickness and empathy she demonstrated. I remember minimum discomfort. Followed up a week later with the permanent crown and again was amazed by the speed but without compromise she had me in and out. I actually look forward to going back to the dentist! When this practice was owned by Dr. Patti Kashiwa, there was nowhere better to go for family dental care! Our family was with her for more than 20 years and received excellent care. Her front office staff was the best medical administrative team I have ever experienced. That is no longer the case. Only one of the former front office staff remains (and she is still stellar). However, the new dentist and staff see patients as accounts to be harassed. I had a dental emergency, and while they got me in to see the dentist, and then a specialist, within 24 hours, I also had to come up with a couple thousand dollars because payment was demanded at the time of service. The problem was that they didn't disclose all of the services and their cost up front. So at the end of the first procedure, I was hit with the reality of needing two additional procedures at a cost of hundreds more dollars - again, cash on the barrel. I got behind in my payments. When I knew my paycheck was coming, I promised to mail the last payment to make my balance-owed zero. The front office called me daily demanding to know why the Post Office had not yet delivered the check - then called me a LIAR, implying that I had not mailed the check at all. (I had a witness with me when I mailed my payment at the Post Office.) I need follow-up dental work as there may be an issue with the original, costly procedure. There is no way I will ever step foot in a medical or dental office whose staff does not fully disclose services needed and their cost, and then calls loyal patients who have been with the practice for over 20 years and never missed a payment LIARS. Been going to Crystal Springs for a few years and these people are delightful! Cheerful reminders, earnest greetings at the door, and helpful technicians are all great. But more importantly, they do terrific work. My dentist, Dr Chinn, recently announced that she was replacing one of my fillings, for free, because she had placed it some time time ago and now didn't really like the look of it. Voluntary warranty work! This level of care is remarkable. Every procedure they have done for me has been executed with sensitivity and careful attention to detail. so I went in with a tooth that had a root canal done already but shattered. I told the Dentist that I only had $2000 cash outside of what MetLife would cover. They sent me to an Endodontist who scheduled a root canal and I call the Dentist office and request they contact the Endodontist to reschedule on a day where I could go in the morning to the Endodontist and then go to the Dentist after and get everything taken care of at once. Only when I got to the Dentist they only wanted to work on the other side of my mouth on 3 cavities that were not going to shatter anytime soon but were covered 100% by my insurance. So instead of doing the cap and making sure the tooth the Endodontist compromised by drilling the inside out (think difference between an aluminum can filled with plaster of paris and solid rode of aluminum same width and length as the can. The solid tube has more strength and integrity than the can with will still be crushed under mush less pressure than the solid rode. needless to say my tooth cracked as the other side of my mouth had another tooth that had problems I don't want to get into because this office is more interested in milking people for profit than actually helping patients. I've since started going to another Dentist that states they would never have told me to wait for weeks with a root canal and not being able to eat as after root canal both side were compromised leaving only the front teeth to chew or drink my food from a blender. DONT GO TO THIS DENTIST, unless you're rich and can throw money at them!! read more

Where do I even begin! This place is awesome. We needed a new dental provider so I yelped it like everyone else and came across this place. I made two separate appointments. One for my two kids and other day for me. I had two amazing experiences for both appointments with the kids they made them feel so welcome and comfortable which is extremely important when taking a four and six year old. They had both there cleanings done and sat comfortably the whole time, they even gave them sun glasses to help with the bright lights which they loved! At the end they got two tokens for the prize machine which you can guess how two little kids reacted over all I left with two happy kids asking when they can come back! Then it was time for my appointment. I was taken right in, exactly on the appointment time which I loved. Since I was a new patient they did a VERY thurs exam to make sure they knew every ounce of information to treat me with the best care they explained in detail every single thing they did as well as was very knowledge about everything and any question I had. I called because I had lost a filling and it left quite a hole next to my front tooth. They got me in within 24 hours of me calling (no pain involved). When I got there, I only had to wait a few minutes. I received an xray and Dr. Jenn decided I could get another filling (but in the future I will need a crown). Everyone always wants to make sure you know how much the cost is. Gals at the front are awesome too. Definitely would recommend this dental clinic. They're great about sending reminders for your appointments and they let you know ahead of time what the approximate amount of your bill will be and how much your insurance will cover. I thought the location could put weigh the challenges of dealing with the office staff but unfortunately it is not worth the headache and I will drive just to not have to deal with them.
