Jay Elston (Owner) came out to quote and see the job. I was doing all the prep work myself (properly) and he made some important suggestions that I had not thought off. He also came in with the highest quote (10 % higher) but we went with him anyhow because his quote was all inclusive. He sent over an experienced plumbing team (Kevin about 11 years exp) and his Journeyman's Assistant Christine (Current local plumbing student and intern). Kevin is super organized and very skilled. The job was broken into two parts as we had to get blue board and plaster done after tub/shower install and copper rough in. They came back today (8-26-23) and took care of everything. Dave's very nice wife answered the phone and she informed me he was currently at a job, but would call him. He was at my place within an hour and a half. He came out anticipating a snake job but after diagnosing he found a substantial clog in my pipes and got elbows deep into a big mess and cleared it all out. He saved me $100 dollars on the call. He easily could have snaked the lines and charged me much more, but he was upfront and honest. He gave me some tips on how to prevent future clogs, and guaranteed his work for ninety days. Meaning if a snake is needed in the future the price will be offset by the charges from the work already performed. He was fun to speak with throughout the process too. I would definitely use Drain King again. I witnessed firsthand that the guy knows his shit. And I mean that literally.

We ended up asking a technician from the city to detect the problem since we thought it might be an error on their part. All it took was a new flapper to fix the problem. Since it was such a simple fix, we decided to check if Viacheslav Vlasov (owner of 781 Plumbing) is properly licensed. He is not. Not only did his license expired in May 2016, he was only an Apprentice Plumber, which would require the supervision of Journeyman Plumber or Master Plumber. We will be taking legal action against him.
