My husband has terrible allergies and no matter what, when he tries to mow he's down and out for 24 hours after. Made more sense to pay a company than have him miserable. We hired and contracted with Maryland Landscape Services at the beginning of summer to come every 2 weeks to cut our grass. They came on the days promised but never did the work as promised. We always had missed trimming areas, grass clippings ALL OVER our sidewalk, in our mulch and in the stairwell leading to our basement (that has a drain to prevent our basement from flooding - we literally had to clean up their mess to keep our basement from flooding). Multiple times I had asked the guys working to do a better job, they never did. We could usually live with most of how it looked, though some areas were never done at all. When we got a fence installed, we were told it would be a $10 hike in price starting with our next cut (would have been the first one in September). We didn't think it was necessary but we agreed since we only had 2 months left. When I got my September invoice, she indicated that we needed to pay the $10 extra for the prior cut in August (the only one we had a fence for) even though the email said "starting with the September cuts" along with our 3 cuts in September ($190); I only paid $180 of it since the email I had indicated that it would be starting on the next cut. I sent an email stating the increase would be fine but I was super unsatisfied with how trimming was already done and she said she'd make sure they did better. 1st cut was sub par and I even went out to ask them to trim better. They said they would and of course they didn't. 2nd cut of September was terrible. Grass everywhere. We had company coming the next day, so we had a kid in the neighborhood come over and we paid him to trim and clean up since we honestly didn't have time. When I contacted the company, I asked for a refund for my last cut that hadn't occurred and a partial on that one. She said she'd refund the last cut but not anything on the one prior because I waited too long to contact her (but I needed it done the day after they cut and didn't have time to wait for one of her employees to come back and do another half ass job). I told her I'd be contacting my bank, as she didn't hold up to mowing properly. She still refused and when she finally sent a check (2 weeks later) she deducted the $10 from the prior month that I never agreed to. I filed a dispute with my bank and sent them photos and a statement and they sided with me and reversed the charge. I never cashed her check since I'd won the dispute and wasn't going to steal the additional $50. I got an invoice yesterday for my 2 September cuts. I sent an email letting her know I wouldn't be paying it, as I had proof that services were not rendered as they should have been. She wrote back threatening to file a lien against my property. Please do not do business with this company if you intend on having the job done right. I will fight this with photos and contact dates because why should they be paid for something I had to go back and clean up?

I was so upset today that I had to pay another company to remove the weed! it was ridiculous! He did this last November! He removed the ground cover and gravel that I had laid back in 2022! It sickens me that he took advantage of me in this way. He took the wooden edging, a flower box and killed a hosta plant that I had for many years. He even took the pot that I had it in! I never asked him to do any of this. I only wanted an estimate of what I needed done. How dare him to start working and discarded all the work I had done years previously! I don't know how much a Creep Myrtle cost, but that is dead too. I should have sued him at the time. Don't know if I can still bring a lawsuit?

He was able remove the poison ivy same day! I was so relieved because I had been so scared to go near the garden area that had poison ivy for months. It's my first time dealing with poison ivy. I called several landscaping and ivy removal companies but he was the most responsive. He was also very kind and walked throughout my entire yard to double check if there were more spots where poison ivy was growing. There was one area in the backyard where I thought poison ivy had grown but he quickly identified it as another ivy. Overall the experience was quick and pleasant. He also offered the best value! Two of the trees were roots were emerging from the ground and in my eyes leaning, towering over my home as if any day, I would find the tree in my home. NOT!! The fall was a disaster, black walnut and leaves everywhere, but what was the most scary was it damaged one could cause damage to my neighbor's home. NOT !! I never realized the labor I cutting down trees, especially huge ones, the cutting it up and carrying it to the truck. The work is not for the weak .... it takes alot of strength; strong arms and most important, you MUST know what you are doing. We had a big Chestnut oak tree in our back yard that had started dying last year. It had really…read morewide, spreading branches and a thick trunk. It was also located at the top of a bank that leads down to a creek, so the location was tricky. We obtained four estimates before starting our project. Caliber exceeded the other tree companies in every way. Their proposal was professional, specific, and detailed, and they provided information about their licensing and insurance. Both Tim and Julian were very responsive to questions. We had some limitations about where they could go on the property with the heavy equipment, because of the location of our septic field. They put down mats and did their best to minimize the impact of their work on the yard. They used two crews so there were eight men working at once, but they coordinated their efforts so well, and every person was friendly and helpful. They chipped branches and hauled away all the huge trunk sections. I would recommend them very highly for more complicated jobs.

I told him and asked him to come back and complete the job and he said it's normal for the weeds to come back and that a lot of his customers have him weed on a monthly basis... maybe a weed here or there, but I paid well for weeding and mulching to eradicate weeds and this was not our arrangement. Did not seem to understand that to keep weeds from growing back, he should have put down weed mat or sprayed - he did not do either and did not raise either as 'extra'. So, $300 for these areas and 2 weeks later it looks like my yard bed is heading back to where we started. Spraying here and there is reasonable as a homeowner, but as a landscaping company, I expected better service and more knowledge. He told me he did his job well and isn't coming back. I wanted to give a chance for someone to come back and correct, but he said no, so I want to leave an honest review for other yelp users looking for a similar project.
